The Red Lion Tamworth

My meal was not great tbh , the cottage pie didn't taste anything like cottage pie it had very strange taste , veg was overcooked . They replaced my meal with fish and chips , the batter was dripping in yellow oil and the fish was slimy and very fishy didnt look like Cod at all ,so didn't finish it. however other members of party said theres was okay apart from steak burger meal lacked appeal , guiness was good and the sticky toffee was yum ..Im thinking it was a Saturday and maybe rushed ?I wasn't charged for meal and I didn't tell them about fish as well was embarrassing and my social anxieties couldn't cope with another issue

I visited the Red Lion on Monday 6th Feb. Another amazing meal. Excellent staff served by Jess Lucy and Mark. What I love about the pub is that all the meals come out hot unlike other places. You get a nice amount on your plate, it's not like other places where food is just heated its cooked fresh. Well done everyone

The food was lovely but the service not quite right. Some tables got waiter service so we sat patiently for some one to come over only to be told we had to order at the bar. The food came out quickly and was delicious and piping hot.

The food was good and the service was great. We will be back again soon

I have just got home from a lovely lunch at the Red Lion. Jess on the bar gave excellent customer service. She was very pleasant. Also had good waitress service from Remi. Our food was beautiful and very tasty. A good selection to choose from on the menu. They have lots of choices to choose from . Well done Red Lion

Lovely village pub in a lovely setting, the pub is spotlessly clean with a wide choice of home cooked food & there is always a good variety of dishes on the specials board, they cater for all dietary requirements, vegan etc. The staff are super helpful & friendly, I would recommend you book a table as the pub is very popular x

It was my 1st time at The Red Lion. Was very impressed. music not to load , excellent service without feeling rushed. Good selection on menu, and specials board. The best was still to come, food arrived well presented , fresh and hot. BONUS well done. good sized portions. Was made to feel welcome. Will definitely come again.

Lovely food and staff as always. Just a tad upset as honeycomb sundae not available but the orange and choc chip cake was a scrumptious substitute.

Cut a long post short . As I was going to write a lengthy one . Not the best of first impressions , food was okay , service not bad , atmosphere okay . Probably won't visit again . Short and sweet . 6 out of 10 at a push .
