Fantastic food and service as usual. Slightly spoiled by a guy on nearby table who was being very loud but thankfully he left after 30 minutes. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. Social distancing measures have been well thought through whilst retaining a lovely ambiance. The waiting staff were knowledgeable and attentive and John was the perfect host. He took time out to ensure all the diners were being looked after okay. The food was superb. I had the scalllops from the specials menu as a starter , duck from the mains and the cheeseboard. Having dined in many of the top restaurants in Glasgow i would definetely recommend this restaurant as one of my favourites. We will definately be returning soon. Probably needs to be before further lockdown rrstrictions are put in place !. Well done to John and his team. It was great to be reminded that we can still have special evenings in this current climate !

Great hospitality, great food and a great vegan menu for those of a plant-based persuasion. Would go back tomorrow and have it all over again.

We booked the Red Onion for a mid week lunch. Excellent food and service as always. The restaurant was very quiet, such difficult times during this pandemic. Keep up the good work, we shall return!

Wasn’t convinced about the salad on risotto but that’s a personal choice, others might love it.

The meal was first class as was the service from the staff. The atmosphere was probably the best my wife and I have experienced during COVID19. Plenty of space , but a nice buzz . Highly recommend a visit.

First real out of town outing in 6 months as we come out of lockdown. Felt really safe and comfortable. Well comtrolled. Meal selection was great. Quality of food surperb. Last visited about 1 year ago. Value for money. Its actually cheaper for us to travel 20 miles than eat local.so great value. Thanks.

Lovely 😊 three course dinner! Enjoyed a delicious meal at an old favourite of ours. I had the delicious Ramsay haggis Bon bons which were amongst the best, I’ve ever had, my partner had the bang bang chicken starter and it was every bit as good as it sounds apparently! Main for both of us was w melt in the mouth cooked to perfection ribeye steak with frites, salad and tomato and a peppercorn sauce. Scrumptious 😋 just about covers it, was absolutely fantastic! Can’t wait to go back again to our old friend! Service was pleasant, attentive without being intrusive. Even seen the main man John Quigley Welcoming guests at the entrance door. First class restaurant!

We haven't been to the Red Onion for about a year and decided to go back due to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. What a bargain it was, food was delicious and service was great. Can't wait to go back again!
