Although the food was good and the service friendly, it was less than a great experience. Having repeatedly asked for the wine list we ended up ordering separate glasses of wine in order to get a drink. The wine list eventually turned up during dessert. Having several intolerances and not seeing anything at all marked as gluten free for the main course I was very happy to be told that a roast chicken meal could be served gluten free. The meal arrived complete with Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and gravy. The meal was taken away at my request. The waiter then returned to ask me what I wanted. I said I would be happy with the meat, potatoes and vegetables, a situation I would have been happy with in the first place. My plate came back with the same piece of meat covered in gravy, gravy on the potato and the plate. Anyone who had Coeliac Disease would have become really ill after eating this. For dessert I decided to order a plain vanilla ice cream, thinking nothing could go wrong with that. The regular ice cream covered in all sorts of toppings arrived, so I repeated my request for a plain vanilla ice cream. When my dessert arrived it was covered in raspberries and sauce. Staff obviously need more training, particularly kitchen staff. Although I tolerances are less severe than allergies they can make people very ill.

Fabulous food as usual, a lovely venue for a family celebration. We have visited the Wild Swan in Minskip for both lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. Would recommend to all.

absolutely great, reminded me of the good times at The Crown (after our las experience there after new owners took over---never again). Food & choice 10/10 staff & service 10/10 Ambience 10/10 If I look for a downside it would be the car park was full so parked in the field (cant imagine how that will be in the winter) & it could do with some form if lighting. Looking forward to our next visit

There were five in our party and we all enjoyed our food very much. The only disappointment was they had no Lemon Sole (my favourite) or calamari but it was a Wednesday evening and there were plenty of other delicious choices. We did t have dessert but they looked delicious as they went past!! We’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

Very good value early doors meal which was delicious. Service excellent and the pub is nicely done out. Truffle oil used a bit too freely but that is just a personal preference !

Called in on the way home, excellent service from the staff, very good menu including early bird specials. Our food was well presented and very good. Can the see The Wild Swan overtaking the Crown as the place to eat in the Boroughbridge area

Overall a very nice meal. Just a couple of suggestions. The quality of theircoffee needs improvement I ordered a flat white and it was weak and tasteless Also the chef over salts the chips in my fish and chip meal.

Great food, great atmosphere, great service and great price. Doesn’t get much better. If you’ve never been, you are missing out on one of the best food pubs around.

Interesting menu using locally sourced ingredients, individually cooked so time to enjoy each course. The meal was very good and the price was reasonable too.

Good early evening deal for four of us. Two said meals were of good quality, one said average for the beef hotpot, a little bland and the other had a risotto which was on the dry side. Drinks quite expensive though. Overall a pleasant experience, nice ambience and a vast improvement on our previous visit before the new owners

Helpful and friendly staff. One of the main courses and one of the desserts from the early bird menu where not available. Rhubarb panacotta could have done with more rhubarb. Otherwise good food and ambiance.

Relaxed and comfortable atmosphere with tasty food, well-cooked, although there were not enough vegetables included in the meal. This meant extra had to be ordered to achieve a balanced meal.

Portion size was a little disappointing, waiting staff could have been a bit more attentive to say there wasn't many diners in. Food was very nice and staff were friendly

Excellent food. I partularly like fish and there is a good choice. Staff are friendly and attentive and the restaurant is comfortable and clean. We sat near the door which wouldn’t be my choice but there was no problem.

Lovely surroundings and airy feel to the restaurant . The food was very nice , a good selection of a dishes and specials to choose from. The staff were attentive at the right level. Only draw back was the Eton mess pudding which was nice but the meringues were not homemade Planning to go back again soon.

Always great food and good service. Whitby crab and pea risotto to start, slow cooked lamb then the cheese board, washed down with a bottle of Pinot Grigio.

Have been several times before and have always been impressed with food and service. This visit was not the usual exceptional experience and think we were the only table which was probably due to the football.

Excellent food and good service overall. Although very busy for a Tuesday evening and a little short staffed. Inexperienced waitress made a few blunders, but as she was new to the job we understood and didn’t want to make an issue of it. My husband, two daughters and I all ordered differently and equally enjoyed our choice of food. Will definitely go back on another occasion.

It was lovely. I appreciate that since everything is freshly cooked it took a little while for our meal to be served. Although there was plenty of room to park I chose to park to the rear. I did ask to eat at 12.30 and was offered 1.15 which was fine but unexplained.

Good food, good ambience, prices are reasonable. Nothing to complain about at all. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. In my opinion, now better than the Crown.
