This place deserves its reputation for innovation and excellence in Inverness. The food is great—we had daily specials, one scallops, one duck breast—and the service is both friendly and professional.
Lovely fresh fish and excellent service. Clearly marked menu for allergies.
My husband and I had chosen the salmon. The salmon was alright, but the tenderstem broccoli, 2 peaces, was undercookt. The patatoos were alright, but also a very small portion! And that for 25 pounds! The Eton mess I had afterwards was doeble crean with strawberries and a little bit merinque. I wish it had some icecream...it was very heavy.
First Class, great customer experience. 10/10 very, very good. Thank you.
Always enjoy a visit to the Mustard Seed. Great service.
Enjoyed a great meal with visiting family. Nice wine selection. We ordered off both the early diner menu and specials board. Waitress was friendly and fun. Good prices. Great atmosphere. Once again a fantastic experience for us.
good but nothing special; they took our reservation at 9pm and all the speciale of the day were finished
We had to wait for a table despite booking but once seated we had very attentive service, friendly and helpful, and a lovely meal
The standard of service and quality of the food is excellent. The Mustard Seed is our best place to go and eat when in Inverness. Very easy to book online.
We were glad they could change our reservation to the next night after they had kitchen trouble on the night of our original reservation. The mussels were amazing, the venison came out undercooked, and the Monkfish and Salmon were excellent. Our server, Angelina(?), was extremely helpful, fun, and made the dining experience even better.
The mustard Seed is a must visit while in Inverness. Food, service and drinks all great. We had view of river that was great. Highly recommended!I would definitely get the Negroni!
I went to the Mustard Seed with three friends and we all enjoyed our meal. It was busy, and noisy with a birthday party going on, but it wasn't a problem and we could easily hear our conversations. The only down side was that we were so close to the table next to us that when one of the folk sitting there wanted to get out from his seat, I had to get out of mine to let him out. This happened on three occassions during our meal. Everything else was great.
A lovely airy place. Greeted at the bar and shown to table. Starters of buffalo cauliflower wings and pea and lemon bites and mains of sea bass and hake were wonderfully flavourful. Service second to none. Will definitely be coming back here again. Thank you Mustard Seed.
Service was fine and the atmosphere nice, but the set lunch was mediocre at best. I left most of my sea bass.
I feel as the Mustard Seed isn't what it used to be. They have now cheaper cuts of meat that are the same old prices of the fillet steak that used to be on their menu. I wasn't happy with 2 meals from the specials. Barnacles on my mussels and brown lettuce as my salad. I ordered scallops and I must say, they were the smallest scallops I have ever seen. Used to be our go to for a family meal. Not anymore.
My food was great though one or two of my companions thought it was ok. Service was extremely good!
Excellent food, outstanding service, overall a very enjoyable dining experience.
I always have a good meal at The mustard seed! Staff are amazing too. 2 Courses is amazing value, party of 3 left very happy!
Service and food were great! We highly recommend this restaurant.
This is my partner's favourite restaurant in Inverness but I don't think it is worth the prices they charge - over £8 for a spring roll in my opinion is very expensive.
We had a two course lunch for 3 of us. Two had soup. The main courses were all different.
Such a popular restaurant can get v busy so service a bit slow sometimes but always good food.
Great food, atmosphere and service as always. Enjoyed the whole experience.
We had a wonderful dinner but even better was how kind the host was that night -- he gave us a list of music places to check out after our dinner. Going the extra mile! Much appreciated!
The restaurant ran out of food, the service was slooooooowwww, had to ask for things (water, a knife, etc) multiple times
Thank you for a lovely lunchtime, both food and service were great.
As always, lovely dining experience - great food and warm, friendly service. Never fails to be an enjoyable lunch.
Meal was excellent always a great atmosphere. Should have a choice of main and dessert instead of starter and main
Excellent dinner, good wine and fabulous staff - winning combo
The meal and service and the whole experience as a whole was amazing, brilliant place to celebrate anniversary.
Always a pleasure eating here..one of our favourite places in Inverness
Excellent food. So so busy at 6pm which gave the restaurant a great buzz!
The steak was a bit tough. Our bread plates were taken away early whilst there was still bread left. Otherwise, the food was acceptable.
Only disappointment was the wait for our food. Order possibly overlooked. It was 8.15pm before we got our starters.
Usual great food and service. Staff are fantastic from the second you step through the door. Great choice on the lunch menu, both courses beautifully presented and were very tasty. I finished off with a cappuccino. I was just under £30 for Haggis bon bons, main of Thai Red Curry Sea Bass with rice along with a side of house salad and a Diet Coke. Absolutely worth every penny. I'll definitely be back.
Excellent food with great service. Throughly enjoyed our lunch & will be back.
Always a great dining experience with friendly efficient staff, a relaxing atmosphere and great food. Would always reconnect the Mustard Seed.
Very much enjoyed our dinner. The Carrot-Cumin Soup was delicious, as was the Chicken Balmoral; very hearty. Our wait person was very friendly and helpful; we were trying to guess her accent; after several attemps she finally told us she was from Romania. Wonderful person. Wonderful restaurant!
Very pleasant, tables quite close together. Lovely meal. Pricey wine
The food at the Mustard Seed is always so tasty
was our favourite resraurants in town, poor table service now,
Thanks for a lovely meal. We enjoyed ourselves and the service was especially great!
Over 20 minutes before someone took our order. Food was underwhelming. It was not bad. Just not as good as it used to be. We feel this may be due to keeping prices down. Other good restaurants in Invernes and everywhere else in UK have had to put prices up, but increases in Mustard Seed have been minimal. Perhaps an increase in prices is overdue?
This restaurant is constantly booked up and probably trades a lot off its reputation. It was okay but not the best place we have eaten (the steak was tough - prob not tenderised) but the river view is nice if you can get one of those tables and the service and the rest of the food we ate was good.
Very busy so service a bit slow. Wrong starter brought (fish cake instead of spring rolls). Otherwise good; food tasty and friendly waitress.
Wonderful setting, food and service. And reasonable prices. Book in advance as very popular with us locals.....
Stressed service and starters before both Negroni and white wine. Food OK
Good food, Great ambiance very convenient to the railroad station
A bit understaffed in The Mustard Seed last Friday, so service, though apologetic, slow. Good wine, place not too busy which is good as the open plan can make it noisy sometimes. We‘ve been going now and again for many years, and as non-meat-eaters it‘s never been the greatest menu. Decent but hardly spectacular. Staff all lovely but no sense of anyone overseeing or supervising. They need to up their game.
Excellent meal, excellent service, good wine. We are local regulars and we keep going back.
