I understand about social distancing but was unimpressed with being given a table in the corner of the bar. Drunks coming and going and general bar noise made it a very uncomfortable meal. Further it was freezing cold. My glass had lipstick stains on it so much for ‘clean’ environment. Food was no better than mediocre which is a shame last time (31/8) we had a nice and cosy meal. We won’t be going back which is a shame. If they are sticking people in the bar area they should have the courtesy to advise ahead of arrival.

Always a lovely welcome. Fabulous food, and the cheesecake was delicious. So lucky to have the Waterside on our doorstep.

We really enjoyed everything about our lunch at the Waterside Inn. Starting from the gorgeous view of the river and Nungate bridge - we were sitting outside enjoying a sunny afternoon. They understand good service and generosity here. Excellent house specials, chicken confit and roasted salmon. And the chocolate & cherry brownie with cherry ice cream & roasted nut - so indulgent and yummy. And they know how to make a properly brewed cup of tea - which naturally comes with delicious tablet. Looking forward to visiting again.

Lovely venue and attentive staff. We enjoyed our meals very much. Probably the only negative was that my chair was very uncomfortable - its padding had definitely seen better days.

This was our first visit to the Waterside Bistro but from the moment we arrived we were made very welcome. The food was excellent and we really couldn’t fault anything. We will be back!

Amazing to be able to eat out again! Had an amazing meal, steak was so tender, and a cleverly constructed menu. James was his usual welcoming self, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable even with the added strain of Covid-19 restrictions. Looking forward to returning again very soon1
