The Horse and Farrier - Threlkeld

Nine of us there on Saturday for a family birthday. Fantastic meal, excellent service with great recommendations for both food and drinks. Made to feel very welcome. We will most def go back again.

It was nothing special unlike other reviews I've read. I had curry which came with a microwaved nan bread. It had too much salad with it. The lasagne only had one layer of pasta and had several lumps of mince. Ordered side dish of onion rings, they were like the frozen ones we got in the 70s!!. Burger was average, not the worst and not the best. All the staff were really lovely though.

The ambience was lovely, the food was delicious, the attention to detail by the staff was impeccable, they even cured my husbands hiccups! A lovely evening all round and I would recommend the horse and farrier to anyone.

Absolutely brilliant food! Great service and the staff were absolutely amazing! Would recommend to anyone to eat or have a few drinks here! Very warming atmosphere as well!

Greasy batter on a reasonably good fish; reheated roast potatoes with not great roast beef. OK, it was 7.30 on Sunday evening, but although we have been a few times before, I don't think we will be back.

After being recommended I visited this establishment and was very impressed with the service, the staff were very polite and helpful, and even had me laughing at times with good humor and friendship, and made the establishment a very relaxed place to be, the food was exellant and reasonably priced, the be local tap beer was very good and worth trying. Worth a visit anytime

Make sure you reserve you table in restaurant we were put in the snug which is allocated for dog walkers OK if you love dogs

As always with the H&F the food is divine, the welcome is warm and perfectly accommodating and the surrounds are cosy and comforting. One of many repeat visits here and they always deliver! We will be back again!!

Had a lovely meal here on Easter Saturday. The staff were great too-efficient and helpful,even going to the trouble of finding a pair of reading glasses for my husband and I after we BOTH managed to forget ours! Will definately be back next time we're in the area.

The Horse and Farrier is an attractive, cosy pub, with very friendly staff. The menu is comprehensive with interesting "specials", and the food is generous and well cooked. Always a very pleasant experience.

We went every night for the week we were renting a house in Threlkeld. Fantastic food and service. Imaginative menus which are well cooked. Staff very friendly and helpful. Dream place too for dog owners.

The staff and food was excellent. We came here over 2 years ago whilst visiting the Lakes and were delighted that the food & service was still very good.

Lovely welcoming environment, always busy but never unfriendly. Well kept beer and good enough wine list. The food is quite outstanding from regular but delicious fish and chips to mouthwatering slow cooked lamb shoulder and chive mash. If you are in the vicinity of Keswick you must try it.

We stayed in Threlkeld for a week and had a couple of meals here.. We thoroughly enjoyed it, friendly staff and excellent food. We booked ahead and it does tend to be busy
