Had a lovely mothers day lunch, chose the roast lamb which was cooked to perfection with the best mashed potato I have ever eaten. Bakewell tart for dessert was lovely. My daughter had coffee creme brulee with blood orange sorbet which she said was amazing. Will return again for a special occasion.

Great location, very friendly service, good menu. Friends up from London most impressed and it is a very good restaurant to visit - maybe my 4th or 5th time. Excellent.

Lovely location. Delicious meal and good service. We also had a room for the night. Great view over the lake, comfy bed & very clean.

Great food, super drinks selection and a lovely professional waitress. It was a bit noisy and the management were grumpy, which lessened our enjoyment of the visit a little.

Lovely interior & exterior spaces. Faultless service in bar and restaurant. Food very pleasant & beautifully presented - just the lamb was a little chewy.

Nice food and environment. However, two of our party ordered the macaroni dish and the portions were tiny. They spent the majority of the meal watching the rest of us tucking into huge roast dinners having packed their meals away in minutes.

Nearly put off by how long it took to be noticed and greeted on arrival, but once that had happened everything was good. Nice food, pleasant service. The dining room is light and spacious and has a view across Rutland Water. An enjoyable experience.

Although we had booked online, there was no table set up for us, then we were put in an extension area alone in front of an open door, that the staff came in and out with food for those who ate outdoors. It was incredibly drafty, as we had to get up each time to shut the door. Disappointing. Food however was nice.

Had a family lunch, the food was excellent, very prompt service and stunning location! Very reasonably priced set menu and breath taking views over Rutland Water, book though, it gets busy!

The location, the room, the staff and the food and drink were excellent. We will be recommending this place to friends and family very soon.

Fabulous food and good service from helpful and friendly staff. Busy but cosy restaurant with lots of atmosphere. A little more expensive than average but that is fully justified for the choice and quality.

The Service was excellent, food was very good and price very reasonable. Would recommend coming here if in the area. It looks as though there is a sun-terrace for daytime dining too.

It is always a pleasure to visit the Finch's Arms. The location is great for walking and we usually start with a cup of coffee. After the walk we come back to lunch; there is an excellent choice on the menu, staff are friendly and helpful and we can enjoy a relaxed time - all at a very reasonable price. We'll be back.

Booked for lunch and chose the set menu 2 courses £14-95. All 3 chose the trout fillet which came with leeks but as I have food allergies they substituted ingredients without a problem. Fillet beautifully cooked and presented but a little small and I for one do not eat large portions. Waitress was delightful, ambience excellent, service faultless and we will be visiting on a regular basis despite the 50 mile round trip.

Very good food, wine, service and company! A thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish. We look forward to returning in the future, perhaps staying over night.

Went as a special occasion for silver wedding anniversary. Top quality restaurant and food and prices reasonable. Lovely surroundings and we would definitely go again. Booking easy online.

Beautiful food, beautiful pub and fantastic, friendly service. Had a wonderful Sunday lunch today, perfect roast beef sirloin, and seared cod. Highly recommend to all in the oakham area.

Nice surroundings and the food tastes great, the only downsides were two of the meals were cold and needed reheating which is not great at these prices and I asked for and was told twice that a small happy birthday brownie was coming out and it never arrived. Shame as we called them before hand to request it then too.

6 of us all had an excellent lunch. The food was delicious; the staff were a delight and the restaurant ambience was lovely. Full marks all round. Thank you.

Good food and pleasant staff but slow to take our order. Once the order was taken the service was fine. Parking is a problem with limited space available.

The food is excellent and good value. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. A lovely place to visit after a walk around the Hambleton peninsula.

a good experience, but perhaps slightly bigger portions of mains would be good. Staff were attentive,courteous and polite. Lighting could with a boost - rather dim even o n a clear evening

Lovely food, roaring fire on a cold but sunny day and excellent service from the very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. Should be lovely in the summer as huge outdoor eating space

This as our second visit. We stayed over the last time we came, which was feb last year. It was a fantastic night and the food was some of the best iv ever had at a pub. This time was no different. The staff were friendly. The atmosphere was lovely. And the food was again very tasty. My wife had a chicken on the bone inspired salad. Everything was well cooked and the portion size was plenty for her. I had sausage and mash with onion gravy. The sausages were very tasty the mash was creamy smooth and well seasoned my wife had fries and I had green beans as sides. Again they were both very tasty. The only slight gripe I had would be the length of time it took to first take our order and subsequently get the staffs attention when we needed something. And when getting the bill. No one came to take payment. So we ended up having to go to the bar to settle up. All in all though a very pleasant visit and would highly recommend the finches arms for both food drink and it's hotel accommodation.

We ate a delicious lunch in the beautiful garden with views over Rutland Water, great quality food & good service. Parking and disabled access is an issue here though

Food was exceptional. Service discreet and relaxed. All very friendly. Choice of food was just right. Ambience was excellent. Choice of wines on offer was very good. Linen napkins always a winner!

Excellent quality, service and ambiance without being stuffy. Would thoroughly recommend to anybody in Rutland area. If in any doubt, go for the duck; it's gorgeous!!

We arrived and the pub was extremely busy but that didn't spoil a great Sunday lunch. The staff were friendly and professional . The lunch was delicious and we will return.

Food was good - Most of us had the Roast beef, but one had the fish and all was good. Service was a little slow. Location is good. Car park is quite small and was full but we managed to park nearby without any trouble

Food was great, service was a little slow, but didn't detract from the experience. Reasonably priced as well, 3 courses, bottle of wine, under £100 with tip. Good amount of parking as well.

I cannot rate this establishment highly enough. Staff were friendly and efficient and the food was excellent. Wouldn't to recommend and I hope to revisit.

Fantastic ambience, service, food and location. Loved our evening and we will be returning frequently. This is a delightful restaurant which is intimate, tasteful, sophisticated and comfortable.

Wow! super food and great location, My friends and i will be back very soon and will be telling others. The 2/3 course menu option is superb value with no drop in standards One of my friends like his meat very well done and he asked it to be more than pink and was very happy, although clever hidden under the "jus" I could see the meat was not "cremated", well-done chaps!! Planning next visit very soon

Service was non-existent. What should have been a lovely meal out for my husband's birthday turned out to be a bit of a let down. Come on Finch's Arms you can do better!

Very enjoyable overnight stay, the room was lovely. Booked to eat in the restaurant were the food was delicious. Hope to return in the future.
