Good food (although smaller portions would have been appreciated by some of our party), good beer, good service. And that's all I need to say.

We went for vegan week and it was fantastic! So nice to see somewhere like this doing a vegan week (all vegan specials and desserts!) The jackfruit fish was INSANE! One of the best vegan dishes we've ever tried. If only it was vegan week every week!!!

Great service, great food (huge portions!!!!), great range of beers (fabulous stouts/porters/pale ales), great atmosphere. We will definitely be returning on next trip to Southampton.

I think the vegetarian option was a little tasteless. Jxr The combination of a vegetable burger and a pretty bland stuffing g patty was a little uninspiring g. I think that the overall combination of Yorkshire pudding and these two parties Needed something to lift it up a bit more. This meal did not compare very well with the previous vegetarian burger with the inclusion of gerkin and salad or the very tasty cheddar that was included.

Food was excelllent. Bit confused about whether we needed to order at the bar as our food order was taken at the table but that was it.

The food was really nice it was just quite crowded but I love that they're doing a vegan week! Would definitely go again, maybe on a week day when it's not as busy.

Always great value, great food, great beer and friendly staff. A Southampton landmark... I've been about 20 times,. (I'll be back again soon) and never disappoints. :) Thanks Rockstone.

The service was friendly, the portions were huge and the beer selection was really impressive. We will definitely go back next time we're in Southampton.

Great food, great drink, great atmosphere! Everyone's so friendly and the burgers are amazing! We recommend the Charlie and the Chorizo burger and the Dead Mangoes Chest burger! Awesome!!!!

I'm sure the food might be good, but the prices were scary! I ended up leaving the place, out of my budget. But I would like to go back there at when I'm rich

Great food, especially the unusually good vegan and vegetarian selection. The best range is probably the best in Southampton. Staff are always friendly too. The best pub in the city!

Food was great. Staff were great. Ales were great. Really good place to go if you're hungry. You will not leave hungry! Masssive portions! Great

They had run out of the Roast Traumatic Stress Burgers when we got there, which was the reason for the visit, but that's the only complaint. The food we had was belt-bustingly delicious, the beer was of a great selection, the staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable (especially Christopher) and the music caused more than one outbreak of air guitar. Fantastic place, will be going back.... hunting the thus-far illusive RTS Burger!

Good varied burger menu and tasty food. Excellent range of well kept real ales. Add to that very friendly and efficient service and you have yourself a very enjoyable evening out

The bar staff are efficient and friendly, with a quick service supplied, whether for food or drink. The atmosphere is friendly with people determined to have a pleasant experience. The food is great tasting with enough variation available to suit most tastes. Only let down is the furnishings. Namely the carpet. You should not be sticking to the floor as you walk through, and it should not still be on the base of your shoes after you have left the establishment. In many places it is looking very tired. It is beyond being due for a change, but ignore that and you will have a good night, and if you can take advantage of the offers then an even better one is waiting for you.

Excellent food (particularly the giant burgers!) good choice of beers and spirits, with friendly staff who seem to know a lot about what they're selling. Definitely recommended. Quieter than I've seen it but that's to be expected on a Tuesday night in January!

Excellent place, large ever-changing selection of real ales and amazing burgers. You should definitely try the sweet potato fries, probably the best I've ever had.

Always a great place to go for a huge meal and great beer. We decided to visit with friends due to the amazing vegan selection - there is something for everyone. Super friendly and attentive staff.

The food was amazing. We had burgers and I had the crazy Heart attack hotel which was just the tastiest burger that I have ever had. Go there. You won't be disappointed! x

Delicious food. Friendly staff. Quick service. Good selection of drinks. Didn't get around to trying the puddings as was to full from the burgers. Recommend.

Had a great night food was great and good atmosphere, only downside was a bit chilly so make sure you take a cardi if it's chilly outside 🙂

Very easy to book, no problems at all with the reservation. The pub staff is really friendly and the food was served nice a quickly. The ambience at the bar was fantastic for a Tuesday, will definitely come back.

The table wasn't ready for us when we arrived but the staff worked quickly to sort this out. The food and service was outstanding. I would definitely recommend it.

Great burgers and superb range of drinks including at least 6 well kept real ales, ciders, and a huge gin and rum selection. Top notch!

Food is amazing. Couldn't face a desert after eating such a huge meal. Service was quick although they forgot about us once our food was served.

Still amazing. Improbably large but very high quality, burgers and a fantastic, friendly staff. The bottled beer list is positively dangerous! I cannot recommend it highly enough.

We chose to go there based on other excellent reviews. All in all it was Ok. Tables sticky, environment loud ... Heavy Metal music, waiter passing by a little too often without asking us, if we could have been helped. The Steak was cooked en point, meat Ok, salad Ok. Probably more suitable for people who looking for very big portions, not taking care so of the environment. After all - it was worth to give it a try.

All the food was delicious! Seitan steak a little overdone but very tasty. All came very quickly - making up for last visit. Prices could be cheaper with a slightly smaller portion size...

i was not impressed with the vegan food and the service in general was poor. Whilst it was a 2 week vegan the person serving us simply put the normal menus on the table, that had very few options on vegan and it was us that saw on the wall the list of the vegan dishes you were offering. We were told we could have sweet potato fries but the lady didn't tell us about the £2 extra charge for it. There was no offer to desert , we ate paid the bill and left. Will not come back because food was nothing special and service was very poor.

Tried vegan week 3 courses.... 2 were great and 1 wasn't to my taste but amazing effort!!

Very large portions, excellent burgers. Good range of burgers and extras, with a surprising range of vegan/vegetarian burgers. My order (which had a bunch of changes and sides) was messed up and had to be sent back, but it was quick. Dirty fries were nice but lacked seasoning. Rolls for burgers were not properly toasted and thus became soggy and disintegrated.

This pub restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, good food, especially the starters, and a wide range of craft ales to try. We went during vegan week, which coincided with three family birthdays.

Great selection of beers and spirits. Standard menu caters very well for vegans & vegetarians; the special menu for their vegan week even more so!

Excellent Vegan menu, I had the Beet steak. Only complaint was it was far too much 😁 the staff kindly wrapped the rest to go and so I purchased take out cheeseless NY cheese cake as well. Looking forward to vegan week 5.0.

Fab food, great atmosphere and lovely staff have been here a few times with my work family and will be coming back again in November.

Great student-esq pub, incredible vegan options - the food is huge and the service was very friendly! Would thoroughly recommend. Free parking after 6pm just north of the pub - opposite Aldi: Bervois Valley road car park.

YUM! very happy to have gone on vegan week so I could enjoy a delicious seitan burger. Will have to go again before the week ends!

​Fantastic value for money. The food was wonderful too. Bearing in mind our party consisted of a "conservative" 79 year old, a vegetarian, a vegan and 2 carnivores, everyone was very happy with their food choices.

Always a thoroughly enjoyable evening, with good food, a great selection of beer (and other drinks) and helpful staff. The burgers really should be sampled as these are no American-style greasy cheeseburgers!

Vegan week menu was fantastic, great range, delicious food and plentiful portions. They adapted kids menu to this as well. Staff were really helpful. Only issue was taco's were really spicy when they were billed as BBQ, asked about it and was told others didn't find them spicy, they really were! Would definitely go back

Lovely vegan food with a large selection of burgers. The service was ok. I think the tables could be replaced as they were all sticky!

Love this place, have been a regular visitor for few years, never ve been disappointed. Absolutely in-love with vegan week (being vegan myself) great place overall, only suggestion would be to get a bit more wine for you to choose from. Many thanks for keeping up the standards and serving one of the best vegan burgers
