Food was nice but yet again the service was incredibly slow which ruined it for us. The food takes far too long to arrive. Not good especially when you have a hungry child.
The food was excellent the staff was vary good and friendly we will go back again and stay a night too 😊😊 we love the open fire.
Very good food and service , enjoyed the drinks and easy access from Grantham.
Steak night 2 for 1. The rump was excellent properly cooked. Staff very good and very helpful for my daughter who had the 7 before 7 cost £7.99 value for money.
Food good. Restaurant itself dated but rustic. Service very slow 1hour from ordering to getting food. Male member of staff very poor he wouldn’t encourage me to a return visit unfortunately.
Brilliant food excellent attentive staff - would highly recommend this restaurant x we had a Christmas meal and all 8 of us had a great evening.
Service was very poor - very slow. Quality of the food was ok, but the Camembert starter wasn’t hot enough to have actually melted and the pie isn’t served with enough gravy - it’s a lovely pie but the crust is so short you definitely need lots of gravy for it (you are given a thimble unless you ask for more). Furniture was very worn - tried two chairs and both felt like they were going to break. Toilets very poor.
Brilliant. Friendly staff. Went for a birthday lunch and the food was lovely. They even brought out pudding with candles....and sang to her! Highly recommended
Lovely attentive staff and food nice. Roast beef fab but Yorkshire pudding very overdone..not hard to get right!. Fish batter not crispy but stodgy although fish was lovely.
We are frequent visitors at The Gregory & as usual the staff were very pleasant & attentive to our needs. When food arrived was hot & tasted great, what more could you ask for.
Started well with friendly greeting, went down hill with poor waitress staff, poor food. Very noisy felt like we were sitting in a youth club with no regard for dinners. Overall very poor.
The service was a little slow, although the restaurant was not busy. The Sunday lunch was fine albeit we needed steak knives for the Roast Beef.
A most enjoyable lunch. Excellent service and freshly cooked food. Good venue for a business or relaxing lunch. Highly recommended. Hope to visit again soon.
Great family meal, we visited for Father’s Day and my birthday, menu was lovely although it was a set menu food was amazing! thank you once again
The overall experience was average. The food was satisfactory but not special. The service was basic and functional. With more focus on customers, it would be much better.
As usual the staff were very pleasant and helpful. It was Pie night which gives a choice of two pies with mash/chips & gravy & a drink for £9.95 there was also the main menu & 7th heaven menu to choose from. Food was very good & the service was great thanks
Staff are all very pleasant and welcoming. Food was served in good time & was good value for money. It was pie night which was £9.95 for pie mash & gravy & a choice of a drink included. There was also the main menu & 7th heaven menu to choose from too. 7th heaven is a choice of meals for£7.99 each, also very good value. Thank you
Had a lovely meal at The Gregory & the service was great. The staff were very pleasant and helpful thank you.
The restaurant was busy but the staff were very pleasant & attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Food delicious as always would highly recommend.
Food was excellent there were 3 of us and we all had different meals all were very tasty and we'll presented cost was appropriate for standard of food. Staff were welcoming and friendly and speed of service was fine I would have scored 6 but for a cracked glass and a minor glitch with one of the dessert choices. Will certainly go afain
Easter Sunday Lunch, so a bit noisy with bored or excited children. Nevertheless the welcome was warmer than the room, and our table was ready; well it was, after we negotiated chairs that felt reasonably comfortable. The ham hock croquettes were the pick of the starters, though the mushrooms were also very tasty. The beef was basically a plated up carvery that was ok. The plaice was very tasty and perhaps a little more sophisticated. A huge piece of carrot cake was big enough for three. But the orange brioche bread & butter pudding was warm on the outside (from the custard?) and cold on the inside. Was this intentional? The service was excellent throughout - thank you.
Good food, pleasant staff, reasonable prices, loved the real log fire, set the room off a treat. Real ales were good and not over priced.
The staff were very pleasant and welcoming as always. The restaurant was busy so it took a while for someone to come and take our food order. When the food arrived we weren’t disappointed, it looked and also tasted delicious.
Excellent food and service, took advantage of the early bird offer where certain meals are cheaper, check out what night you go as each evening has a different theme!
Good quality food, friendly staff... within a characterful environment, highly recommended. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Awful food. Used to love The Gregory but they've obviously changed chefs. I had rare rib eye steak and the rare meat was so pale it looked like pork and even tasted more porky than steak. It definitely wasn't a rib eye as there was no fat/marbling. I complained and was charged for a rump instead of rib eye steak and got a couple of drinks free. After I complained the Chef decided the steaks weren't the usual quality and contacted the suppliers. If the Chef was professional enough he wouldn't have served steak in the first place if they weren't good quality rather than wait for someone to complain. The children had the house burgers and they were very dry and tasteless so we definitely won't go back. Sorry.
We had a lovely meal here. Staff were polite and helpful. Food was warm and delicious. Very reasonably priced. Nice menu with not too much choice, just right.
Very tasty food. Lovely service, Beautiful setting as right next to Harlaxton College.
The Gregory is a lovely place to eat with a great menu and very kind and friendly staff. They look after my elderly parents very well and provide good quality vegan food on request for me. Recommend highly.
Staff seem to have changed on a Sunday. Young girl serving us was very friendly and smiley. Bread was served warm and was delicious. Menu was great with plenty of choice. Our favourite Sunday lunch place in the Grantham area.
Food and service was excellent, good selection from the menu and the staff were very helpful in advising one our party who has nut and egg allergies on what was on offer.
Friendly staff, great food, good service and good price. Excellent value. Thanks. Oh and didn’t rush us when we left quite late which was also a nice touch
Great food and the service was excellent as always. Would highly recommend for a business lunch or family meal. The Gregory burger is a favourite
The meal was reasonable, not poor but did not really make you want to want to say I must go there again. The service was really slow and what should have been a quick meal took almost an hour to arrive and no one came to ask if everything was ok once we started our meal. Could be a really nice place if they placed a bit more focus on customer service.
The Gregory is half way between our friends and ourselves which is why we chose it but we were plesantly surprised by the friendly service and good choice of food. We will book again.
Lovely food, good sized helpings. Started with Ham hock tourrine followed by chicken breast and Lyonaise potatoes. Service a little slow but not enough to detract from the lovely food. Prices moderate. Surroundings very pleasant. Good parking.
Easy to book a table online. We went for the Seventh Heaven options and were very happy with the meals, Gammon, Egg and Chips and a Burger and Chips. Just the right amount for us. Staff were very polite and helpful. Beer prices quite good. Tap water provided at the table. Only thing was that the room could be a bit warmer. Other than that, all was good.
The Gregory has great food and great service in a charming setting. The Sunday lunch offerings were varied to suit all appetites, and the meals were presented with style. Will return!
Disappointing first time at The Gregory with friends. Lots of space. Nicely decorated and well presented environment. But doesn't meet the image projected on their website for fine dining - falls a long way short - more like a good pub. Served by a school lad who was very shy and out of his depth - hardy what to expect from fine dining. Two other gents served drinks and took the order didn't seem all that interested. asked for the gluten free info but never received it. No notes on menu choices about GF options. If its fine dining your looking there are many better options. If the pricing was more in line with normal pubs then this would be an okay place for dinner. Poor value for money. Shame as it looks nice from outside and website is great.
Friendly helpful staff, plesant atmosphere, well laid out tables with plenty of room. Our visit was on Fathers Day and had a special menu on, fairly good choice at reasonable prices. Well cooked food. Will return next time we are in the area.
