Been going to the Chequers for years and there is nowhere in the area which offers the standard of food and service that you can find here. It’s a local legend.

Hospitable, good food and very nice, quiet location and pub for a birthday meal. Unfortunately we didn’t have room for dessert, but the selection looked great 👍🏻

Something different since last visit, last year. Afraod to say, the food we thought was quite stodgy and my steak really tasted of the "farmyard". Perhaps this reflected the fact that the dining room was empty albeit for four other diners. A bit disappointing to say the least.

The food as usual was good but the service was very slow. We had booked for 8.00 and arrive at 7.45. We waited in the bar of 30 minutes. I asked a waitress if out table was ready and she said she hadn't got a clue, after a furher ten minutes I asked at the bar and we were then finally seated at our table. We hoped that the meal would be quicker but it was not. Our main course finally arrived at 9.30. a long time as some of us didn't;t want starters. Having waited so long we then found that the waitress was in a hurry to get cleared and started clearing before we had finished eating. We gave up as afters just felt like it was more hassle than it was worth and asked for the bill. I realise they were busy and had a wedding party - but there were waiters/waitresses who kept checking empty tables and drifting about while we were left waiting. It just was poor. When we were asked at the end if everything was o.k. I am afraid I told it like it was. the food was good - but.... They offered a voucher if we left our email. We await developments. To be honest we had visitors and had just wanted a nice meal out with them. It didn't live up to our previous experiences by some margin. sorry.

A lovely evening. Very nice staff, a good sized table for our group. Prompt and helpful service and a good choice on the menu with an interesting seasonal menu for October.

Great food at a good price, lovely pub interior and friendly service. There was a big party being catered for as well so was impressed that they maintained good service and were also able to cope with last minute GF request

Great people, great food. You can't beat chequers for consistency and quality. The Grouse was superb and the gin selection beyond compare. Will definitely keep coming back. The surroundings are always clean and table service great even when they have big weddings on at the same time.

Fabulous food but poor service as there was a function & not enough staff to cope with pub customers. Wouldn't stop me going again tho as it really was superb food.

We've been to the Chequers a few times with family. Great food but a bit pricey. However, this time, on arrival we ordered a pint of bitter and a small orange juice and they cost £6.50 !! Ouch, this is Lincolnshire, not central London. We went for the special offer meal (6 pm to 7pm) good food at a reduced price.

Love the ambiance & food but rather surprised they couldn't offer us decaffeinated coffee. Sticky toffee pudding a particular favourite. On main course not so keen on purple potatoes

Great pub with excellent food. Service was exceptional considering we were eating in the garden. Additions to the menu of Dressed Crab and Lobster Thermidor were a pleasant surprise and we enjoyed both.

We visited on a wedding Saturday when the place was heaving and were really glad we had booked. When we saw how busy it was we expected there might be a long wait but apart from a couple of minutes spent looking for someone to check us in everything went smoothly. We had a main course lunch (fish and pie), both meals were superb but in quantity and taste. If you're in that neck of the woods book a table you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic service in a wonderful setting. We're so pleased to have chosen this restaurant to celebrate Fathers Day! Will definitely be back again soon. The food was beautiful. Very tasty and wonderfully presented. The restaurant staff were brilliant with our two young children (5 and 2) allowing them to share a portion (as it was so hot that day they weren't very interested in food!) and splitting it for us so even their food was beautifully presented. Was very excited to spy the restaurants private dining room and will certainly consider this for future events. All in all a very pleasing visit 😊

Love this place! We used to live in the area and always had a perfect meal and drink here so decided to trip over for lunch with my mum and husband and again wasn't disappointed! Food was great, service was fab and the wait for food was minimal even though they were busy and had a wedding arriving at any moment! Keep up the good work!

Lovely Sunday lunch - selection of roasts, good mix of real ales and excellent wine list. All in the beautiful surroundings of the Vale of Belvoir, enabling us to walk it all off afterwards. Highly recommended!

Food was excellent! Took a good while to come a d take our order but was definitely worth the wait. 🖒A bit pricey as we couldn't all manage desert and was a fixed price for 3 courses so paid whether we had it or not but the 2 courses we did have were delicious.

The menu stated garlic roast potatoes with the chicken dish- they were not. Just boiled potatoes which were fried in a pan for a bit. I also mentioned that it was my mothers birthday when i booked, they did not acknowledge this at all. It would have been nice even if they had just stuck a little candle on her desert..... Starters were lovely though and service was good.

Made to feel at ease as soon as got there at the bar. We arrived earlier than planned and it was no trouble to arrange the food earlier. The food was plentiful and well presented. We asked for more gravy, and it was no problem. Everyone was courteous and timely and overall it was a lovely calm environment to talk, relax and eat and dink. The price was right too. PERFECT way to spend a Sunday lunch time with friends 👍👍👍
