The Mint Room – Clifton

Beautiful resturant , with lovely , friendly staff. The food was fabulous and although we had the starter menu the portions were very generous. We will be back.

We had a wonderful experience at this place. There were good varieties of vegetarian food and the food was amazing! The service was equally pleasing!

Service here can be a bit iffy sometimes the staff are just too busy other times it can be attentive. On a busy Saturday night, it was for us closer to attentive though at times you can see that some staff were a little harried / under pressure. The restaurant was very full with multiple table bookings and some parties so made for a lively atmosphere. Food was very good; scallops and monkfish to start we're both very good. Chicken lababdar was also good. Nice wine list too. Recommended for an upmarket Indian experience.

The food and atmosphere were amazing however we kept getting pushed to order the more expensive dishes and a lot more food than we needed, considering there was only 2 of us. However, because the food was really good I'm looking forward to going back for my graduation in a few months:)

Great birthday celebration meal. Fabulous food and friendly and attentive staff. Indian food with a difference. Subtle flavours, beautifully presented. Would definitely go again and recommend.

Sublime food, ambiance and service. The taster menu should not be missed. Parking nearby is an issue, limited pay and display bays, the majority are "Residents only" and only become free at 9pm. However, all said and done my favourite Indian restaurant in Bristol - I have been to many!

The food was fantastic. It was my birthday and I only mentioned it in conversation during our main meal then for desert they brought out a lovely desert with a candle and sang happy birthday. It was very unexpected and very appreciated. Can't wait to go back for more delicious food :)

Delicious food with a great choice on the menu. The restaurant has a lovely ambience and the staff were very attentive. It was perfect for a romantic dinner.

The food here is very much a fusion of Indian and Western, and it works! There were 2 of us and we had different starters and mains - all were excellent. For dessert, we had 3 different flavours of icecreams and these were all very good and rounded the meal off nicely.

We had the £35pp sampling menu, which was tasty overall, especially the starters. Good service, but the staff weren't as attentive as they could've been.

Great food, good service and lovely ambiance. Few possibly new serving staff there and it was a bit muddled at first, few dropsies which made the whole restaurant jump, and we felt they could have bent the rules and made my friend an onion baji for a starter seeing as they were available on one of the mains, but hey said no... Other than that it was a great night and much enjoyed.

This is definitely an Indian restaurant not a curry house. The décor is tasteful, the food is VERY tasteful and the staff very efficient and attentive. A great venue for a family celebration or couples night out (They put a complimentary dessert in front of our son which was a lovely touch as we hadn't mentioned it was his birthday, they picked it up from our conversation) A Very Enjoyable Evening, Great Food. The only reason I have not awarded The Mint Room top marks is because of parking difficulties (But that's Clifton for you. Out of their control) We will definitely go back again.

Delicious but spicy food. Staff a little bit too attentive! Felt like we were being watched. Also had a little issue with not getting a full bottle of wine. Would still recommend

A fantastic meal as always. Took a few friends for their first visit who all thought the food was excellent , very different to your standard Indian restaurant. Everyone had a great time, attentive and friendly service .

This restaurant won the Best Indian category in the Bristol Good Food Awards for 2016, so we were looking forward to something special. Unfortunately we didn't find it. The service was good, but the food was uninspiring.

The food was excellent, 5* for food! However, as well as ordering 2 cokes, I asked for water as it is normally something to have alongside paid drinks. I was charged £5.50 for the water without even being told it wasn't free. In principle, this is very opaque, which is never good! I was offered 'still water' or 'sparkling water'. Assuming sparkling would come at a price, it was not explained clearly that still was also a charge. £5.50 is a small amount, but in principle, it was very poor, and caused confrontation.

Always lovely food and friendly staff. A cut above any other Indian restaurant and all about proper spices, flavours and presentation. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Lovely atmosphere and greeting upon arrival. A little slow at drinks orders. Knowledgeable about menu. Lovely food but a little pricey. Food was absolutely delicious and we will return.

Absolutely perfect. We had the tasting menu which was beyond our expectations. The fish in particular was exceptional. The decor was unusual with bicycles on the wall, but it made for good conversation 10/10

Lovely meal, very good service. Lovely fresh ingredients. I had a Jalfrezi which was good, my wife had a Seafood Moilee which she liked very much and which we hadn't had before. All in all - great experience.

We visited on a Monday evening - the restaurant was not busy but the ambience lends itself to a warm inviting environment despite that. The 4 of us had the tasting menu (7 courses, £35 per head) which was excellent. the flavours were sensational and the presentation visually excellent. The service was attentive without being intrusive and the birthday of one of our group was recognised with a special desert. All in all I would highly reccomend the Mint Room -- I know that we will definitely be going back!

A very enjoyable lunch with some good flavours it was a shame our table of 4 was the only one occupied. A better time to go would be for dinner.

Went for a Valentine's meal. Both really enjoyed it and would definitely go again! Great food, (catered for vegetarians too ) and very good service!

Very attentive and friendly welcoming staff, the service was good. Tasteful decor. The food was tasty and well presented and we didn't have to wait long.

Really friendly, funny, respectful staff. Managed the turn a round very quickly, we got our table after a very short wait once we'd entered. The food was exceptional! Best Indian food I've ever had - salmon was cooked to perfection. Wait in-between the courses coming out was timely, allowing for our food to settle before devouring the next delicious meal they offered. Very reasonably priced menu considering it was Valentine's day. Would highly recommend and will most definitely be visiting the restaurant again!

Absolutely amazing experience, the food, the staff & the atmosphere was fantastic. It was our anniversary & they surprised us with a conplimentary dessert with 'happy anniversary' written around it. So lovely of them. Would 100% go back.

Splendid restaurant, great Indian cuisine - unfair to compare with other Indian restaurants as would be like comparing an awesome Steakhouse to a chain burger joint. Highly recommended.

Great food, great service, great ambiance. Highly recomended. Second time I've visited in the space of one month, both times every aspect of the experience was top notch.

We had the 7 course tasting menu and that turned out to be a great choice. Excellent quality and a very good way to try a variety of dishes. The only slight downside was that due to bare walls, lack of drapes and carpet the noise levels were a bit on the high side. Having said that it is fairly common in a lot restaurants today but does detract from the overall ambience and ease of having conversation at the table. We do tend to not return to such places, but the food here was so good it will be a difficult decision!

It was a great experience. The staff were super friendly and catered to my vegan needs. The chef came over and spoke to us and asked if all was ok. All in all great experience and would recommend this definitely.

Great food in a special setting. Nice to be able to relax with a drink in the lounge after the meal. Service was very good.

Had a great meal, the staff offer exceptional service and the food was full of vibrant and wonderful flavours. Portion sizes were ideal and the cocktails were well made. A special thank you to the front of house staff, they made the effort to engage us and definitely made the experience even better. Would go again!
