Great atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff and good food! 🙂

On arriving at The Horse and Farrier, we received a genuinely warm welcome from the staff and were shown to our table, where we were looked after very well. We tried some of the local beers and ordered a meal. The food was amazing - well cooked, well presented, nice large portions and very, very tasty and filling (Cumberland Curl and Chicken Ballotine). We finished our meal by sharing a Farrier's Eton Mess and enjoying another local beer. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at The Horse and Farrier and would highly recommend it.

A lovely Sunday dinner as always, really great busy atmopshere and food out of this world. Our sausage dog also enjoys the fuss, doggie sausage and sitting by the fire. Team members friendly and always offer a smile. We always make a visit when over at Keswick. Thanks again and see you all in 2024.

Group of 5 went for Sunday lunch today. Most of the meals were lovely but the beef was a big of a poor cut with lots of gristle. Veg was very good and plenty of it.

Staff are great, very friendly and attentive and the food is amazing - best Christmas dinner I’ve ever had. Our dog appreciated the doggy sausages and the towels for wiping dogs down are a great idea.

Lovely pub with roaring log fire. Excellent food and service, we booked a return while there as we are staying a few days. Highly recommend!

Good service and good food in a warm cosy environment

Lasagne was like a luke warm soup, Cumberland sausage tasted off. Cheesecake had a soggy base and a strange texture. Meals arrived within about 5 minutes of ordering, always a red flag. Overall pretty poor quality when you're spending £65 on 2 x 2 courses. Surly bartender that slammed drinks down on our table without a word. Plus side was the waitressing team, very friendly, big smiles and professional. Sadly I won't be returning.

Good food served by courteous and helpful staff. Staff also helpful in recommending a firm to replace flat tyre.

As usual, excellent food and hospitality. The staff, especially Keith, is very knowledgeable, about gin choices! A true country pub, with delicious food - we'll certainly be back!
