Red Onion

Charming place, decor was lovely, food was really good and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, though, we had asked for water (tap), which was not brought to us before the meal. After asking for it again, we finally got it after we had finished our starters, however, one of the glasses was used with lipstick on it. We then waited another 5 minutes for a replacement. We wouldn't let that put us off returning though.

We visited on a Monday lunch time so the restaurant was very quiet. The food and service were excellent

The staff were lovely. Very friendly, efficient and helpful Food was great. We loved the Sunday roast dinner. Stuffed with food we couldn’t manage a sweet but a lovely coffee completed our meal We shall return

We had a lovely pre theatre meal. Prompt friendly and helpful service without being rushed. The food was very good. The restaurant was quite busy, which is good. but a large party were quite loud. It didn't upset our meal though. Been there a few times and will definitely be back.

We were in town for a concert and booked the red onion which was ideal location and we have been before on a few occasions and we all agreed it was our best yet, food and staff were excellent, be back soon for sure 👏👍

A lovely traditional restaurant with up to the minute menus. Being Gluten Free it’s often challenging to get suitable menus but the GF menu here is excellent, with few changes from the normal menu. My friend and I both chose fish options and were very happy with our choices. Good portion sizes and well presented as well as tasing delicious!

The staff was really aloof, missed quality check and offering water. The bathrooms were not clean and smelled. Food was good and served in a timely fashion.

As a coeliac I loved eating here the food was delicious and lots of choice,my partner enjoyed every morsel too....highly recommend

Staff were very attentive without being overbearing. Great choice on both pre-theatre and a la carte menus. Excellent gluten free menu. Drinks and courses came in a timely manner. Food was delicious. Everyone was very happy with the experience.

I didn’t really like it. I don’t understand what kind of restaurant they are trying to be - the menu wasn’t very cohesive. The food was okay and service was just okay. Wouldn’t recommend.

Waited 40 mins for the 4 sunday roasts, old looking water glasses. Back door kept open making the dining area very cool Staff were very nice. Food was tasty but doubt we would return

Food was wonderful but my experience was disappointing . Waited far too long for our food , then was told there was only one beef roast dinner so one of us was going to have chicken . Waited again, then waitress came over and said it’s all ok we have enough . Mmmm where did this sudden extra beef come from 🤦‍♀️. When they brought the food, I had to ask for the cauliflower cheese that should have came will the meal . Too many faults to enjoy our day…..

Arrived five minutes before reservation Order was taken on time,then we were left sitting, for tables after us to served Food. There was no communication from waitress, as we got up to pay for wine and leave, due to no food. We were then told they didn’t have mushrooms for risotto. Instead of the waiting staff telling us this 30 min previously we could have ordered something else. There was no communication, no options given, while we sat there watching others get served and food. So we got up, paid for wine and went to gamba. This was rather disappointing
