It is a lovely cosy little restaurant and the staff were very nice, really friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, we had the hot smoked trout to start with was delicious and you get a big portion then the burger and the lamb rump which was so good. The cheesecake was the best bit for me. One of the best cheesecakes I’ve had. I will definitely be back and be Recommending the waterside bistro! To friends and family., we have just moved to Haddington from Edinburgh so it’s great that we have this place on walking distance.

Excellent food served by friendly knowledgeable staff at a reasonable price

The Bistro was absolutely packed however that did not impact the food or the service for our table of 6. Would highly recommend giving this place a try as it’s brilliant.

Our party had a fantastic meal and service was excellent

I went to lunch with my Mum who has turned into one of these wee old ladies that orders mountains of food, proclaims they'll never be able to eat it all then steadily ploughs their way through enough to keep an army going for a week. Anyway she ordered well with salmon rillettes to start and chicken beladone (?maybe) and I had my usual food envy, my starter chicken with black pudding was delicious and my fish and chips very tasty and not greasy. I stopped then but mum had lemon posset for dessert which she thought was palate cleansing, which is what she always says when she has a lemon thing as if that makes it more like a necessity than an indulgence. The food was good and tasty. They also had a low alcohol dark beer which made me very happy! It wasn't busy so service was quick, courteous and efficient and not intrusive. Lovely lunch!
