Wonderful food in a lovely location. Drinks delivered to the table, perfect day to sit outside.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. Fabulous food. Good choice of beer on the pump. And a Land lady with a very good memory! She recognised our name from 4 years ago when our son and now daughter in law got married there.

Really fantastic place to eat and drink! Immense choice of wine and spirits and the menu gives a good selection choice for everyone (including vegan)

Food and service excellent as ever. Chicken and leek pie probably the best I’ve ever had - packed with meat and the thinnest and crispiest shortcrust pastry. Delicious!

On a very rainy and windy May bank holiday the staff looked after us incredibly well under a canopy to keep us dry. They were cheerful, helpful and soaked! Thank you for a lovely meal in difficult circumstances!

This is a lovely place to visit and dine. Unfortunately the weather had turned into being a very cold breezy day so a patio heater would have been beneficial but overall our visit was brilliant.

Fantastic food, lovely setting & great service. Only slight gripe was getting seating seemed to take an age when we'd booked the table.

Fast & friendly service, lovely food, however due to eating outside it went cold very fast, would be better if all outside tables was a non smoking area, not pleasant eating lunch while the table next to us was smoking.

Excellent food and service. We booked a family meal for my daughter’s 18th birthday. There was also a wedding booked at the venue but you would never have guessed they were so busy, the service was faultless. Will definitely go back.

We were sat at the end of a table with another family at the other end of the same table. We expected a table of our own as did the other family. We thought this was inappropriate whilst covid is still around and people are supposed to be social distancing. The other family left before having their meal as they were not happy with the seating arrangements. We were sat next to an open door and people were passing close by us to go the bar, go to their tables, go to the toilets and serving the meals. My chair was banged into on a few occasions which I was not happy about. We have eaten at The Chequers in the past but we both agreed we would not be eating there in the future as you cannot guarantee a table to yourself. and away from other people. Also we do not like eating food whilst being cold (from the open door) The food was lovely , as always but our night was ruined by the seating arrangements.
