Sager + Wilde - Hackney Road

A really cool and vibey setting with good music playing - but the cocktails failed to live up to their descriptions and were a big let down.

Great atmosphere, service, and wine! We tried a bottle of burgundy and a few glasses of a very old, excellent Italian wine. I went to their Paradise Row location a few days later, and when I emailed to ask about a wine I drank there, I received a super fast, detailed and friendly response.

Lovely relaxed vibes and helpful staff - Our waitress recommended the perfect bottle of Austrian bubbles to celebrate my birthday and made us all welcome.

Lively and informal bar, good staff. Lovely Ganevat Savagnin. Didn't try the food. The wine list is not so long that you don't know what to choose, and is interesting. Would highly recommend

The wine is absolutely delicious and they know what they're talking about. However, regarding food it's nothing special and the portions are tiny. So go for a wine experience (not cheap) rather than for a dinner.

Good but not as great as it's been in the past. Still lovely and very busy so definitely book. Recommend cheese board and olives for nibbles.

Excellent vibe and great wines! If you are interested in great wines, there is no better place to go and taste with confidence and learn about what is in your glass.

The best local spot for excellent wine, wonderful service and super chill atmosphere regardless of the occasion + can't forget the grilled cheese and charcuterie too!

The place has a good vibe and very original design Been there few times but not overly excited about the two different glasses of wine I had... Overall is a very recomended place for a date or just a chat with a friend or two.

Excellent and adventurous wine list, friendly and knowledgable staff, warm and cosy atmosphere, not to mentioned the best toasted cheese sandwich available in this city.

Too hot, too overcrowded, far too over priced (vivino says ave price of bottle £11, they charge £43), average service, poor seating space. All in all unsatisfactory experience, very unlikely to every go again, avoid.

Lovely service and very really excellent cheese and meats boards. Only drawback is that the wines I found to be particularly pricey - the range starts high!

We had an amazing night at S&W - staff were all excellent and they recommended some delicious wines. We also had all the food on the menu (!), which was amazing and super tasty. Went really well with the wines and was all fresh and felt relatively healthy... I love this place and always enjoy my evenings there.

I've always enjoyed my time at Sager, the wine and service is always brilliant. Music is at perfect level so it's easy to talk to, definitely one of my favourite drinking establishments!

Lovely cost atmosphere. Staff really knew their wine and took us through the extensive list. Some available by the glass, but mostly but the bottle.

A favorite. The wine list is solid, in stylish surroundings (love the bar top made from pavement windows), and very knowledgeable staff. Can't go wrong!

Not exactly cheap, but friendly place. Very good wines (especially the Syrah and the Riesling that were available by the glass) & loved the cheese board. Would def come back.

The staff is always very friendly and helpful, wine selection changes almost everyday and they are very knowledgeable about their wines. Perfect place for a drink out of the Shoreditch crowds.

Very busy, small and noisy place (loud music makes it difficult to hear each other). Way overpriced and it's not the sort of place u'd expect after reading some ratings/reviews. I will not return.

Great wine selection, engaged interested staff, small space so the fact they take bookings was a total bonus, also good bread, will be going back agian soon.

We love the atmpsphere, friendlyness and great service whenever we're back at S+W. Could only wish we lived a little bit closer - we're already looking forward to our next trip and new wines by the glass!

Well trained staff and attentive owners. Not cheap but a pleasant way to spend an hour or three. Wines that you would have difficulty finding elsewhere.

We have been to Sager & Wilde before and really love it, the staff are so welcoming and knowledgeable, the wine is great and the food is always delicious, will be back again!

Great wine bar, unpretentious, fantastic selection of wines by the glass. A real gem and well worth a visit if you're around Hoxton, Shoreditch or Bethnal Green.

They forgot our olives and didn't bring a knife for our cheese, also the waitress dropped our crackers And we waited a while for new ones.. But! The staff were. Super friendly everything was delicious and I would go there again in a heart beat

I love this place! It was my boyfriend's birthday and I chose to come here because I wanted something relatively low-key, small and warm, great wine...and great toasties. The staff are lovely, really helpful and friendly. We will be back soon :)

Great wine, really friendly service and lovely atmosphere! We also really liked the mystery wine - the waiter's pick I think! It's quite cosy so there isn't much space to put away coats but that's the only negative comment I can make!

Service Excellent, lively and interesting place with good varied food and an interesting wine list. Having been to sister venue The Mission (now renamed I think) in Bethnal Green our expectations were high. Wine wasn't quite as good or as 'different' as we expected and eating lots of little plates and drinking wine by the glass soon sent the price up. £100 for two a bit people before service seemed steep. Would recommend though just explaining why not top marks.

Really lovely atmosphere and decor. It wasn't too busy either, considering it's location and the time we went. Nice wine (maybe a little expensive) and lovely staff.

Thank you for a lovely evening, my and my boyfriend met in Sager a year ago and on Monday had our anniversary! :) It is my most favourite London wine bar.
