Great quality food, especially good for the pre-theatre menu with a great choice available.

Lovely place, friendly and helpful staff and a vegan menu that was delicious. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Pre-theatre dinner: there was varied menu and everything we chose exceeded expectations of deliciousness - great value.

Family were visiting from Belfast and one person eats only fish so there was a good selection for him. Nothing left on the plates so that says it all.

Food was very good and service was good, although it felt a bit short staffed. Drink selection was very disappointing, one of our party was drinking Brandy, when she ordered a second brandy there was none left! Given that it’s a restaurant we were very disappointed, we also were told that the restaurant only had one bottle of the New Zealand Sauvignon blanc, again this was disappointing. I have dined in the restaurant on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed before.

We went at 6:45 for an evening meal. We chose from the set menus which offered a good choice & value. The food & service were first class & I would have no hesitation in recommending the Red Onion.

The Red Onion has a lovely atmosphere, and I really liked that there was a real fire, very welcoming. Service and food, very good, we really enjoyed our visit.

We had a nice meal we both had steak they were well cooked, it was frozen chips to go with the steak and you have to pay extra for sides. The wine was overpriced. Overall we enjoyed it and will be back

We were caught up in traffic---took over an hour from the airport and I had only left 30 mins for extra traffic coming from Ayrshire. We did phone and alert the Red Onion to our problem and they were extremely helpful and understanding. Arrived 18.15 (30 mins late) and we were going to the theatre afterwards. The member of staff who met us and served us was EXCEPTIONAL. Slightly quicker service than usual, she had us fed and watered and out the door by 19.05 without us feeling rushed. A simple thank you is inadequate---well done to the Red Onion----our favourite restaurant for the theatre in Glasgow.

Food was lovely. Staff were friendly. Was really busy so bit of a delay being served. Bill was also incorrect and needed amended which also took a while.

We all enjoyed our meal at the Red Onion, from our arrival, which was 15 minutes early, we received a nice and polite reception and led to a table. The staff allowed us time to settle in, then came back for order. The starters and mains were excellent. The service was also great.

Table was not ready before we arrived. Immediately offered a complementary drink whilst we waited. Service was top class and the team certainly looked after us. Can’t wait to return.

Really friendly welcome, lovely waitress, good interesting sounding menu and they were happy to flex to accommodate special requests. Wine was nice too. All in all very happy with our visit.

Food was lovely. My husband enjoyed the a la carte and there was a great choice of vegan dishes for me. I felt the tables on the upper level were too close together. We could hear everything the couple beside us were saying and wasn't the rare romantic evening out we had envisaged. The lighting was also a little bright. However food very good.

There was a private booking taking up most of ground level , we were seated upstairs and it was fine. The lunch time menu was a bit limited but we chose the chicken and it was delicious.
