The entire meal, start to finish, was fantastic. Everything looked, and most importantly, tasted, incredible! Make sure you give yourself enough time for the meal though (it will last ~3 hours).
Took my boyfriend there for his 40th birthday and we had the most amazing dining experience. Really fresh food that was stunning to look at and taste. A real treat and fabulous night
Exciting menu with each dish perfectly cooked and balanced in flavour. We would highly recommend this restaurant, the service was good, food the best and the setting perfectly unpretentious
Just love this small cozy fish only restaurant in a back alley. The fish dishes were top of the class. The service provided by the only waiter in the house was great as well. For £66, can’t find anywhere does better.
Great creative fresh seafood served with some local wine pairing. Front of the house service is also excellent.Don’t think about it just go you won’t regret it
We enjoyed an excellent meal of fresh local fish dishes and we chose the option of the matching wines. Great service too. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion.
Lovely evening; food, wine and service all first class. Each of the fish courses was beautifully presented and delicious and the matched wines were all excellent. We’ll be back.
Excellent food and service Wine paring is a must, the selection was so good, we were last sitting so we were indulged with the remainder of the bottle! Classic cooking with elements of surprise Already planning a return
Visited with my girlfriend for our anniversary and whilst the majority of the meal (and wine pairing) was great there were a couple of elements that left us wanting more. The service was great for the most part BUT we were never offered the opportunity to give feedback. All of it was a bit presumptuous such as, "That was a great dish wasn't it?" as opposed to "Did you enjoy that?". We were never really offered the opportunity to give feedback or constructive criticism of each course. This was particularly true of the last course, which we found to be only "okay". As big dessert lovers, we were looking forward to the chocolate or salted caramel offerings that were posted on the online menu. Whilst we appreciate the menu is ever-changing, we noticed the sweet course was strawberry which disappointed us both but thought we'd give it the benefit of the doubt considering the restaurant is so well reviewed and the chef is obviously talented. Unfortunately, it wasn't up to scratch compared to the rest of the meal and quite honestly, we wouldn't have booked had we known that would have been on the menu. When you're paying £250 for a meal for 2, you want to leave feeling completely satisfied. Every course built on the last but we found the dessert to be lacking. Perhaps it's personal taste but having a great (expensive) meal fall at the last hurdle does leave a bit of a sour taste and wish they would update menus as they change, rather than giving false expectation and no opportunity to provide an alternative, based on what is advertised.
What a fantastic restaurant! Rob who looked after us all evening was amazing and only bettered by the food which was stunning. Will definitely be heading back here as often as possible! 🙂
Superb food and the service was absolutely fantastic from the moment we walked in until we left- highly recommended restaurant and can’t wait to revisit!
The Little Fish Market offers not just a decent meal out but a true dining experience. The attention to detail in the service reflects the care that is taken with the food. The proprietors clearly prioritise a relaxed atmosphere for their customers above maximum profit which would require more staff and result in a busier, frenetic and less enjoyable environment. The quality of the ingredients and their thoughtful combination is magical. I couldn’t pick a favourite course; they were all sublime, and the appetisers did their job - left us wanting more, setting the bar high and we were not disappointed. Low-key, non-intrusive music. I can’t wait to go back.
Fantastic food served by the most attentive waiter, wonderful fish, which you would never manage to recreate at home. Highly recommend, I'll be back as soon as I've saved up...
Absolutely fantastic set menu with incredible courses and a brilliant wine list. Service was exceptional and the environment perfect for dining in a relaxed atmosphere. Superb!
Wonderful food, wine and service, I would go again. We felt very looked after and relaxed throughout the whole meal. Please don’t hesitate to make a reservation.
What a beautiful relaxed delicious meal served impeccabley by Rob . Thank you for making my wife’s birthday special. The food was superb and the flavours from each course are exceptional.
This is a lovely little restaurant that offers a 5-set course dining experience for lovers of seafood. The monkfish and the strawberry dessert were the two standouts of the evening we went. Service was excellent, only one waiter on the 6-7 tables but everything was well timed and you didn't feel rushed or ignored.
Fantastic food and service. Food and wine the best. Third visit and not failed to impress. You will not be disappointed. Can’t wait for next visit.
Excellent cooking, great presentation and 1st class service. If you like Fish this is the place. Only reservation was a bit of a lack of atmosphere. So it’s all about the food. Which isn’t a bad thing.
Fabulous in every way. This restaurant excels in all areas. The food is of the very highest quality; innovative without ever pushing the point too far, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The ambiance inside is lovely; modern, surprisingly spacious and with precisely the right level of very tasteful background music. The service is faultless; attentive, subtle and all done with remarkable good-humor, ease and charm. The restaurant is located in a lovely quiet back street away from the bustle of the main road. One of the finest dining experiences I have ever encountered.
Excellent food and very friendly service. Perfect relaxed evening. A very nice pace to the meal and the variety of tastes and texture was excellent.

Great atmosphere and the service was impeccable. The food was incredible, the sequence of the dishes was very well chosen and the wine pairing spot on. This is the best fish we ever tasted, perfectly cooked and well balanced with great sauces. We will definitely come back.
Wonderful meal. Food amazing, and great service. Relaxed atmosphere. Excellent wine list. We had a gorgeous German rose. Small and not many covers, so need to book.
A memorable little restaurant. Fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere. Exquisite food, with delicious amouse bouches at the start. Great service. Very expensive but worth every penny!
Great food and friendly attentive service without being overbearing. Easily one of the best meals we have had in Brighton and we look forward to going back.
It is fantastic both for the cooking and unobtrusive service. It is a hidden gem, and the place to go for special occasions. We will definitely go back!
Superb experience. The fish was the star, but everything was well thought out and presented. Impeccable service. Would definitely like to go back very soon.
2nd visit . Brilliant food, great wine list and fantastic service . No wonder they are finally getting national acclaim. Not cheap by any means but great value.
Every mouthful absolutely delicious. The fish so fresh and perfectly cooked. A great atmosphere too, small and intimate but with friendly staff and a bit of a buzz.
Great atmosphere, awesome service and amazing food. Loved this restaurant, one of the best in Brighton. We had a fun and intimate anniversary meal, the food was delicious with perfect service and great wine pairing.
This is now our new favourite restaurant. In a quiet, subtle location, this unpretentious little haven is wonderful. With at tentative service, it is all about the sublime fresh food, taking your tastebuds to heaven. Can't recommend this enough and can't wait to go back.
Excellent food and service as always. A bit more expensive than previous visits but still worth every penny ! We hope to return very soon!
We were treated to the skills and flavours of Duncan the head Chef and owner of The Little Fish Market in Hove it was a gastronomic pleasure. Rob, front of house spoilt us and made us feel like we were the only people on the restaurant and guided us through the menu and best wines and treats to accompany each plate. A rare pleasure, thank you!
We've been there twice and both times we experienced absolutely stunning food and exceptional service. Definitely recommended if you enjoy fish and seafood, and interesting flavour combinations.
We had to book way in advance, so it was eagerly anticipated. Relaxed atmosphere, amazing food and friendly attentive service made it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Will return.
Return visit and there will be more. Exquisite food and service. Great little local restaurant but still plenty of room between tables so don’t feel involved in conversation at next table.
Couldn't fault it one little bit. Food and service was second to none, highly recommend this place! We can't wait to go back again soon!
Nice place, nice food and nice service. The snacks look cute and taste amazing. Very good experience and would definitely recommend my friend to come.
Greeted at the door and chose our own table!! A glass of fizz and some bread arrived and it was amazing from that moment on. Rob was attentive and explained each dish as it arrived. Had 3 amuse bouche before the first course and we had chosen the wine flight and were as impressed by the food pairings as ever. Each course was sheer pleasure due to the quality of the ingredients and the genius of the chef. Thanks to Rob and Duncan for another memorable meal. Will return soon even if the menu is the same!!
Food was blinding...service was great too! The taster menu was nice size portions, well presented and a delight to eat. Will be coming back very soon!
A spectacular meal with spectacular service. Utterly faultless from start to finish. The fish, the sauces and the matching wines were all incredible. Highly recommended.
My first visit but definitely not my last! The food was exquisite, beautifully prepared and served and it was all delicious. Front of House staff were attentive without being annoying. A wonderful experience all round.
Perfect food, unobtrusive but friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere. Good selection of wines and delicious aperitifs. We left feeling well fed and looked after. Will definitely come back
Excellent food - a single set menu, of which each course tasted delicious, and a spacious, unhurried interior with friendly staff and a great choice of wine.
I really enjoyed the food. The wine we had was also lovely. I felt that it was a little understaffed, despite the lady doing an excellent job she was front of house and waitress for a full restaurant. The restaurant lacked something in the way of ambience. I can't put my finger on it.
Second time I’ve been - every course was fantastic , beautifully presented and tasted amazing . Service was excellent . Will definitely return again , worth the money for a special occasion
Great service and even better food. Birthday meal for my father who travelled all the way from Essex and he said that it’s the best meal he’s had in the 12 years that he’s been visiting me in Brighton. Faultless!
Excellent tasting menu for fish lovers. Disappointed the wine flight unavailable. Overall enjoyed the evening - small and a bit quirky. Good efficient and friendly service.
Another excellent meal at Little Fish Duncan serves up perfectly cooked and portioned fish the scallop was our favourite but hard to choose as everything was perfect really enjoyed the natural dessert wine. Thank you and see you soon
A fish lovers dream. The menu is set, so you have to be prepared to try something you might not normally have ordered. There were a couple of items I would not normally have ordered, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. & enjoyed every course. Everything was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented and very tasty. We booked the table for 9pm which was all that was available, I would hold out for an earlier sitting next time.
