Lovely food and atmosphere, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to go back again. I came away very satisfied. . . .
A superb meal. Beautifully cooked turbot and sea trout plus a very tasty plate of mussels. The chef has a great feeling for lightness and taste. I would strongly recommend this restaurant. Good wine too
This was our sixth visit to the Little Fish Market. And once again the food was beyond delicious; the atmosphere warm and welcoming and the service impeccable. A truly wonderful experience from start to finish.
Excellent food, service and experience. The menu was inspirational with exciting tastes and flavours. Each dish was a pleasant and complimentary to the one before. Service was very good. A lovely experience.
We had a lovely meal here mid-week. The food was excellent, the set menu was imaginative (and also meant we did not have to tackle the quandry of what to choose!), the pace of the overall meal was well-judged, and we were surprisingly full at the end of it. The waiter was charming and knowledgeable. The only challenge was the steepness of the steps down to where the toilet is - they could be a problem if you are not so agile or mobile.
Amazing service & food. Could not fault anything, really was a perfect meal. The portions were so generous and the fish perfectly cooked. We will be back.
I give this restaurant full marks not just for the exquisite food and wine but for also for the ambience. Although this restaurant is small, the tables have enough space around them to feel private. We were never rushed and this was really appreciated as we were meeting very old friends and had a lot of catching up to do. The front of house was delightfully attentive when appropriate. Fixed price menu was very reasonable with a good selection of wines. Will be returning!
Incredible food, fresh and so imaginative. Rob, front of house and Duncan the chef are a formidable team. Can’t rate it highly enough. Fantastic evening, again!
We’ve been lucky to eat at many excellent restaurants around the world and I can honestly say that our meal at The Little Fish Market was one of the best meals we have ever eaten. Service was also fantastic. Can only highly recommend it.
Superb fish dishes - subtle yet complex flavours, beautifully presented. The desert, new this week, was also a treat. The wine advice is always good and the service friendly, low key and efficient. We will return! Thank you.
Interesting and unusual food that doesn't follow fashion. Well paced service with great attention to detail and friendliness. Restaurant pleasant and airy. Good music. Always notice that other tables appear to be enjoying themselves.
Excellent food, outstanding service. Extremely enjoyable experience. I booked this restaurant to celebrate my husband’s birthday and the overall experience exceeded expectations. We are now looking forward to try their January menu.
Best meal I’ve had in the UK and a host who knew his job brilliantly. Compared to the prices I’ve paid in many prestige restaurants this is astonishingly good value
Had dinner here last night with my husband for my birthday treat. Absolutely fantastic experience. The restaurant is so confortable, cosy, relaxed. All the five courses were out of this world. Everything was so delicious and the restaurant is professionally run but also Rob was so friendly and made us feel welcome. An absolute gem. We can’t wait to go back.
Excellent food, drinks and service and so nice that you get the table for the whole evening - I will definitely be eating there again!
I cannot fault this restaurant in any way at all. Everything about it was perfect, from the food to the service and also the drink - where even those driving can have something delicious rather than the normal offerings. Thank you for a wonderful meal and evening.
Second time here for dinner with my husband. The guy who serve us are very helpful and friendly. Will definitely back to visit again. The food are delicious and we are so enjoyed our peaceful night.
Wonderful food, wonderful relaxed atmosphere and service. Loved the tasting menu and matching wines. We had an amazing night and we will definitely be back!
Absolutely delicious! Unmatched dining experience in Brighton and Hove - can’t recommend highly enough. Exciting flavours and unexpected combinations, all combined with delicious paired wines!
Food and service was excellent. Don't think I've ever experienced such consistently good fresh fish courses in a restaurant before. Great atmosphere and would highly recommend.
My heaven selection of dishes in one sitting! Beautifully presented, tasty, well balanced dishes delivered in a well paced, informal atmosphere. It’s a small dining room and feels like dining with friends. Rob looks after the diners with amazing detail to attention, from serving dishes, to orders for drinks, perfectly made coffees and beautifully hand written bills. Thanks for my birthday fizz too, a lovely surprise.
This was the second time my wife and I have eaten at The Little Fish Market and it was once again outstanding. From the moment we arrived we were remembered and made to feel very welcome. The menu sounded excellent and every course surpassed my expectations. The chef did a marvelous job with combination of flavors complimenting each other and everything was cooked to perfection. This has become our favorite restaurant in the Sussex area.
Food was delicious and great service can’t wait to get back there
Beautifully located restaurant with seasonal set menu at around £65 pp. The food is really worth the price, it is exceptional. Top service as well!
Second visit to the restaurant and second time enjoying its taster menu. The whole experience, food, accompanying selection of wines, and service were excellent. Most memorable dish was turbot served in a seafood sauce, delicious. The chef achieves a superb balance of the ingredients in each and every dish. Would recommend it highly, particularly to anyone who enjoys fish and seafood. I look forward to my next visit.
Food cooked perfectly, great blend of flavours, and from dish to dish, lovely relaxed atmosphere, great value overall. Really enjoyed wine and beer as well.
Excellent service which made the journey through our testing menu ideal. The food was delicious with great combination of flavours. The atmosphere and the music was charming.
Excellent and inventive food covering a range of fish dishes with extraordinary tastes. Very relaxed but attentive service allowing for a full evening of indulgence. But it does come at a high price and is an exceptional treat.
Delightful meal. Wonderful, informative service. Food was excellent matched with delicious wine for each course. We will definitely return again. Our guests were equally as impressed as we were. A real treat.
Excellent service from the charming maitre d' come waiter and a pleasant room with good space between tables. The menu was somewhat one dimensional with most dishes cream/sauce based and lacking body and crunch. They were also not piping hot which is always a worry with seafood. The turbot dish was most disappointing with a small portion of fish lost in a large puddle of shellfish sauce with a strong pernod taste. Wine and apertifs were well priced and excellent but overall disappointed with the food.
As always stunning food in relaxed surroundings and exceptional front of house service. The dishes are always so tasty and look amazing too. Has to be my favourite restaurant in Brighton.
First time I've experienced one choice set menu. It took me out of my comfort zone but in a brilliant way. The food is staggeringly good. Will return !
Fantastic food, excellent service, wonderful relaxed atmosphere. One of the nicest places we have eaten. Cannot recommend highly enough. We will definitely be back soon.
A little gem of a restaurant. The service fronm front of house was atentive, charming and happiness was the order of the day. The chefs are very creative and thoughtful when they created the menue and each savory course completed each other as the flavors flowed from one dish to the next. Fine dinning experice was had and I would highly recoment this establishment to all those fish loving eaters. You to may be blown away by the presentation, flavours and textures
Fabulous meal and fantastic service- loved all of the courses. Nice relaxed ambience really helped the experience. Will definitely go back as soon as we can.
Lovely food, great service. I’m allergic to muscles & clams but they were very accommodating and adapted dishes as a few dishes on the set menu I couldn’t eat. Thanks!
Delicious food, beautifully cooked. Very friendly staff. Will definitely go again. We had the wines that they paired with each course and the combinations were just spot on.
Superb food, on a level with a Michelin stared restaurant, and great service without the price! I will definitely be going back again, ideal for a special occasion.
One of the best restaurants I have been too - anywhere! The slightly tired interior is instantly forgiven given the integrity of the dining experience. The Waiter was extraordinary. The food was innovative, delicious and intelligent. Worth every pound - not cheap - but a great experience.
Friendly and obliging service. Delicious, fresh seafood beautifully presented. Extensive wine list. Pairing the wine with each course is a great idea if you are not driving! The dessert was the perfect finale.
Thank you for surpassing our expectations. We had a wonderful, memorable and very enjoyable evening. Excellent food, wine and service. We hope to come back
I would definitely recommend visiting The Little Fish Market, the food was exceptional! We went with the wine paring option and were impressed with how each wine was matched perfectly. The service was also great making us feel very welcome and contributed to a very enjoyable experience.
Excellent - bought as a treat for my mum and dad and they loved it. We will be back thank you for looking after them.
Our whole evening was wonderful. The service is fantastic, relaxed, friendly and outstandingly knowledgeable. The food.....the best fish we ever eaten. So delicious and intelligently put together. 10 out of 10! Can't wait to go back!
Abrilliant little fish restaurant that serves clever dishes, some delicate a subtle, some packing big flavour hits. Service is welcoming and friendly and the whole ambience is special.
Tonight was our first time at The Little Fish Market, and certainly not our last - we had a wonderful evening! The location is ideal, nestled in a quiet residential area just off the high street. Inside it feels very homely although service is likened to a Michelin star - without the fuss but very much personalised. Fish is king of the menu of course, mainly focusing on local and seasonal, but it is the cooking that really highlights the quality of the ingredients: simple, well balanced pairings and seasoning, and a menu well structured that flows right until the end. Best fish restaurant tried in Brighton so far. Thank you Duncan and the team!
We love this place it is so small but the food is made and served with passion. The waiter is very friendly, chatty about the food and wine. The glasses were filled up when required but not done in a way that would finish the bottle off so you order more. The food was stunning. The only miss was the turbot. The sauce it was in was lovely but over powered the turbot. Cannot wait to go back.
Absolutely outstanding! Head and shoulders above the rest. A fine dining experience that is delicious, well presented and pleasantly informal. With enough space between each course that you could converse and almost forget that another was on its way. Each dish is inventive and utterly divine. Honestly, start to finish it was one of the finest fish suppers I've ever had the pleasure of tasting!
Super and unique experience. Amazing food, style (beautifully simple) and lovely service. My only comment would be that I’d like to see another menu, one that’s simpler, more affordable. An every day menu. It would mean I could visit more frequently.
Fantastic food, really like the set menu idea, makes you try new things and all delicious, excellent personal service and cosy setting. Highly recommended, one of best restaurants in Brighton
