We celebrated my Daughter's 13th Birthday with family and friends the food,service and value for money was outstanding . We will definitely be back

The rustic bread starter was delicious, so much so that it spoiled my appetite for the main course which was equally delicious but the serving was (for me) too big. The only negative I have is that I prefer gravy served seperately so I can choose where to put it but the kitchen had been sensible and not drowned the meal so it was OK on this occasion.

Nobody to welcome when we arrived and nobody behind the bar but we figured out that names were written on tables, peas were a bit hard for our liking but all in all a nice evening and we will definitely comeback and be highly recommended. Kind regards John.

Enjoyed the visit & the meal. Nice & hot plates which kept the food hot. All were tasty. Cottage pie, gammon, chicken & leek pie, sweet & sour chicken. Meringue was a bit on the small size but the ice cream was nice. We liked the new layout but thought they could have changed the carpet. It let the area down. We would go back & recommend to friends.

Food very nice although for us one portion of chips would have been enough for 2 of us. Staff very friendly and place nice inside having recently been refurbished. Will definitely go again.

We had our sit down wedding day here 30 years ago so many special memories of this pub, we came a few weeks ago and had s meal which was lovely, then my husbands mum passed away so we decided to have a small wake here after the funeral where we had buffet food, this again was excellent and good value for money, yesterday we had sunday lunch again lovely. The pub as excellent facilities for children outside and a lovely seating area next to the canal for a relaxing afternoon. If the weather is good its perfect and well worth a visit anytime of the week.

Initial drinks and starter were good however both main courses came and were a very poor standard. We approached the manager and explained the steaks were cooked incorrectly and could not be eaten, no apology given instead we were asked ‘what do you want me to do?’ then he took one steak away and said I will cook it a bit more. The other steak that was over cooked could not be rectified therefore we ended our evening early and decided to not eat either main course and leave.
