Went for their 2 course early bird special, which can only be taken between 6pm and 6.30pm and requires the table being vacated after 90 minutes. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Menu was good with unusual selections. Food was served quickly, beautifully cooked and presented and tasted delicious. Staff were keen for us to vacate the table after 70 minutes, and we felt rushed to leave, which took the edge of what would have been a lovely experience.
Excellent food and very good value at lunchtime. The staff looking after us well and the service was impeccable. Would highly recommend and will definitely use again and again.
It was a birthday lunch but with us and 1 other couple in the restaurant it was quiet I respect outstanding food and enjoy different but maybe a Thursday lunch needs to be a little less deconstructed to attract a wider client?
Our second visit to this restaurant and once again we enjoyed a superb meal. The quality of the food and the flavours were a culinary delight. All aspects of the service were exceptional.
Harrogate has no shortage of good restaurants, but 92 is up a MichelinStar if it continues to cook and present such a high standard of cuisine. The welcome on arrival is warm and friendly and if you enjoy your wine you are in for a treat, because they have an extensive and really interesting list of wines from all over the world, chosen and supplied by a MW. The menu is well balanced with some old favourites re vamped and some interesting and different dishes . Languistine of pig jowl to the chefs' signature dish,Beef Wellington.,crispy pastry, a tasty but not overpowering stuffing and perfectly cooked ,tender pink filet of beef. This is a substantial dish so much so that a dessert was out of the question on this occasion. Great staff and all credit to the owner who keeps a close eye on detail. We'll be back soon to taste the desserts. Booking essential.
We have been to this restaurant a few times and it is consistently good. Excellent food service and atmosphere. Took family with us tonight and had a great night.
A family outing-we booked for an early bird table. Service was outstanding, the staff took time to explain the menu and queried which dishes were suitable for a vegetarian that doesn't eat mushrooms! Food ,wine and water were served and replenished confidently and with the minimum of intrusion. The food was exquisite to the eye, aromas tantalizing and the textures and taste superb. All the family enjoyed the meal, the youngsters even finding space for pudding which sent them into raptures. No 92 is a dining experience in Harrogate that people should use and appreciate, we are lucky to have such a fine dining restaurant in the town.
Amazing food and service!Music mostly good .Very good value for the early bird menu.pleasant ambience and decor.Superbly cooked food and beautifully presented. Try the deconstructed fish and chips.
Great experience...the chef was amazing and the ambience very chic...We enjoyed the dinner immensely...we had a taster menu... The only downside was the original discussions to change a couple of the taster dishes to ones in the main menu due to our personal tastes...the waiters were not very accommodating at first...but once - after a little perseverance - this was agreed with the Chef - the experience was 10 out of 10... I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation !!!
My. Wife and I had a lovely evening with friends here last night. We started with pink peppercorn G&Ts in the Bacchus bar and then walked through. The restaurant was not full, but the atmosphere was very pleasant. The food was excellent, albeit none of us had room for dessert, so I cannot comment on that course. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and definitely add to the experience, There are some very good restaurants in Harrogate nowadays, but this is one of the best.
Outstanding fine dining experience. The food was among the very best, in the quality of the ingredients, the preparation and the presentation. The actual dishes offered interesting and unusual combinations of tastes and flavours.
On my second visit for lunch, like the first in May, the staff were really friendly, attentive and efficient, the menus were a sensible size (not too lengthy and with a varied selection of choices within each menu), and the choice of wines quite sufficient (perhaps a larger choice of wine by the glass would have been beneficial). The dishes for starters, mains and desserts were superb, in presentation, taste and quantity. All in all, a first class experience, and I will make this my restaurant of choice in Harrogate.
Quality restaurant with innovative food. Some dishes are complex, but others are more straightforward. I think there is something for all except the most conservative diner. The atmosphere is quite bright with naked granite table tops but the service is warm. Restaurant 92 is something different in a town with many "chain" restaurants - it deserves to succeed.
Really fantastic experience. Waiters and staff lovely and so passionate about what they do. The food is delicious and of a very very high standard. Highly recommended.
We had a really lovely evening at restaurant 92, food was exceptional. Staff were attentive and interested in feedback, we will return very soon. Plus there are great cocktails next door!
This on today's experience(our first). Is the ONLY truly 'fine dining' in Harrogate. I suspect from the true foodies, this will become the most desirable in this over restaurant end town.
Food was marvellous and service excellent - it's really spacious which is rare for a really good restaurant. Good selection of wine if a little pricey
excellent service food very good. it would improve if the menu could be rotated with some different dishes . Wine bar next to the restaurant is a great idea where you can enjoy pre dinner drinks
Excellent Food and Wine Brilliant night ! Can recommend the beef wellington and pate for starter ...the wine choice and adjoining bar makes the place very special! Mark B
Friendly reception and good service. Lacked a little atmosphere as we were late diners at 9pm. Food was good - the warm Pate starter and Beef Wellington were very good and the Chenin Blanc and Pinot Noir wines quaffable at a reasonable price about £20 a bottle, A good first experience of this newish restaurant.
I normally only like to feedback positive comments but my experience was very disappointing. We were a party of 4 very much looking forward to dining at Restaurant 92 but unfortunately it wasn't a great experience. The reason for this was due to the lack of options left on the menu. The menu isn't extensive which is what I would expect from a fine dining restaurant so struggled to understand how they could get the accounts so wrong. Our food order was changed three times because we were told that the kitchen had ran out of food so we were forced to pick options that weren't our preference. They were also limited on the red wine that was available. We weren't late diners. Parties were arriving after us so I'm sure that we weren't alone in thinking the availability of menu options was poor. The annoying thing is that I phoned the restaurant 20 minutes ahead of arriving to confirm our booking, if I had been informed that they were running out of food I would not have went. The waiting staff were good, very embarrassed and apologetic but this didn't change the fact that we had to pay a lot of money for options we didn't prefer. I wish we had spent elsewhere and got what we wanted.
Group of six had a Great meal. Several of us had the chef's signature Beef Wellington which was excellent. Good staff and a good location near the railway station. Recommended.
Consistently excellent food - especially the langoustine and pigs jowl starter and the beef Wellington. Great staff and ambience - highly recommended for high end food at reasonable prices.
Excellent experience.Staff particularly welcoming and attentive.Food highly imaginative and superbly presented. We ate from the restricted Early Bird menu and my only reservation would be that this menu was identical to that on our previous three visits.
Fantastic food. Stylish decor. Excellent service. I can't fault this restaurant. The menu is inventive but also has good value grills. great bar attached too!
Excellent restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Starters and wine were lovely, only negative was the lamb main was very fatty and chewy and short on meat.
Three course lunch was excellent value. Beautifully presented, melt in the mouth, fine dining. Staff well trained, polite and friendly. Will certainly return without a doubt.
Beautiful meal. Complex and sophisticated cooking. Head and shoulders above other local restaurants. Service excellent . The dishes explained in detail if you so wish.We have already booked to return next week.
Delicious food, excellent service, beautiful decor. Scallops starter are gorgeous and I can highly recommend the desert Banana Millefeuille was to die for (for some reason I agreed to share the desert with my husband, in future I will definitely be ordering my own)
Wonderful flavoursome and unusual food. Beautifully presented. Lovely attentive staff not at all stuffy. An overall great experience a million miles away from a chain restaurant.
Once again the complete meal was extremely good. The service could not be faulted. A good menu with an excellent variety of flavours. The portion size was perfect.
Not for vegetarians and those who are used to even reasonable service, a few lessons need to be learnt and this place could be good, sadly it missed the mark last night
Had a really good night in 92 Food was fabulous had the tasting menu if anything portions were quite big. Wine choice was very good to go with each dish. Staff were all excellent. Good night.
Fabulous food, wines and a creative menu to rival some Michelin Star restaurants! A lovely touch when Chef came to the table to chat about our experience of the evening.
An excellent meal served by attentive and pleasant staff. The pork jowl with langoustine was simply delightful. We will certainly visit again, although it would be nice to see a little more variation in the menu than there has been since our previous visit.
Fabulous service and food a marked improvement from our last visit here I would definitely recommend it. Even got to try Archangel wine from our friends vineyard in New Zealand.
Food and service were excellent. Just needed a little more atmosphere. I would definitely go back and really enjoyed my experience there. Beef Wellington looked amazing
The food is good, but not great unfortunately. For us to return, they would need to invest in a really good chef. The waiting-on staff were pleasant and attentive, but it was a bit uncomfortable being watched (probably because they didn't have enough to do).
Lovely place. Welcoming efficient staff were attentive throughout our meal. Food was beautifully presented but lacked depth of flavour and did not meet expectation. Lovely petit fours served with coffee added a nice touch to the end of a pleasant meal
It was ok, we had high expectations having been frequent customers of Van Zeller where Mike was head chef. We were slightly disappointed, we went for the early bird menu and this was not mentioned to us at all on arrival, we were just shown the main menu and the waitress gave us an up sell of the main menu. We ordered our food and the pre eats came out which were nice, then followed the bread which had been nuked in the microwave, it was steaming when it got to us and went hard as soon as it cooled, the butter was rock hard, only a small thing I know but for this type of establishment it should not be that way. The starters we ok, I had mushrooms on toast that were tasty but only a mouth full, my husband had the duck parfait which was ok but not memorable. Our mains were lovely, I had the pork belly, my husband had the ox cheek. For dessert I had strawberries my husband had jelly & ice cream, both ok but nothing special In general this restaurant was nice but nothing special, I wouldn't overly recommend
although all the food was made to a high standard I just think there was a few things that were silly mistakes. the dishes need a bit more refining. langoustine starter could not fault in the slightest halibut main left something to be desired. pomme puree which was not a puree and was in fact just creamed potato. I told them about this but they didn't seem to understand what I was talking about. prices do not warrant the food at the minute but I can see i being a good place to go very soon once the chef has settled.
A delightful dining experience with attentive staff and mouthwatering food. The ambience is pleasantly restful and we were left to choose our menu without any undue pressure and each course was served with brief explanations of the ingredients. Water was provided without prompting and we were thanked politely for our visit. A repeat visit is definitely to be considered.
Our very first visit to Restaurant 92 which came highly recommended and it exceeded our expectations. The service was excellent - attentive without being invasive. We booked at 6.30pm to take advantage of the earlybird menu which was fabulous and finished with coffee. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We will definitley return. Jenny and Mark
Went for lunch and had the set menu. There was a good range of choices for each course - including vegetarian and fish options. The food was imaginative and prepared to a high standard; the service was impeccable. I could not find fault with my lunch. A definite stand-out experience in Harrogate and I will certainly return.
Good service, reasonable ambience. Amuse buche welcomeand tasty. Scallop dish interesting; halibut beautifully cooked - a big improvment on Chez La Vie which occupied the premises previously - one of Harrogate'sbetter restaurants.
Food and service excellent . Staff very attentive and the added bonus to have the wine bar for before dinner drinks. We will definitely return in the near future . Your online booking system is also very good and user friendly .
We had a very enjoyable evening, staff were attentive, the food was of a very good standard and the price point was right for the food and wine we had. Strangely for the style of dishes my wife thought the portions were very slightly on the large side.
Excellent food and equally excellent service at a realistic price. Difficult to find a better restaurant anywhere in Harrogate. I would certainly recommend Restaurant 92.
Cant fault it! Very pleasantly surprised. Fantastic food and excellent service all within a very pleasant yet relaxed atmosphere. Great wine list. Not cheap but well worth it. Highly recommended.
Delicious food and beautifully presented! Nice to have a range of wines to choose from to accompany the different mains! We went for the lunch menu and the value was amazing! Slight wait for dessert but otherwise great.
