Lovely food. Service was a bit slow but some staff had been off sick. The two waiters did really well. Would definitely come back again.

very enjoyable best steak we had for a long time

We always find that the steak does not disappoint us. We do find the tables are a bit too close and hence can be a bit noisy but we are getting on a bit and the food makes up for it.

The steak is good but the service is absolutely dreadful.

Had a family lunch on Saturday afternoon, 5 of us with one 9 month old. We were warmly welcomed and the service was informal yet professional. We all ordered different mains and everyone’s meal was perfect, great steaks and sauces which really complimented the meat without overpowering the star of the show. Desserts were great and a lovely touch of a complimentary pot of tea for my wife. All in all a great experience and we will definitely be back.

We were seated at the back near the toilets in what seemed like a converted garage. We’d booked due to the excellent reviews on the food, esp steak. Ordered the Ribeye medium as recommended but came out well done. Chips and sides all average. Couldn’t eat the cheesecake as it was so powdery and dry. Overall very disappointed

As always, beautiful steaks, verrry tasty!! We have experienced consistently good service at the Grill 49 ever since it opened. It’s on our Favourites List!

Everything was great, service food, pity about the limited menu (and boring) for starters and desserts. Wine was good and not expensive - steaks were wonderful

Well cooked tasty food. A little in the quite side but it is a lunch service, would like to go back for an evening service.

Very poor kerb appeal. - rather like entering a car park. Nobody was available to greet our arrival inside. There was a smell of cooking fat from the kitchen. The ambience was too dark. The food was pricey for the quality. Service was adequate but not great.

Lovely setting. Friendly staff however took over 45minutes before our bottle of Prosecco arrived and then we still had to chase the water for the table. We decided to have steaks following the recommendation on the website. Asked for them to be cooked as per the menu suggested; medium and when it arrived, was more like Well done. We all felt that the food was not piping hot and had been left on the side too long before being presented to us

An amazing steak, very much enjoyed. Friendly staff who were very attentive for my boyfriends birthday. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone visiting the area

First time visit and it was Excellent! We Will definitely be visiting this restaurant again. We had great food and a really good atmosphere. Our starters were good but the main courses were REALLY good.

The food was lovely. Came for my boyfriends birthday on valentine’s Day. Service was a little slow but guessing they had a busy evening. I had the ‘Greek Salmon’ but there was nothing Greek about it apart from the tzatziki. Was hoping for some olives or feta but was just a plain salad. Over all was tasty but not sure it was worth the £65 spent. Steak was medium rare but was cooked a little too much. Beautiful ambiance inside and beautifully decorated tables with candles and rose petals. Even gave me a rose to take home! Delicious cheesecake, extremely dense and tasty! Overall lovey however was a bit disappointed with the Greek salmon.

Delicious food and excellent service! Steak was just amazing, location wise it’s also really good. We highly recommend this place to everyone who wants to get a high quality food and service!! ;)

Lovely attentive service and food, would certainly return if in the area. Steaks cooked to perfection, chips and veg good, too full for dessert unfortunately!

There were 5 of us in the party. The experience was very pleasant and the food freshly cooked. Three of us had fish. The fish was nicely cooked but we really did need more vegetable. The bass was served with mediterranean vegetables which were tasty but only a very small amount. I do not have an enormous appetite but on a cold day I actually felt hungry when I had finished the main course! - the person who had sword fish had no vegetables but a thick sauce - nice enough but again the dish needed vegetables.

Excellent service & food, really lovely restaurant . Atmosphere is good and the restaurant is very good value for money. If you have not tried definitely recommend

Great ribeye steak and light but very tasty sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce. Nice small venue and friendly attentive service. Meal quality above the medium prices.

Adrian and Victoria.Saturday 12th January Grill49 was excellent it was a very good meal ! We had Salmon and the Sea Bass which was beautiful. We were made very welcome and it’s a cosy place for couples . Next time definitely try the steaks as they looked really good. Great find 👍

It’s a small restaurant which could maybe do with freshening up a little bit, but serves very good food, has a good selection of wine and friendly staff.

A quaint restaurant serving the best steak I've had yet and cooked to perfection. I will definitely be back and recommend you try them out.

The food was fab, the fillet steak was excellent. In fact the steak was so good my partner ordered a second one!! Excellent service. We will definitely be going again.

Gorgeous food as always! We recommend this place a lot and friends and family are always impressed. We have tried most things on the menu now and never had a bad meal. Personal faves are the shrimp to start and Fillet :)

On our first visit to Grill 49 we found the atmosphere very good, as was the food, which was cooked to perfection. Prices were also reasonable and service was friendly, I'm sure we will be back.

Three visits, three excellent meals. Really good starters, perfect steak and indulgent puddings. Wine was good too. Staff very attentive and helpful. I'll defiately go again.

Hard place to find, you wouldn’t just stumble across it but if you’re looking for a great steak it’s definitely worth a visit. Friendly staff, decent wine list and reasonable prices.
