Service and hospitality was really good. The food is absolutely tasty. The naga lamb was a big hit for me. It's a must visit when in London.
Good food and attentive service. Really happy we booked. By the time we left the place was full. Would go back again if we were in the area.
We were a group of 5 for lunch on a Wednesday. restaurant was empty. We thought the service was good and the food was great!
I only chose this restaurant due to it's immediate proximity to Waterloo station, however it turned out to be brilliant! Our crowd have had lots of curries in lots of London curry restaurants over too many years and this is now one of our new favourites - lots of dishes you've not heard of before, which were all great, plus the menu also had all the usual favourites if you'd prefer to stick to that! Good friendly service too, even though they were very busy, by the way.
Décor a little scruffy but the food was excellent. The restaurant was "buzzing" which is always a good sign. I will definitely be visiting again in the not too distant future.
As always, a very good traditional Indian restaurant - the duck dupiaza a regular favourite. Service friendly and quick. Tables close together, so quite noisy, but a good atmosphere.
Great for a decent curry. Good food, very amicable service. Reasonable price- perhaps a little more expensive than it could have been. Overall no complaints.
Excellent, highly recommended. Only reason for no 5 star rating is lack of choice I was given as to seating: would have preferred a table less close to the kitchen: but not a huge issue
Some of the descriptions in the menu weren't clear about what was in the dish, but very good food and good service, quick and helpful.
Fantastic food and service once again!! A gem in the heart of Waterloo. Everything perfect for our needs - early dinner and centrally located for all.
good food and service . We booked as it was very busy and you did feel that they wanted you to move on to free tables but again this was managed well
Good food. The service was friendly, but a little slow at times. Interesting duck and lamb options. Two chillie items are quite hot for some.
Loved it! The Bangledeshi-Indian combination produces some wonderful food. Nice casual place right by Waterloo station and near the County Hall / London Eye area.
Nice and friendly. The food was delicious . Could do with opening the up stairs to allow more space. Very load group made it difficult to hear your own conversation.
Pas beaucoup d'attente. L'accueil a été chaleureux. Il y a beaucoup de choix. La viande était très bonne. Nous y retournerons bientôt je pense. Je recommande.
The food at The Thames was excellent. There were three of us and we all agreed on that. We would go again for the food. The staff were unfriendly and rushed us along through our meal. At one point we had to stop them from taking dishes off the table. They barely smiled and if anyone did it was frosty! At one point the waiter moved my son's bag from the floor to the free chair at our table by'dumping' it down without a word. He was like a cross parent! Maybe they didn't like us? In the reviews on your site I noted someone had said something similar. When we declined dessert they promptly took the tablecloth off! Before we left the staff had sat down to their own meal and I took that opportunity to briefly complement them on the food , they were appreciative and smiled!! Maybe they don't like serving customers..... We did leave a tip and I would go back for the food and maybe to see if their humour has improved.
Excellent Indian restaurant serving great food for over ten years. It gets busy with Waterloo commuters every day, so reservations are recommended whatever time you wish to eat. Try the naga chicken - superb!
Food was tasty but really not hot enough - could have been an excellent meal. Would try again but it was rather cramped with so many tables but It was very busy so clearly the demand is there.
We all really enjoyed the food, there were good portion sizes. The venue was easy to find, just outside Waterloo station. We would all return, the staff were friendly and welcoming too. Very much enjoyed.
An hour wait for our main course, however, we all had a lovely meal when it finally arrived. This would not put us off going again.
The menu and service were excellent but my choice was too spicy and salty for me - and I eat a lot of curries. Others at the meal agreed with me. The restaurant is very conveniently situated, just a few minutes' walk from Waterloo station- but you need to like hot, salty curry to really enjoy this curry house.
Very conveniently located close to Waterloo station. Food was very good, the Goan Fish Curry was lovely and the Lamb Shank was wonderful. Service good.
Where with 3 persons, had a variety of dishes ordered who where all well appreciated good taste, efficient services and reasonable price s . Can advise this place.
Great food and excellent service, we will definitely go back! Easy access as it is so close to Waterloo, so very convenient from almost anywhere.
Good food and can't fault the place except can get a little slow when extremely busy. Which, as it's good, is often the case. But still worth trying for yourself to confirm its good. And so convenient for the railway station/tube for journey home after work.
Absolutely fantastic... loved every minute of it, service and food tremendous as per usual... thank you once again The Thames, we'll be back for sure!!
Turned up and our table was ready - there were 9 of us and we all had good food, good service, good night out. Would deffo recommend to others
Lovely food and very welcoming staff. The restaurant was bustling and noisy and the close proximity of tables meant we chatted to our neighbours which we really enjoyed, so not ideal for couples or people wanting a quiet meal. The portion sizes are on the small size but plenty for me, a female, although our male companions would have liked more.
Great food, with a varied menu with lots of choice. Good location - two minute walk from Waterloo train station! Plenty of room for large groups and very bright, clean interior. Would definitely visit again!
Modern decor, busy, good food and service. The regional dishes and specials were particularly good. Modern decor, busy, good food and service. The regional dishes and specials were particularly good.
great service, great food, good portion sizes and very reasonable prices. We had the set menu for 2 for 40 pound and got 2 starters, 2 mains, rice, naan, 1 side and dessert. yum yum.
Service was excellent and the food variety and taste were very good. We had to wait for a table longer than we thought but in the scheme of things it was no big deal. Very busy but the staff did extremely well and the restaurant looked very neat and clean.
I love my Indian at lunchtime before football on a Saturday. This did not dissapoint. Staff very friendly & then Tandoori mix grill was superb.
Food was very good, lots of layered flavouring exactly what you hope for while being realistic about what is essentially a standard curry house. The restaurant was a little warm, but staff were friendly if a little over quick to clear.
Food was good, staff were friendly and helpful - I would definitely go back. (Unless I was in a wheelchair - there are steps to get in and to the bathrooms)
Excellent menu, great food and good service. A small and cosy type of environment but a really nice atmosphere and made to feel comfortable and unhurried.
Efficient staff,a well run organisation. We were given a nice welcome, served very well.Food was different ,a nice change ,all well prepared and very tasty. We will come back
Table ready on time. Drinks supplied immediately. Order taken efficiently. Food excellent and well organised. Chicken shashlick particularly good. Altogether a very good experience for central-ish London.
Nice restaurant, good service and great food. Really tasty jalfrezi. Would go again if around Waterloo. Doesn't look that much from the outside, but worth going in.
This is the second meal I've had here and both times I've been very pleasantly surprised. The service was attentive and friendly, and the food was tasty, generous and very nicely presented.
