Fantastic. Flat Iron steak in mushroom sauce was best meal I have had there. But food and atmosphere are always good.

Got seated straight away, handed menus then left for about 20 minutes. My husband went to the bar to get us some drinks, no one asked us if we wanted a drink while we looked at the menu! My meal (fish & chips) was very poor, the batter was cooked on the outside but raw underneath! The chips tasted dry and under cooked, and it literally only had a small spoonful of pea purée! Still no one asked us if we wanted any more drinks or if we were enjoying the food! We were basically ignored! When the girl came to clear the table she asked if everything was ok, so I I showed her the meal and she said I should have told them and I would have got another meal, but as no one had approached us I didn’t have the opportunity! She did knock £5 off our bill, but that was just a token effort to appease us! We will not be back! Very very disappointed! Don’t waste your time visiting here for food! Poor service Poor food Drab atmosphere

Expensive for what it was, particularly desserts. Limited choice and not great quality. Disappointed.

Although the pub was very busy on the Saturday evening we were there we were shown to our booked table promply. The staff were very attentive and we had our drinks and menus in super quick time. When we needed more time it was respected and at no time did we feel rushed. Our food came in average time and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good and portions were as expected. The only negative from our viewpoint was the couple in the next table had a large Labrador who was very well behaved. We don’t particularly like eating our evening meal accompanied by dog or dogs but as this is a dog friendly venue it is accepted. However when the member of staff came to take payment they stroked the dog with one hand while allowing it to energetically lick their other hand for a while. We did not think this was something someone in the food industry should be doing and only could hope they gave their hands a good wash immediately. Apart from that a great pub with outstanding service.
