Loved the experience. Food was amazing and staff very friendly.

First class, lovely food and great service - would highly recommend

This is one of my favourite restaurants; the food is always good and the atmosphere restrained and civilised. The service is attentive without being servile and the setting is second to none. For me the most important thing is that it is quiet; there is no cheap and noisy pop music blaring and that in itself for me is worth an extra star.

Main course was lovely but sticky toffee pudding was cold, dry and almost inedible. All 3 of us left half of it. Told staff this when they were clearing away but nothing done or any compensation offered.

Lovely evening with great food and excellent service. Nice touch with a birthday song and flowers being presented to the birthday girl at the end of our meal. They made a lovely evening really special.

Seasonal menu, food, staff and atmosphere were all excellent. One of the few restaurants where the specials bird is actually special.

Food and service were both 5 star. We were treated like princesses…. I left comments when making the booking regarding both diners having hearing aids.. I do this every time we book somewhere and it is usually completely overlooked.. this was not the case at the waterside bistro, they had a lovely quiet table for us and acknowledged the comments I left about our heating when we arrived, our table also over looked the view Thank you so much

Our lunch today was delightful. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was delicious and the environment cosy and warm. Even the toilets were 10/10. Well done Team!!

My friends & I have been visiting regularly for the past year or so and are never disappointed. Lovely menus, lovely food.

The food was good but the kitchen seemed really stretched so there was a long time to wait for lunch. The great reputation of the Waterside will be dented if this becomes the norm. We’ll give it another try to check.

Great food and an amazing server that served us with a smile

Very jolly welcome. Cannot choose between which was the best main dish - chicken with chorizo and apricots wonderful tastes and textures, rib eye cooked perfectly, pork there was no offer to taste and the plates were clean, braised beef and the roast beef were both fantastic. Sticky toffee pudding was the favourite for dessert! The service was polite and friendly. The only downside is with the hard floor, walls and chairs/tables it did get noisy as it got busier. We will be back.

We had a lovely time at the Waterside Bistro with my aunt who was celebrating ger 88 birthday.The food was good with crispy batter o n the haddock and the beef short rib flavoursome.The staff were attentive and helpful.Our dog was welcomed with a bowl of fresh water.

Could not speak more highly of the staff and of our overall experience. The staff were very attentitive and went out their way to make this such a special occasion for my father who was celebrating his 86th birthday with his sister (91) and niece all of whom have mobility issues. We didn't have much time so only had mains but what we did have was incredibly tasty and super fresh. The staff all came out and sang happy birthday to my dad with a cake topped with a candle (unknown to me this was going to happen). It was very emotional for my dad who was delighted. He had left Haddington 60years ago and this visit was part of a trip down memory lane - what a lovely day full of more memories! Thank you so much to all at Waterside Bistro and would definitely visit if back in neighbourhood.
