Food was great, but was sometimes difficult to grab the attention of the servers if we needed anything extra such as extra sauces or more drinks

The food was very good, with a good choice of delicate meals. The staff was very friendly. A couple of mishaps due to the quick opening after the new year's break but really nothing problematic. Will return there as often as possible.

Bad food bad service. Tasting menu isn't worth visiting for. Was there for 3 hours before we even got to our 1st dessert because of the wait on food

The Monro's website has a good section on dietary needs, catering for customers with Coeliac Disease, which was why we chose it. When we asked for the Gluten free menu, it was basically the same items from the Sunday lunch menu but without the Gluten products. So, a roast beef and Yorkshire pudding meal was served without the Yorkshire pudding. It looked a bit sparse ! I would have expected there to be Gluten free meal options, rather than the same courses minus certain items. Quality of the food cannot be faulted

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Munro. The food was delicious and very good value. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient without feeling rushed. Although the bar was busy, this did not affect noise levels in the dining room.

Excellent food, service and a really welcoming environment. Only problem was trying to pay - it took a while to receive and pay the bill.

Great experience. Good service and food in a friendly atmosphere. Staff couldn't be more helpful. As is often the case, we would appreciate more clarity on vegan options.

Great ambience, delightful smell of wood burning fire and good food well prepared and presented. I was looking for a quintessentially English gastro pub for some overseas clients .... it definitely hit the mark.

Food quality very good, but main course served warm, not hot, and then served the wrong dessert, for it to be taken away and replaced once half way through.

The new menu is very small. The portion size is also smaller. We waited nearly an hour for out main course and hadn't ordered a starter. The food was delicious when it came out.

The service was not up to the usual standard, we had to keep reminding the waitress to bring our order. The food was good but could have done with being a bit hotter.

Ordered a pint of lager. No lager. All gone after bank holiday weekend!!! Gastropub -a joke. Table for 2 booked. Sitting in the middle of the room surrounded by noisy tables of 8. Not my idea of ambience. We did not stay but paid for our drinks and moved on.

My friends and I really enjoyed are trip to the Monro. We would go again. The food was delicious and exciting. Just felt a little cold. The heating could have been a little hotter, but this did not spoil my visit.

My wife and I dined early evening on Saturday 22nd October, and as usual the food, wine and service were excellent. Our starters arrived promptly, and the monkfish scampi which we both selected for main course was tasty, substantial and well-cooked. Although the restaurant and bar were busy, we were under no pressure to vacate the table, having asked when it was required, and we both really enjoyed the occasion, and will be returning.

Took my parents for Sunday lunch the service was ok but the meat was fatty and tough, roast potatoes tasted like they had been warmed up. Dessert was good. Disappointing all round.

The food was good, the environment was also very good, the only issue was the situation of our table, too near the bar and therefore noisy. As there was only two of us it was difficult to talk, if we had been a larger group the noise level may not have mattered as much. Would prefer to sit it the other room next time, but will be back on the 12th November with some family members - looking forward to that.
