Really good food, the ribeye steaks were superb, super tasty with a fab chargrilled flavour! Puddings were fab! Combined with friendly and attentive service, we’ll definitely be back and would certainly recommend!

First visit to Grill 49. Delicious food (King Prawn skewer was particularly good as were the steaks) in a charming characterful subterranean restaurant all at very reasonable prices. We will return.

Perfect service, fantastic menu. Highly recommend. Nice surroundings. Restaurant is very popular, and has a great atmosphere. A real gem for Cheltenham. Already booking to come back another evening!

Great starters followed by T Bone Steak... simply the best we have ever eaten! (And we have eaten steaks all over the UK!) It's not an easy place to find but definitely worth the effort...

Despite the noisy Christmas party next to us we enjoyed great atmosphere. Our starters and main courses were delicious. My steak and potato salad was fabulous. Deserts were made in house and generous and beautifully presented.

Not the first visit for us. Excellent food and atmosphere with good service which was attentive whilst unobtrusive. The perfect place to enjoy an evening of good food and wine with good friends.

Great meal. Would go there again as our steak was beautifully cooked and presented with really tasty and crunchy mediterranean vegetables. Superb evening and really enjoyable.

The food was excellent, however the service was ok! They should invest on The cutlery and the refurbishment of the place, but it’s very Cosy!

This was an unexpected find and we had a fantastic evening here. The food was good quality and well cooked. It isn’t “fancy dining” as such but everyone in our party fancied multiple dishes and when they came there was a degree of “food envy” on display. The steaks in particular were lovely. As for the restaurant itself it is a bit quirky and quite dark in terms of subdued lighting but we didn’t mind this. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the wine was great value and really high quality. All in all a great evening out.

Our second visit to The Grill 49 and it didn’t disappoint. Lovely setting, great service, excellent food the Fillet Steak was cooked just right what more is there to say great end to our Sons Graduation day

Great food the steaks are excellent and cooked exactly to your liking. The swordfish with a mildly curried sauce was really good very soft fish well cooked. The only reason haven’t given it an excellent rating is the service was quite slow and they had run out of ribeye when the table next to us ordered and they were offered a t bone for the same price when we paid the full amount.

Excellent food especially the fillet steak and crispy squid, seating a bit cramped, lighting and music variable. Because the restaurant is so small best to book in advance for weekends

Very very small but lovely and charming. Ambiance is amazing and the food was fantasti. Steak was cooked to perfection and one of the best I've ever eaten.

Excellent food and service. Visited due to high position on Trip Advisor and not disappointed. Very helpful waiter who offered wine tasting before selection. Midweek was quiet so lacked atmosphere. Overall a good evening.

We went on a Friday night- the steak was delicious and a very reasonable price, there just wasn’t a huge amount of atmosphere. Would go back for the food though!

Went for early evening Saturday meal. Excellent food & friendly service. Had the jerk chicken & ribeye steak both tasty, hot and good value for money.

Great service, great food. Steak cooked to perfection with delicious roasted vegetables. Also very reasonable as the Ox is £30 for steak alone whereas this was £18.99 for steak , veg and chips. Will be back soon!

Celebrated our wedding anniversary and sons birthday on 21 September. Awesome service and brilliant steaks. Great atmosphere and wonderfully attentive staff. Highly recommend. Knowledgeable and accommodating around the food and great GF options available.

5 of us visited for the first time and all enjoyed it. The only slight negative was an overcooked lamb, having been asked how it was required, but everything else was just lovely. Many thanks.

Superb sirloin steak which was cooked extremely well with fantastic seasoning. Chips were just the right amount of crispy! Service was great! We left very happy.

Visited on recommendation from a friend and glad I booked this restaurant. Four of us, we all had steak and agreed it was the best steak we have ever had in a restaurant anywhere. Desserts were delicious sticky toffee pudding, cheesecake and Brownie. Good choice of wine, waiters welcoming and attentive. Great atmosphere great restaurant!

Service was friendly and excellent. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. This is the second time we have been here and this was for our anniversary we love this restaurant and highly recommend it to anyone.

Not many people in when we dined so the restaurant lacked atmosphere. It was also quite chilly in the restaurant as the door was left open. The fillet steak was superb as usual albeit by the time you added on extras a bit pricey!

A friendly relaxed atmosphere, lovely decor, the food was great, and the service was superb. This was our first visit, and were so impressed that we made another booking for a weeks time to bring friends with us.

Fantastic food and very attentive service without any pressure. Would highly recommend. Two steaks, two desserts and two drinks for £60. Also gave us a couple of vouchers as we left.
