Excellent meal and atmosphere . Staff were very attentive despite the restaurant being busy. We enjoyed the sea bass fillet and risotto, a welcome change from turkey.

First time my husband and I have eaten at the Wild Swan. Service was friendly and efficient, despite the fact they were very busy. The food was of high quality and excellent value. The surroundings were comfortable and clean. I would have no reservation in recommending.

Easy booking with email confirmation on day before visit. very reassuring. Friendly welcome. Well placed table for four, nicely avoiding the larger groups celebrating pre Christmas. . First class food, efficient but not intrusive service. Not cheap but good value for money.

Food was good but the smell of wet wood from the fire along with the smoke in the dinning room made the experience not as good as it should of been, we all left with our cloths smelling of smoke

Excellent Sunday lunch. We’ve been going to their sister pub at Roecliffe for ages, so thought twe’d give the Wild Swan a try. Really nice roast (we had the beef, pork and chicken between us), and two of our three starters were really good. The only slight complaint was that the ‘classic’ prawn cocktail was not classic. Instead of crisp iceberg or cos Etruscan, it had limp green leaves, nature unspecified. Still, only a small quibble, and we’ll be going back to try the al la carte menu.

A return visit, lovely evening with friends - great food and service, The sea bass special was superb. To be picky - could have included a few more vegetables (we were told there would be plenty with the dish) and waiting/standing space in the bar area is very limited. Good atmosphere, lovely décor, like the open view into the kitchen.

Looked forward to trying this restaurant as we loved TheCrown at Roecliffe. There was a good choice of food and a comfortable atmosphere in the dining room. The four of us enjoyed our meal which consisted of a main and dessert. We all made good choices, although we had to ask for more sauce to go with the pig cheeks. Desserts were tasty, although pastry brush additions were not! The problem was pointed out to the waiter. We felt a better apology would have been appreciated. Overall a good meal and would go back again.

This is really good pub food and great beer. The pub has a lovely warm atmosphere and the staff are very attentive. We liked the novelty of being able to view the (tiny) kitchen. The decor in the restaurant, but not he bar, which is-normally spot on from the proprietors, is a little thin and uncoordinated without the usual quirky details but these are minor points.

Great visit to the Wild Swan. Lovely welcome - very friendly and helpful staff... and fabulous food, what more could you want. Everything was cooked to perfection, just sorry that we couldn't make room for a pudding - will definitely try to fit one in next time. All in all, a perfect, relaxed Sunday lunch.

Good ambience but lots of things sold out on the menu which was disappointing as we had all wanted scallops for starters and there weren’t any left. Food that we did order was very nice.

After a lovely Sunday lunch a few weeks ago we decided to meet friends for an early evening meal. Sadly this was not up to the same standard. The portions were smaller (eg mushroom starter which was on soggy bread rather than bruschetta) and the Thai green curry I had was more like pea purée poured over a few bits of overcooked chicken, served with burnt naan. My husband didn’t enjoy his hot pot which was dry and over cooked. Service was ok but rushed and the atmosphere was very smoky! All in all very disappointing and not feeling encouraged to return.

All in all it was ok - bar setting is very cosy and lovely especially on a wet miserable day. Starters nice but main course (Sunday roast) was very disappointing.

Had a great time Early Evening menu excellent and great value. Very good modern restaurant with old pub part. Obviously very popular for eating as much of bar takenup by tables so the only down side is as a pub it’s too popular for food so not the usual pub local bar. Overall an excellent place to eat with quality food and friendly staff.

We met with family for Sunday lunch which we all found delicious and very generous portions. There was a good choice on the Sunday set menu and we enjoyed the variety of perfectly cooked extra vegetables. The service was excellent. Only small niggle was to be informed after our coffees that we would need to vacate our table as there was a second booking after us - this was not made clear at the time of booking. Nevertheless I highly recommend the quality of food and atmosphere.

Could have done better the Sunday lunch roast beef not the best two pieces of roasted sirloin I think a bit chewy not much veg for two adults Yorkshire ‘s a bit shop bought looking and had to ask for sauces and extra gravy as it was all a bit dry. Had to send the Apple and berry crumble back as the plate was untouchable but the desert Luke warm that spells microwave a disappointment for the price paid other local places can and do better.

Wow! We couldn't have been more impressed on our first visit to The Wild Swan by the warm and relaxing atmosphere, fabulous waiting staff and an appealing menu choice to whet the individual and varied appetites of our hungry party of 4. The food was faultless and our dining experience was memorable for all the right reasons. We've since been back for a great Sunday Lunch and The Wild Swan is without doubt our new "go to" restaurant.
