Lovely food and service excellent. Great location in the heart of Glasgow city. Ambience of the restaurant is lovely and cosy. Staff attentive. Toilets could do with a little upgrading.
The service was very good with friendly attentive staff. The food was great and excellent value for money for the pre theatre menu. We will be back.
Can't say much more than nice food, varied menu, good service, nice , relaxed venue . What more could you want - oh and good wine list too. All at good prices . Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch .
Great food, caters for dairy free, gluten free and has a vegan tasting menu. Recommend the Shetland squid. Good location and nice look and feel :)
Service was good quick but not rushed they let you decide the pace We had the theatre menu which had a good choice and reasonably priced. We left there relaxed ready to enjoy show.
the atmosphere was very friendly and cosy especially on a cold evening. the menu had a good selection of dishes. The only small issue there was not a great selection of dessert wines
As always, the food and service were excellent. Great value lunch menu which has a good range of dishes. Staff are always welcoming and service is professional. Red Onion is always a special experience - but without a big price-tag. One of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow.
Visited Red Onion for first time to celebrate my son's birthday. The 4 of us enjoyed our starters and the main courses were delicious. The service was very good and we all had a super evening.
Have been here on several occasions and the service is very good. The food is superb, always to a high standard and so tasty. Highly recommend it.
We booked the Red Onion with the sole intention of having the tasing menu. When we arrived we were told we could not have this as we had not pre booked it. There was nothing on the website to state this. We were very disappointed. Ordered from the main menu and it was lovely. Please state on website must pre order tasing menu. Staff were very helpful.
Nice enough food, but... the place is a bit worn. The menu numbers, on multiple bits of A4 paper, was frustrating. Kitchen Staff using the customer toilets with cloths in hand is not appropriate. Could do with a general polish up on standards.
Excellent food and service. Good value for money and quality. Wide ranging gluten free menu, as good as the normal menu. Brilliant to have a family run restaurant at affordable prices
Excellent food, had been highly recommended for gluten free food.
The food was excellent (great vegan menu), the staff wss friendly, and the armosphere was good (you could actually talk). A little dear on the price but totally worth it. Recommended!
Went on a Thursday night with some work colleagues. The restaurant was busy but the food and service were good. The food was served quickly.
Nice restaurant-however bit chilly need to improve heating temperature when door opens temperature drops log fire nice effect but doesn’t heat the room - but food and service good😋
Brilliant vegan options. Had the set began menu and can't recommend it highly enough. Staff very knowledgeable.
Food and service excellent. A drink arrived that wasn’t correct, was swapped and not charged which was very nice of them. Will definitely be back
Fab food, the pre-theatre menu is a must and great value ! The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Would totally recommend that you give it a try!
Busy for a Monday night, but not full or crowded. Relaxed atmosphere. Waitress was very helpful and not intrusive. The waiter was a little bit more full on, and if he was serving it felt a bit rushed. Beautiful food, lovely presentation.
This was our first visit to this restaurant and we were delighted with the food, service and value offered. The decor and ambiance were also pleasing. We shall definitely be back!
Food very very good. And very lovely staff . Always a treat to come for a meal when in Glasgow. It is the first place I try .
Had a lovely evening, food was beautiful even our fussy eater enjoyed her meal! Plenty options for the vegan in our party! Service was excellent. I will definitely be back
Pleasant and friendly serving staff. Had the pre theatre menu and food was tasty and very well presented and cooked. Overall a very pleasant dining experience.
Great food beautifully presented, helpful, friendly staff and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. From the minute you enter until you are ready to leave you are made to feel that nothing is too much trouble. Already planning my next visit with friends.
Great restaurant and menus, they catered for me with their Vegan menu when my friend had their normal menu. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and would definitely be back!! Only reason it’s not full marks is the seat we were at caused us to be really cold, along with my bean burger was missing from my plate. Sorted out straight away by the chef who was an absolute delight and came and spoke with us at various times. Will be back very soon!!
Great food and service. Lovely surroundings. This was a repeat visit after a year, all every bit as good as last time. Wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend.
Great restaurant and served by very friendly staff. Lunch was delicious and the service very slick for a quick Monday treat. Good value for the quality of the food.
The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. The menu has a great variety of dishes to choose from and all the food was delicious. We were also pleasantly surprised by the quick service that we received on a busy Saturday night.
Food was lovely. Not so keen on the house wine but drank it anyway. lol oking forward to returning as monkfish was amazing and lovely staff.
My fiancé and I had an excellent dinner before seeing a show at the King's Theatre. I have a dairy intolerance and was delighted to find a full 3 course dairy free menu was available! This means I was able to have a dessert which I almost always have to miss out on! There is also a vegan menu and gluten free options, and so it is accommodating of all requirements. The food was absolutely delicious and just the right portions of food for 3 courses. I would highly recommend the fruit crumble for dessert! The staff were very helpful and answered all questions I had about the menu. Lovely atmosphere - we will definitely be returning!
Lovely place & atmosphere. Food was beautiful, reasonable prices. I absolutely love the fact they have a separate vegan menu meaning everyone can enjoy it.
Excellent meal which was on the pre theater menu fantastic value for money. Served in lovely surroundings with a really nice ambience superb unobtrusive service.
Always good but the portions seem smaller than usual. Still love it.
The haddock is great though the portions have gotten a bit stingy...!
Went there and had set lunch menu. Great menu for a cold winter’s day and fantastic value. Not my first time there and will definitely be back.
One of our favorite restaurants in town. Love it. We always come back
Delicious and enjoyable every time. Love the pre theater menu. Great!
Lovely meal, pleasant colleagues, reasonably priced 2 or 3 course meal, only gripe that it was a lengthy wait for desserts order to be taken and then to arrive this made us late for the theatre.
Quick efficient and friendly Staff. Cheeseboard from A La Carte very dissapointing. Rest of meal lovely. Dined here before and will continue to eat here again
The best meal we've had in years! Even me, the fussy veggie really enjoyed the food, there is a separate Vegan menu which is great. The Bang Bang Avocado starter was delicious! Fabulous service aswell. The best bit of our quick visit to Glasgow. Thank you so much!
It was worth fighting our way through heavy snow to have a very tasty and relaxed meal. My friends had never been before and were very impressed. I last visited Red Onion over 10 years ago but the quality and service are still as good.
Great food and service. I would definitely recommend the French onion soup which was delicious. All six of us cleared our plates. My one small criticism is that the salted caramel sauce with ice cream was just a bit too salty. We will be back.
Nice place with varied menu, decent quality and good attentive staff. But disappointed to arrive for pre booked dinner to be seated on the corridor of the mezzanine whilst diners on the cheaper pre theatre menu enjoyed better seats which were vacated and left empty for the rest of the evening. Would go back but specify my table.
I am gluten free and normally my choices are limited, they weren’t at red onion - had a pre theatre Gluten Free Menu, which was yummy! Food was lovely, looking forward to another trip soon!
First time at this place and much impressed by the ambience, choice of menu and quality of the food and service. Only downside was the side order of greens did not arrive with the main course but when we pointed this out the staff were more than happy to rectify and not charge us for that item. Would recommend this place and will definitely be back.
Booked a table for 12.30. Good choice of food on the lunch menu. Food was excellent, and staff friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The food, service & atmosphere was excellent. Definitely will be back & rate it highly. I would have scored it 6 accept for where we were sitting. Would have preferred s cosier seat. Although I'm sure if I had mentioned the staff would have taken care of that small detail
Tasty food at a reasonable price with good service what more could you ask for. We had a pre theatre meal prior to a show at the Kings Theatre. Meal was served promptly leaving plenty time to stroll to the theatre.
Food & service great,a bit chilly if seated near the door and a bit tight for space, this was our 4th visit so didn't put us off
