We love this little gem of a restaurant , we are never disappointed with the food, service or atmosphere in Red Mezze. I love this place so much it is where I chose to celebrate my 60th birthday.

Nice food, good service. Bit noisy, but not a problem

Enjoyed the ambience and the staff were excellent. Different choices of food made round the group but all agreed that the portions were generous and well received. I had Izmir kofte which was nice but I would have liked more spices, herbs and garlic in the dish. The aroma from the chicken shish my fellow diners had made my mouth water.

Fantastic little Turkish restaurant, the food is delicious and the portions very generous. Staff are friendly and the service is very prompt. Would highly recommend.

Red Mezze is very convenient both for the City Centre and parking and St James's Park. I booked for a group of 11 family and friends attending Saracens v Leinster European Rugby Cup Final. The food is simply delicious. I had the Albanian Liver, which was a wonderful taste and for mains I had a mixed grill (Turkish, you understand). Portions are generous. We all enjoyed the Turkish beer. Two of the party celebrated birthdays. Served with a sweet served with cream and a lighted candle. Happy Birthday was sung. It's not our first visit to Red Mezze and it won't be our last.

It is always a pleasure when greeted by such friendly staff and served such excellent food. And always great value.

Red Mezze is fantastic. The food is absolutely unbelievable I have been to every turkish restaurant around and Red Mezze is always my firm favourite. The quality of food and value for money I find is better than other places. Waitresses all very friendly and attentive. One of my favourite restaurants in Newcastle!

Booked a table for four for a late lunch, busy with a lovely atmosphere, could talk as a group without issue, the food and service was really good, the food here unlike other Turkish place isn’t over salted, really good balance of flavours, definitely a favourite for a return

The food was fine but we had to remind the staff twice that we had not had our food and it took 1 hour for the food to arrive we ate still waiting for the water which was ordered twice. Will go back for a second chance

I have been going to this restaurant for more than 20 times and brought all my friends and family there. Last time we were rushed to eat the food. This time I have reserved this restaurant 2 weeks for 3 people. We had the meal and paid with tips we were getting ready to leave in the next 10 minutes when the waitress told us to leave immediately which was very disappointing

Love this place. The food is excellent and the menu is so varied. The specials are great value for money. Service is friendly and prompt.

The food is really good quality and the cost is so good. The wine is very cheap a generous measure of 175ml and under £4 and very drinkable. There are a lot of options for people with dietary issues. I am vegetarian and have plenty of choice and my friend has a nut allergy and has no problems. The staff are super friendly too. We are never rushed out and made to feel welcome.

Good food portion size good and plenty of choice on the lunchtime special . Good value for money. Friendly staff and always happy to oblige.

Fabulous meal with excellent customer service. All six of us enjoyed everything we chose. Mains particularly good and the accompanying rice was outstanding. Definitely recommended and we will return soon.

Food was fantastic, but we were left sitting at our table for over half an hour before we could even order drinks. We were shown to our table (which was booked) and then apparently forgotten about. After asking staff if we could order it came off like it was a hassle, no apologies for the wait. The music was WAY too loud for most of the evening, but was mercifully turned down later. Also had a dubstep happy birthday song blasted at roughly the sound of an airliner taking off in the same room. If the speakers are crackling and distorting you probably have it too loud! Also a tad cold in the little room out back (which looks like an extension built onto the building). My second visit here and although the food was great, the service and the atmosphere was a big let down this time.
