Excellent as always from the warm welcome, polite and efficient staff and fantastic food, what more could you ask for. No hesitation in recommending, looking forward to our next visit already.
Great food, great atmosphere! The rooms are great as well , very clean modern and luxurious
Fabulous food, welcoming and attentive staff, great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Very nice traditional Lakeland pub/ restaurant. A comprehensive menu for both food and drink. Our meals were very tasty and good quality. It was a little noisy around the bar area when a member of staff’s family were visiting with a new born baby, but that’s a minor gripe.
Lovely service and friendly staff. Roast dinner was excellent . Thank you
As good now as when we first visited over 20 years ago.
Lovely homemade food and pleasant staff in great surroundings. Highly recommended,
Great service, great food, dog friendly, highly recommended five stars
An excellent meal, wonderful staff We will be visiting again. Thank you to you all.
Very nice food, very efficient service from the bar & table staff
Disappointing, Sunday roast, over cooked dry beef, cold, microwaved dry potatoes and veg. The carrot/swede mash tasted of vinegar like the Swede was maybe off?. Yorkie, soggy. The first chicken burger was cold and not cooked through properly. The second ok. The starters were lovely though.
Lovely food and great service on Father’s Day .thanks for making the day special
Great experience. Friendly staff. Food was amazing and it was a good atmosphere
Lovely food as usual. Good and friendly service. Thank you
Lovely friendly service, food was great as usual. Homely and welcoming.
Lovely old fashionedpub which was busy with a nice atmosphere for a Wednesday evening / excellent attentive service / food was very nice and good portion size however not particularly cheap / cheapest bottle of white wine was £22.95 / overall a nice visit and would definitely return and recommend
We arrived earlier than booked and were accommodated straightaway,so full marks there. Food is always excellent in our experience. Staff very informative about the real ales on offer. Thank you.
Kids meal sausage was over cooked. Pie had very little meat.
Sunday Lunch - waited for 45minutes after ordering- when roast beef and roast lamb arrived both were dry, overcooked and appeared to have been standing under a heat lamp for a considerable length of time. Roast potatoes had skins like iron and mashed potatoes were lumpy. Requested a dessert menu and it never appeared! The price was not competitive with other dining establishments.
Fantastic Sunday Lunch - well done to all the team at The Horse & Farrier for such an enjoyable experience - no wonder it was so busy a very popular place 👍
Food was great, service good, lovely dining experience, would definitely return
Great service, delicious food. Lovely to see a pub so busy on a Thursday evening.
We would come back. Very pleasant safe. Was a good experience.
Lovely meal and drinks, brilliant waiter, very friendly and helpful
Excellent food and service by charming staff. Will definitely return
Great dining experience. Beer was fab ( as it was in their sister pub over the road (The Salutation) Good choice of wine. Food was superb…… lots of it and really good quality. Service excellent. Value for money is spot on. Highly recommended.
Lovely pub, great food and attentive staff. What else can you ask for?
Lovely pub with fantastic views, staff were very friendly & very helpful. We had the Sunday Roast which was delicious. Will differently use again.
Excellent family meal and we had great service. Going again soon!
Portions way too big. Service slow at times. Menu lacked lighter choices. Lamb was extremely tough. Three dishes we’d have liked sold out. We’ve been coming here for years and usually love the food here but this experience was disappointing
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice meal and comfy room.
Fantastic food and great staff, very friendly and lovely atmosphere.
Amazing food and excellent service as usual. We visit at least once a month and it’s always great
Disappointed that there was no fish & chips (& hadn’t been for a few months apparently due to a fryer issue) but enjoyed the food The service was exceptional, Keith (hope I got the name right) makes it a great experience with his friendly banter & excellent customer service .
The food was excellent and tasty, the staff were pleasant and accommodating. Well worth a visit
Great pub food and excellent value for money. Top service from an old familiar face. Traditional pub with lovely atmosphere and never too noisy.
Very friendly staff, service was good. Two of us had delicious starters (button mushrooms in a cream sauce; squid), four of us had a main course - three were very tasty but the fourth, a curry dish, was far too hot, the chillies swamping the flavour of the chicken balti.
Always great food, friendly staff. Never had a bad meal here
Good menu an the staff were attentive Thank you for a good dining experience
The Sunday roast and service was good but unfortunately the table we were given was in a pokey small area as we had a dog.
Excellent food dog got a fuss made of him and dog treats. We have been many times and we will be back.
Staff were attentive and friendly. Food good in nice setting
Staff were excellent - well trained and very pleasant. Food was beautifully cooked. Fish cake was to die for and the Lamb Henry was superb.
Keith was a great host, food was brilliant and overall service was amazing.
Very welcoming staff, busy pub with great atmosphere and good food
Great food friendly staff lush food and good portion sizes
A recommend from a friend and glad we went. A little out of district for us but worth the trip out. Would certainly go again
Great pub not far from Keswick, stopped by for Sunday lunch which was plentiful and delicious. Plenty of ale/lager choice, super friendly and helpful staff, lovely atmosphere with mixture of walkers and diners. Very dog friendly with some TLC and treats thrown in. Thank you. Craig M
We struggled to find somewhere for Sunday dinner and this was a major find. Very dog friendly lovely food. Definitely recommend
Just outstanding, from welcome, to beer, to food, to goodnight. We'll be back. Tomorrow!
