Red Onion

Very very disappointed!!!! Fine dining experience!!!!! No fine dining here. For starters i had french onion soup (ok) my partner had chicken parfait, with a lump of plastic included, brought this to the attention of the person serving us, this was passed off as being normal, no apology or offer of remaking the starter, for mains my partner had mushroom risotto, nothing to write home about, i had lemon chicken (apparently) this was more like chicken curry, no sign of lemon chicken at all, so as for fine dining, if this is what its about i will stick with kfc in future as its much more higher quality than the red onion offers, never again will i step over the threshold of this place. Service was poor once food was served you did not see another person, even had to go to the bar to ask for the bill in the end. Worst experience to date!!!!!

Visiting Glasgow for the weekend. Wanted an independent restaurant and booked the Red Onion based on the reviews and couldn’t fault it.

Had a nice lunch in Red Onion with friends, some of the food was not to my liking but it’s a nice restaurant and lovely staff.

We met up with family and had a very relaxing meal with excellant food and drink and were not rushed in any way.We will definately be back the next time we are in Glasagow

Lovely lunch and good value. Our seat was a bit draughty every time someone came in the door but they had a curtain up to try to offset this and there was a lovely fire.

Nice ambience. Would definitely recommend it and go there again

Pre-theatre dinner: there was varied menu and everything we chose exceeded expectations of deliciousness - great value.

Excellent meal and value for money. BUT something needs to be done about gents toilet!

Food, service and atmosphere was tops. Shall definitely visit again.

Family were visiting from Belfast and one person eats only fish so there was a good selection for him. Nothing left on the plates so that says it all.

Food was very good and service was good, although it felt a bit short staffed. Drink selection was very disappointing, one of our party was drinking Brandy, when she ordered a second brandy there was none left! Given that it’s a restaurant we were very disappointed, we also were told that the restaurant only had one bottle of the New Zealand Sauvignon blanc, again this was disappointing. I have dined in the restaurant on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed before.

We went at 6:45 for an evening meal. We chose from the set menus which offered a good choice & value. The food & service were first class & I would have no hesitation in recommending the Red Onion.

The Red Onion has a lovely atmosphere, and I really liked that there was a real fire, very welcoming. Service and food, very good, we really enjoyed our visit.

We had a nice meal we both had steak they were well cooked, it was frozen chips to go with the steak and you have to pay extra for sides. The wine was overpriced. Overall we enjoyed it and will be back
