Wonderful from start to finish. I had scallops to begin, Steak frites as a main and Cheesecake as dessert. Faultless, and delicious . John deserves a medal as do his wonderful staff. A great night from start to finish.

Birthday lunch with the family. Food was amazing especially the Sunday Roast which was also available for our daughter who is celiac, even included yorkshire pudding 👍. Wine is reasonably priced and desserts were delicious. Waiting staff were attentive, pleasant and very knowledgeable regarding gluten free options. Been to this restaurant before and will definitely be returning.

The restaurant offers a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. We had the Sunday roast dinner, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. If I had to rate it, I’d give it a 3 out of 5. The roast potatoes, which I expected to be crispy and golden, were more like deep-fried potatoes. It seems that finding a truly great Sunday roast is becoming increasingly rare, unless you’re making it yourself. On a brighter note, the desserts were a highlight. I had the cheesecake, which was creamy and delicious, while my friend enjoyed the apple crumble – both were lovely. We finished with two cappuccinos, which were enjoyable, though they were more warm than hot. Overall, I think a little more attention to detail could have made a big difference in the experience. Unfortunately, I’m not sure I’ll be rushing back anytime soon.

Great choice on market and gluten/lactose free menus, food was delicious. There was a hiccup with the desserts so they didn't charge us for our bottle of wine 😁

Good food, slightly slow service meant we had to rush off without getting a chance to sample dessert's or coffees. Had given ourselves 1.45 hrs for dinner for four but were kind of forgotten about towards end and had to leave for show .

We wanted to celebrate my husband’s birthday. He had to be in Glasgow the day before for a meeting so we decided to stay here for his birthday and see this amazing city. We were staying very close and having read the menu decided it sounded just right. I was very lucky to get a table I think. We enjoyed our visit from the ambience to food to service. If only we lived closer we would come more often. It would be a great hit in Bath!

Excellent as usual but quieter than I've seen it at lunchtime.

First time visit after hearing good reviews. Perhaps, because of that, my expectations were too high. The food was certainly very good and I have no complaints overall. I just felt that the decor was very tired, probably not helped by my seat facing into a fairly dingy corner, and the lights going out for a period of time. Maybe it was because I was on a deal, but I didn’t feel particularly welcome and when my bill arrived, it felt as if it was slapped on the table, almost contemptuously. Glad I visited but I don’t think I will rush back.

Love this restaurant and had a great time but red onion soup was cold. Steaks and sides amazing. We were given wrong bill twice - if we weren't so honest could have paid £65 for the £181 bill we paid. Will definitely be back though.
