Okay so we were very happy with the starters, things went wrong with the mains, however to their credit they did refund my wife’s steak price and I had a lovely meal, we both went for a carafe of wine and both remarked on how nice the wine was, so all in all I would say I’d go back again - they made a mistake and refunded accordingly, they also came to the table to explain what had gone wrong, what more can you ask for we all get things wrong occasionally, how you handle it is what matters and I think they handled it very well, lovely setting

Great location ,good menu, service a wee bit slow. Staff went out of their way to compensate for tough rib eye steak. Well worth a visit for the location

The food and service were fine. However, the staff became edgy after a while as they clearly had another, later booking for the table. Although polite, two members of staff tried to move us out and, to be fair, one agreed that they needed the table. Consequently, we moved to the veranda but noticed that 'our' table was not occupied half an hour later. I lived on the Continent for nearly thirty years and moving people from a booked table is regarded as an insult. Hopefully, you'll take this on board.

Pleasant environment and ambiance. Welcoming staff. BUT The starters were tiny and hugely overpriced. Constant screaming music. Mains were unimpressive ; any restaurant can make chips and salad. Veggie sausages were bland.. The lamb dish ,while plentiful, was tasteless and fatty, the gravy could hav e been Bisto. The ratatouille lacked punch. Altogether, very disappointing.

Had a table booked for 1pm today. We were given an outside table with views over the sea - great. The quality of the food and the service was fantastic which anyone should expect as a minimum but, nevertheless, always good to report when it happens. And when the bill came we were very pleasantly surprised - we'll be back again soon.

As always, the Fig Tree delivered on every level. You cannot beat the location and the balcony tables on a summer evening overlooking the pier is idyllic. But it’s not just the location, the food is gorgeous. Freshly prepared, lovingly cooked and beautifully presented. The highlight for me had to be the strawberry crème brûlée with gorgeous light shortbread biscuit. Thank you for a lovely evening. You are still our favourite restaurant.

Great sunday lunch at The Fig Tree yet again. Lovely starter of pork & black pudding terrine with piccalilli. Mains of roast beef with fabulous Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese . All fab.

Not bad at all... Disappointing that the table behind us were offered bread to be going on with and we didn't get offered any but overall good food for the price with marginally over expensive wines

A bit of a mixed bag for us, though other reviews seem to be consistently good. Starter - mackerel was a bit sparse and rhubarb flavour didn’t come through but still pleasant. Our party ordered lamb and belly pork - the meat was beautiful in all cases but what was on the plate didn’t merit the price tag given that no vegetables (only potatoes or salad) were included).
