The small village of Prestbury, north of Macclesfield, is home to a surprisingly powerful representation of Indian cuisine in the form of The Mint Indian Bar & Restaurant. Housed in a traditional, whitewashed manse on the New Road, the restaurant’s interior is sleek and understated, with a capacity of 70 seated diners and facilities to entertain large parties of up to 20 people. More importantly the food and service are of the highest quality, thanks to the Mint Restaurant family’s tendency to headhunt the best chefs and waitstaff. A big addition to the diminutive but high quality range of dining options in this corner of Cheshire, be sure to book ahead.
With its stylish decor and extensive menu of dishes from all over the Indian subcontinent, its no wonder that The Mint Indian Bar & Restaurant has quickly become a fixture in Prestbury. The perfect setting for a romantic date or for celebrating a special occasion with your loved ones, The Mint Indian Restaurant & Bar draws in diners from all over the Macclesfield area. Before you tuck into your main, whet your appetite with a selection of starters like lamb tikka and chilli fry – which consists of chicken breast pieces cooked in a mouth-watering sauce of sweet chillies and ground mustard.
We then recommend trying one of The Mint Indian Bar & Restaurant’s chef specials like the mint duck, butter chicken or lamb shank (lamb marinated with extracts of ginger, garlic, cumin and fresh green chilli with a medium spiced gravy), or a curry house classic like the rogan josh or korma. Is your mouth watering? Then book a table and head on over to this Prestbury hotspot now!
Always excellent food & service well worth a visit the best Indian in the Area with a nice contemporary decor. My son took all his friends who normally eat at the Indian restaurants in Macclesfield, they were very happy 😃 & agreed it’s the best. I am also returning with my husband this fri.
Great food and service with the bonus of a Christmas disco! Despite the restaurant being full, the service was speedy, efficient and friendly. A good night.
Really really good service and the food was excellent would defiantly be returning. Good selection of classic dishes and starters , well cooked and presented by the staff very well
The usual high level of service and great food. Draft Indian lager also served.
We enjoyed a delicious meal. The menu has a very good range of specialist dishes in addition to the traditional Indian favourites. The service was excellent and the restaurant has a very pleasant ambience. The best Indian food we have had for a very long time.
Excellent food and wine. Particularly liked the fact that food is served on individual plates rather than in a bowl which always takes up a lot of space on a table. However, the setting is stark with grey being the main colour. There is no warmth about the place.
We were given a friendly welcome. Draft Cobra was good ! Starters of lamb chop and The Mint kebab were very tasty. Mains of Haandi and prawn kebab were excellent. Overall a great experience.
restaurant lacking in ambiance. Where we sat seemed a little depressing as the walls, woodwork and pictures were all grey. But, the food was excellent and the staff attentive, although they might smile a little and be a little more interactive. Can certainly recommend the food, it was perfection.
One of the best curries I have had. Service was good and the wine was nice (just changing the wine menu) Well priced and would recommend. Would advice booking at weekends.
We had a lovely meal with excellent service. The quality of the food was first class and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Would definitely recommend. X
