It was a great opportunity for friends to finally get together and lunch! Fabulous company, great service and lovely, lovely food! We hope to lunch on a more regular basis after a very relaxed afternoon.

Slow inattentive staff, food average not worth the price compared to other S.E pubs. Rude staff. Arrived 5 mins early to reservation, after saying I had a table booked to who appeared to be the manager. He looked at the computer and said " yeah in 5 minutes" turned his back and walked off.

Lovely food, nice service. Only minor ing, we were squashed onto a small table (5 of us) and asked if we could move to the roomier table next to us. We were told, sorry no, it was booked, when actually it was empty two hours later when we left.

Great lunch for five, slightly spoiled with stone cold expressos and an incorrect bill. Lovely food though on a depressingly wet, grey afternoon. Table at 3pm missed the main lunchtime rush.

Great service, lovely food and a very handsome pub! Pizzas are delicious as are their roasts. They also have a new outside area which looks nice and we plan to go there again when the weather improves. They welcome well behaved kids and made space for our two buggies which was very helpful.

I always enjoy this restaurant. It is quite loud, but it's child friendly, so be prepared to speak a bit more loudly with your fellow diners. We decided to go a bit later than normal and opted for 15:30 and found this past Sunday that it was still very busy. My only complaint, which was immediately rectified, was that drinks were added to our bill that weren't ours. The waitress corrected the situation, but it was still incorrect, so she fixed it again. My only comment would be on busy days to make sure you check your bill in case this sort of thing happens to you. The food has been consistently above average every time we have dined here!

Exceeded my expectations once again. Great food and lovely wait staff and it is very much geared towards kids. So great to find a pub that offers great good, great service and is child-friendly. Thanks!

Great lunch at the Rosendale - we were well looked after and the roast chicken was perfect for a wintry Sunday. We'll be dining there again.

Food was good, although table wasn't ready in time for reservation and got charged ect for items that said they came with the meal in the menu. Also dislike service charge is added on automatically, however you can ask for it to be removed.

Good food but we had a very bad table which spoiled our lunch. We were tucked away at the back of the room and it felt rather like a cafeteria.

A party of six enjoyed the overall experience of the Rosendale with a great Sunday lunch,we six thought the table arrangements were too close for comfort and felt more like sardines packed in rather than worthy diners with a little elbow room.We are pondering. K

Great food, nice service and good for kids but they were very busy on a Saturday lunchtime and once our mains had arrived we were pretty much abandoned... Gave up on pudding and just tried to flag someone down for the bill! Would try again but hope it's less busy or they have more staff...

The food is always great that can not be faulted but on the last three occasions that we have been there the service in the kitchen has not been great. This time round we waited 45min for our starter, both of which was not something that required cooking so very confused why it took so long, then the main came out 5-10min straight after the starter, I'm not sure about everyone else but I prefer a little wait between course. To top it all off we were seated in front of a table of kids which kept going in and out and bumping into my table and back of the chair. Overall good was great but total experience was not.

Second time here for Sunday roast, and this time we brought friends. The roast is very good - both meat and the veg. We tucked in for the afternoon/early evening and had a great time. The staff were generally friendly and service was prompt and efficient. Will definitely return.

Although the main meal was really nice the service was awful, mains forgotten, chasing up drinks orders after half an hour and although we were wanting dessert no one came to take our order. Also a 3 year old kids birthday party was in there at Sunday lunch time with a punch and duty show and kids were screaming so you couldn't even talk after lunch. Nothing against the kids just not really appropriate to have a 3 year old birthday party with Punch and Judy and loud music in the centre of the pub, if there was a private room then that's fine.

The Rosedale is a great place to eat with good food for a reasonable price. Service is very good and there is a decent wine list. if the weather is good, you can get a table outside and you can even bring your dog to the bar area!

Great food, our goats cheese mousse was fab and then we enjoyed hake and trout for lunch. Unfortunately the service was both slow and disinterested which stopped a top score.

Food good - waitress rather down in the dumps. We've been here a few times and it's very local for us. It gets pretty busy on Sunday lunchtimes but if you don't have kids and want a bit of quiet it's best to book after 1 when the families thin out.

Great fresh food, good service, but disappointed with the kids fairly cake- gradually get smaller and tastless - it doesn't look and taste special anymore, comparing to few months ago! Did complain to the kitchen, so hope it change for better!

I regularly eat here but last night was really disappointing. I think they were over stretched due to a wedding and a full restaurant. Food quality and service were both poor.

A very limited vegetarian choice and 60 dead butterflies framed on the wall. Why? Could have wider options. The waitress however was friendly and efficient.

Lovely Sunday dinner, service was pretty good considering it was so busy, the gardens are ideal for people with kids and cateers for all ages. The only downfall was the entrance to the garden from the pub was closed and there was no outdoor table service due to staff shortage, which is why I scored a 4

We last visited the Rosendale two weeks earlier and came back with a larger party. Booked table and high-chair in advance which was wise for a busy Sunday lunchtime. Delicious Roast Chicken - gargantuan portions, Roast Beef and the famous burger were preceded by a lovely sharing platter of flat breads and tasty dips. Happy, helpful staff and a great cheerful chattery buzz in main dining room. Other tables filled with family groups of all generations. Highly recommended.

Very enjoyable, relaxed Sunday lunch. Traditional roasts washed down with English Mimosa cocktails - even perfect summer weather (how did they manage that?). Garden packed with groups of families and friends all with the obligatory rugrat. Fantastic play area to amuse them. Will be back...

The lady who helped us switch tables (we had a dog and I didn't mention when booking) was very friendly and efficient and the waitress who took our order very professional and friendly. Overall it was a good experience and I enjoyed my veggie roast - however, my friend's lamb was tough and unpleasant and my husband said that his beef was average. The complaint about the lamb was dealt with very well but the team were at times difficult to get hold off and we had to call them over rather than have them ask us if we wanted more drinks etc. I would go again but I've had better experiences there.
