The food was very good...perhaps next time we will ask for a different room as unfortunately we were the only diners there for the majority of the evening.

Service was good. Food overall very good however our daughters dessert was not as described on the menu. She ordered lemon tarte which should have come with raspberries and lemon sorbet, however there were no raspberries and it was served with ice cream not sorbet. It was our daughters birthday so we did not complain but feel you should be told.

Gorgeous food, fabulous service. There was a great selection to choose from. I chose beef and it was cooked perfectly. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. We had a lovely, relaxed lunch. Will definitely return.

Can't complain about the quality overall . However the portions sizes were smaller than expected. The main course came without any vegetables other than McDonalds chips and the coffee Lattee was very bitter

We have been using the Bell and Cross for years and I'm sorry to say it is really going downhill. The prices have always been higher than elsewhere but we didn't mind as the quality of food was outstanding. However prices have remained the same but quality has dropped significantly so I can only assume that either the chef has now changed or they are being given sub standard ingredients to work with. Really disappointing as we now need to find another place to eat.

Lovely meal ,atmosphere was welcoming and cosy.Quaint bar in which to have a pre dinner drink. Small dining rooms gave for an intimate feeling and the waiting staff could not have been more attentive and friendly.

Food eaten was 1st class. Several food choices were unavailable though, and Waitress knowledge required training eg We had to press hard just to have 'No pink' beef-burgers. Usual attention was limited. Surroundings good. Overall the excellent food eaten made it a 'very good' night.

Lovely pub but with restaurant food. Never had a bad meal yet. Must try chocolate truffles. Ambience/lighting in the rooms is my only criticism..very bright!

Starter was not great. Cold couscous with just fried squid. Mains and pudding were nice but didn't blow us away. I would have expected a higher quality with the high price tag. Service was good, staff very friendly although there was a mistake with the bill and we nearly charged £10 extra.

Tuesday lunch. Pub and staff were very welcoming. Menu choices were good, main course, specials board and light bites too, so something for everyone. I had duck breast with fondant potatoes, glazed parsnips and green beans. It was all cooked to perfection. Bakewell tart was delicious too. Will definitely be going again!

Great village style pub with original character fittings and friendly staff. Good value food, varying from traditional pub food like fish/pie and chips to restaurant standard. Also popular with locals, open fires and free wifi. Overall, lovely atmosphere and great pub.

Lovely food and good service. We would definitely go there again. Couldn't fault anything. My partner had duck which I don't really like but I tried it and it melted in your mouth. Place is old and rustic with original doors and beams make it a nice setting and atmosphere.

As always lovely meal. Not quite top marks but only because lovely specials had sold out early . Only suggestion would be to vary the desserts a little but otherwise we sat as requested and staff were lovely!Wuslity of food always excellent. Will continue to frequently visit

Very friendly staff. Good service and great food. The chef really knows how to cook fish perfectly , lovely moist salmon. Lots of wine by the glass and half bottles of champagne if you want to push the boat out but not too much.

We found the staff very helpful, understood my not eating shellfish which would have been part of my chosen dish. We were given choice of rooms to eat in, the 'pink' room was great with window seat onto village. The food was delicious with the fish cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back.

The food we had was really nice. The service was a little haphazard, a few dishes on the menu were not available even though we ate early. The desert menu looked really tempting but nearlly all were limited or not available.
