We traveled up from Edinburgh, first experience in the Mustard Seed. We were not disappointed, the quality of food and service was excellent, especially the home made cheese cake (5 star). We will return!!!!! Dawn & Aly Stewart 9.2.24

Usually very good but soup had to be returned as it was lukewarm - main was ok - coffee came before dessert & again had to be returned as cold - they said the person making the coffee was reasonably new to the job but that’s surely where adequate training should come into play for him before being launched into pole position- not really fair to pin the blame on him - in fairness they did make another one & did not charge for the 1st one but we could see our hot drinks were ready on the counter for a few minutes before they came to us - our overall experience was disappointing in comparison to other visits we have made - we felt very rushed throughout - it’s a lovely setting - good ambience & the staff always very helpful friendly and accommodating but on this occasion it just didn’t work for us which was a shame because it’s always previously been our default choice for a special occasion dinner

A beautiful restaurant with warm and attentive staff. The atmosphere was cosy and exactly what we needed on a rainy Monday. Had the roast chicken breast with potatoes and bacon cream sauce and it was perfectly tender and succulent with balanced seasoning. Staff were also lovely with our baby. Will definitely be back again!

Staff were very attentive with great customer service. Food was lovely and slightly different to other restaurants. The kids meal was also varied and met the needs of our 4 year old. Restaurant provided lovely surroundings.

Went last night to celebrate a special Anniversary. We were greeted by very friendly staff who all took time for a chat. The food was fantastic and service was excellent, restaurant was extremely busy. Excellent value for money too, will definitely return

Disappointed in the sea bass. My cat would have had more of a serving. Staff excellent though but man on till replies ‘ok’ when I said I was disappointed.

The food was very good and the staff were excellent. An enjoyable experience.

Enjoyed the early evening meal and the atmosphere. The food was good and tasty. Always very noisy - I had forgotten - but doesn't stop me going. A little disappointed that as I can't eat tomatoes which were in my first course and I had asked if I could have another veg. instead - the dish arrived simply minus tomatoes and no substitute. I love the fire downstairs, and the views upstairs are great if you are near the window. Marked the 'service down' as I prefer to have one waiter/waitress to deal with so mistakes like above (with the tomatoes) are less likely. We had at least four people serve us.

The only thing that concerned us was the young waitress that was looking after our table. Not once she smiled not even any recommendation on what to have. Very poor customer service from her. Everybody else was spot on, interested in our group. See you soon

Staff were all very friendly, and the restaurant itself was very nice. The starter I had was very tasty, it was the black and white pudding tart. Unfortunately my main meal of risotto was not nice, it was all mushy and lacked any flavour, my partner had the meatloaf main and said it wasn’t very nice either, unfortunately we wouldn’t be rushing back to eat here again.

Service was fabulous as was the food, we will be back.

My girlfriend and I went for a meal on Saturday night and both the food and service were exceptional. Staff were all so welcoming and friendly. Big shout out to the barman who made the best espresso martinis!
