The Unicorn is a lovely friendly pub that serves excellent food, The service is always with a smile and efficient and there is a good choice of menu.

Average food and dirty toilets - distinctly overrated and won’t be going back. Staff very friendly but it all felt disorganised. My husband could see the Uncle Ben’s tinned sauce being slopped onto his pizza!
Always last to leave and they never rush you. Good selection of food and they sell Vimto which makes a change for non drinkers. Recommend
Great food choice - we ate from the carvery where veg & other accompaniments frequently refreshed Quality & quantity ( amazing ) Good, punctual service
Great Food Great Service and you didn't have to wait. Lovely location lovely decor. I would recommend it to my family and friends, well I went with my family and we all agreed. so yes try it.
Super food and drink, attentive staff and a very generous carver! It was very busy but that should be expected when you get everything right. Thanks.
It was a bit busy being near Christmas so many people a bit noisy
Had a great time. Good all round Menu pleased everyone.Staff five stars very attentive, quick and polite. Can’t wait to return. Good accessibility for disabled person in group with plenty of on site easy parking.
Great food. Everything cooked lovely. Only negative is that the waitresses should be prepared to answer questions about the menu. Overall though a good experience and we will return.
Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, nice food, staff and beer !! Highly recommend
Great high quality food although service was a little slow. Good range of beers and play area for children outside in the spacious back garden.
Varied menu. Real pies with buttery short pastry. Vegetables well cooked. Will definitely return to sample other meals which look very tempting. Pity about loud music played.
Food was good, not amazing but good. Service is awful. We’ve been twice now and the service was bad both times. Slow and lacking passion. Stunning pub.
Yummy dinner, from fab fish pie, to ribs and wings and a purrrrfect steak. Kids love the chicken coujons. A very pleasant family evening with friendly staff.
Pie Monday? Went for the steak and ale pie, chips and mushy peas. Loads of meat . One of the best meat pies I've ever had .
We had a really lovely time , the food was fantastic and the staff are all friendly and helpful . Would definitely recommend this lovely pub to anyone :) Sue
A bit of a wait for the food but it was worth the wait, delicious. Service good and hardworking staff who are always very attentive.
We very much enjoyed the food but unfortunately we had to wait a long time for our drinks to be brought over & as we were sitting close to the bar we wer3 aware that the young staff although trying their hardest we very disorganised with no one really in control of which table was ready & who to seat or which drinks were for which table. However we hope to return to give it another go.
really lovely service and fo9d - just a shame they were out of the monkfish.
great treat for my mum on mother's day. lovely carvery and delicious gin :)
We really enjoyed our night out at the Unicorn's head. Great venue , lovely staff, good choice of drinks & delicious food .Highly recommended and will come back again.
Really really lovely place to spend an evening, wonderful, cosy and great food from local producers. Will definitely be returning. The unicorns head is just marvellous.
A really good meal, unfortunately we were put in a area where 2 parties were happening. Everyone had to pass us to get to the toilet. Not sure why they didn’t offer us a table in another part of the restaurant which was less busy.
Nice place, good food. Music too loud until turned down. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
It was that bad we got the whole evening for free as the service was terrible and the food wasn’t much better and this was the second time we had tried them because our first visit was nearly as bad.
Lovely food. Staff a little slow, however the owner was soon on the ball. Great value for money in a fab atmosphere. Still highly recommend
Lovely Sunday lunch. Vegetables were beautifully cooked and the meat extremely tasty. The only slight disappointment was the waiting time for the food but the restaurant was very busy. It was worth waiting for but the children were past their best by the time it came.
Good service even though the restaurant was really busy we were not kept waiting too long. Good choice of food and some excellent chef specials. Enjoyed the meals and would recommend. Would have given a 6 if I had not seen a waitress drop clean cutlery on the floor and then go back and pick it up and put it away. Especially as it was dropped in a busy thoroughfare where all the guests have to walk to get to the toilet. That is just not acceptable.
Service was slow and there was no strawberries on the desert kebab. When questioned was told “we’ve probably run out”. Should either take it off the menu or explain when ordering not wait to be asked.
Nice clean place. Expert renovations. Nice meal. Oops forgot to pay. All sorted over the phone but it took 4times of ringing to get an answer.
What a lovely pub, amazing food friendly and brilliant service. We’ve recently moved to a village nearby and wanted to try some of the local pubs , this is the best so far and will be very hard to beat. I can’t wait to go back. Kids enjoyed it as well so added bonus as they are fussy .
Room too cold and draughty because of the numerous points of access and doors being left open by staff as well as customers. Lighting too harsh in restaurant. Service slow but wouldn’t have been a problem if we had felt warm and cosy. Food ok but the fish was not available for the fish dish I ordered and so was substituted with another fish which didn’t work in the dish yet we were originally charged full price for it. This is the third time we have been as we have been really hoping it would be one of our regular go to places but unfortunately all 3 times have been a disappointment.
Outstanding!!. The service was friendly and first class. The food was perfect, well cooked and very well presented. The portions were good to (although a 16oz steak would be nice). This is our third time at the Unicorn and I know for a fact there will be many more.
Fantastic place. Fantastic food. Lovely staff. We’re already booked in for next Sunday to sample the Sunday lunch. We cannot wait to show the family how lovely the food is
Limited menu, slightly noisy staff, food well cooked, excellent decoration and seating, We received a warm welcome and welcoming drink, yet to try a normal menu. Michael Smith ( MHCIMA )
4 adults & 1 child enjoy a lovely lunch time meal from the Daily Deal menu £9.99 for two coarse very good value for lovely food at a great price. Would definitely eat there again. And the new manager & his staff were very obliging and nothing was to much trouble.
There are very few occasions when I can say that a meal couldn't be improved upon. Tonight, I enjoyed a meal which was perfect in every way. Compliments to the chef.....and thanks to the warm and friendly staff who delivered such a lovely Valentines Day experience. We will see you again.....very soon.
Lovely Sunday dinner , everything was nice and fresh , staff very attentive nothing too much trouble , this was our second time for Sunday carvery would definitely recomend , and will definatly return
Superb starters and mains, Wild mushrooms on toast followed by one of the best steak pies I've ever had, with quality "proper" mushy pea, and fantastic "triple cooked chips!" Only fault was the White wine was served almost warm!! White wines must be served at 5-6'C. Just putting ambient temperature bottles of wine, in the vacuum container DOES NOT COOL. Such a pity as it was a nice wine when we added to ice to cool, but not quite the way!!
