Great service, delicious food. Lovely to see a pub so busy on a Thursday evening.

We would come back. Very pleasant safe. Was a good experience.

Portions way too big. Service slow at times. Menu lacked lighter choices. Lamb was extremely tough. Three dishes we’d have liked sold out. We’ve been coming here for years and usually love the food here but this experience was disappointing

Disappointed that there was no fish & chips (& hadn’t been for a few months apparently due to a fryer issue) but enjoyed the food The service was exceptional, Keith (hope I got the name right) makes it a great experience with his friendly banter & excellent customer service .

Very friendly staff, service was good. Two of us had delicious starters (button mushrooms in a cream sauce; squid), four of us had a main course - three were very tasty but the fourth, a curry dish, was far too hot, the chillies swamping the flavour of the chicken balti.

The Sunday roast and service was good but unfortunately the table we were given was in a pokey small area as we had a dog.

Excellent food dog got a fuss made of him and dog treats. We have been many times and we will be back.

Staff were excellent - well trained and very pleasant. Food was beautifully cooked. Fish cake was to die for and the Lamb Henry was superb.

Great pub not far from Keswick, stopped by for Sunday lunch which was plentiful and delicious. Plenty of ale/lager choice, super friendly and helpful staff, lovely atmosphere with mixture of walkers and diners. Very dog friendly with some TLC and treats thrown in. Thank you. Craig M

Lovely traditional pub, arrived and seated taking into consideration our two dogs. Friendly staff, efficient none rushed service. Excellent menu choice, I’d recommend the Lamb Henry (a new red wine discovered, Oltre Piano Primitivo Salento). Delicious warm chocolate brownie desert, absolutely perfect 🤩 online booking was very easy too!

Food was good (especially the desserts) and the service also good. Nice enough local pub.

Nice interior and seating. Food quality rather average. Mash obviously not recently cooked. I tried two cask beers. One was probably not the one I had ordered. Both were not really up to cask marque standard.

Our first time at this restaurant and what an amazing experience it was. The food was outstanding and the service by Keith was absolutely fantastic. Would thoroughly recommend this place and we will certainly be back. An absolute gem of a place.

Regular diner.food amazing as always. For some reason on this occasion , we sat waiting half an hour as did another table for someone to take our order. I had to ask in the end. Other than that the lady who stepped in provided great service and the food was delicious

Lovely pub, very cosy and clean. Lots of staff for a Monday evening. We both had lasagna, salad and garlic bread..... huge plate of food. Absolutely lovely!

In recent times we have dined at Horse & Farrier quite afew times & we are more than pleased with our dining experience. on this occasion we stayed overnight & regretfully the breakfast experience was slightly less than satisfactory.

Service & food poor. Been many times over many years & today -poor. Won’t be back in a hurry. Sorry. Venue amazing.

Fryers were bust so no fish and chips, so went for lamb henry which was delicious. Staff very friendly and attentive. Very positive visit, would definitely recommend and go back.

Visited on Sunday for the roast dinner. It was amazing. A large serving with a fantastic variety of veg.
