Marvellous place, great service, fantastic food and a lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend the place, but you do need lots of pennies not going to lie but it was worth it for our anniversary.

Desserts far too expensive for small portions otherwise a very nice meal. Friendly staff and the ambiance is perfect. I have been quite a few times and we will probably come again but think on a fixed menu evening.

Good quality food great ambient atmosphere. Nice place for a special treat. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is very good limited to around 20 dishes due to the use of fresh available fresh produce at the time.

As always, a brilliant experience. We were very well cared for and the food was delicious. Amazing ambience. Going there again... definitely.

Absolutely great lunch . Such accomplished cooking . Pig cheek starter just delicious. Service was spot on . Well worth the trip from York . Beat The Ivy in York hands down ! If only they had a branch in York. I can recommend this restaurant highly enough .

Excellent service with the personal touch. 3 course specials menu is always good value. The runny duck egg with smoked haddock croquettes starter is a must.

Food excellent- will go again and recommend! I would have preferred if you could see the view outside bur it was obscured but he 1884 writing on the window- I assume this was to stop customers being watched by passers-by.

They only had 1 bottle of our 1st choice of wine & only 2 bottles of our 2nd choice so in total we had 3 different types of wine - should they have had our first 2 choices on the menu if stocks were that low?However the food was as good as ever although the service was a little slow considering the restaurant was not busy.

Brilliant food brillaint service and fairly good prices woild recommend. I enjoyed the set menu there was for me . The drinks where exotic as well .

Excellent as always at 1884, had an amazing singer in the dining room but after a few songs he was moved to the bar to play to nobody; shame as he really set the tone for a lovely evening.

Great food and attentive staff. A lovely spot on the docks and we would visit again. I am not local so was surprised by a sausage roll starter option. Parking is an issue though.

Lovely atmosphere and great service. Tasty food although both the beef and pork were tougher than expected. Very accommodating of kids and special requests. Amazing deserts.

Fantastic as always. Great service and lovely food. Loved the pianist, made the atmosphere very relaxed and ambient. Shame the Sunday lunches are stopping, we'll have to do a Saturday night instead.

Food was excellent had to ask for additional potatoes as copper pans enough for 2 but not 3. Supplied without question just a shame we had to ask

Always a great experience at 1884. The menu changes each month but the attention to detail remains the same. Another enjoyable night and we will keep returning

The food was fantastic and the restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. Only thing stopping it being perfect was some of the table staff didn’t seem very friendly.

An excellent experience in very nice surroundings, superb food well cooked and well presented staff were very knowledgeable and unobtrusive leaving you to enjoy your meal unless they were needed. A very good pianist and soul singer on the night we were there as well.

Food was ok, but not superb. The Bill was ridiculously expensive. Staff were lovely but this did not make up for the fact that it was around £80 each for dinner and 1 bottle of wine. I would have expected to pay 50% less than I did. A financially painful experience.

The food was superb and the attention of the staff was great. Every one was very pleasant. All together we had a very enjoyable afternoon made special becasue it was our 51st wedding anniversary.

This is a beautiful restaurant but pity the food didn’t live up to expectations.£27 for plaice that was hardly 4inches by 2 a complete rip off

Exceptionally good food across all 3 courses which is well presented with a very high standard of customer care and attention without being intrusive. A relaxed atmosphere through the restaurant and bar area I will definitely be returning to try more of the amazing food.

A wonderful, delicious Sunday Lunch. The staff are very knowledgeable and attentive. It's a great experience every time. Good value for superbly cooked and presented food. It should be a Michelin Star restaurant. It's just a pity that they have decided to shut on a Sunday and a Monday as from the beginning of April, only opening on a Sunday for Mother's Day etc. With all the cafes and restaurants that are open around there on a Sunday it's a pity not to be able to go there as well. Hopefully they will soon change their minds and reopen again.

Nice location by the Marina. Pleasent ambiance in the dining room with plenty of space between tables.Service was good not over the top. The menu had a good range of choices and the execution was excellent.The cost was expensive but the experience did not disappoint.

Very nice place but well over priced for the amount of food you receive and why dos the menu have to be weird people on the next table was discussing the menu asking each other what things was and no chicken dishes ?

Wonderful food, and a truely great and vibrant atmosphere. The addition of cocktails are welcomed as well as the added feature of live music while you eat or entertain.

Really good food,venue and service all at a reasonable price for fine dining. One of our group was vegetarian and although there was only one item on menu the restaurant offered some additional choices.

Went for the first time with family of six for Sunday lunch. Very friendly staff, food was excellent, we all had the roast beef, ambiance was very good. We shall be returning.

Loved it. Really Great food. Really Great service. Am glad I’m working in Hull for another few weeks so I can return. They even took note of a birthday and prepared a special plate. Can’t fault it and good value too.

To give credit where due, I've been here before going vegetarian and the starter of pigeon on that visit was one of the best plates of food I've tasted. I went this weekend as a vegetarian, my starter was good but not outstanding and all the components of my Main were nice other than the main part itself which tasted very bland. A little disappointed. Everyone else enjoyed their food, my dad said the guineafowl was good but not spectacular. Overall the food was good (or great for the steak eaters) but you really expect the absolute best for everyone when you're paying that much. Service was ok and had an average cocktail that was not decorated at all costing £9.50

The restaurant is set around an old dock which has gone through some regeneration. It has a warehouse feel yet is extremely stylish inside. The decor and large room layout is excellent. Once inside the staff are fabulous as is the extensive menu and wine list. I've been here half a dozen times and despite a two hour journey to get there is always worth it. I always feel completely satisfied and smug after having eaten there. It is a joy. I only wish I lived closer.

Excellent food yet again, I had the steak highly recommend & my partner had the Monkfish it was Devine, service was amazing as was evertyhing.
