Lovely Sunday lunch , veg a little under for me , chicken was beautiful, Yorkshire pudding not so great bit cake like ... starters amazing

Celebrating silver wedding anniversary. Marley was very attentive and a nice touch by acknowledging the occasion on the bill. Food was lovely, we could eat at leisure, not rushed.

My daughter requested a roast for her 21st birthday meal! Despite being a later booking, the staff went above and beyond to make this happen, food was really good would definitely recommend 10/10

Brilliant - staff very friendly and helpful and nice venue

We had to wait for drinks as the bar staff were behind the curve. The wine came with the food. We wanted the wine up front before the food. We paid £12.50 for a glass of poor Chardonnay. London prices for poor wine. If you reduced the price of wine you would sell more wine. We will drink beer next time. The Roast Lunch was excellent and that is why we have booked twice in the last month. The music was a little loud and a bit too modern for us. But a good experience and we will book again. This pub is doing a great job and is to be recommended

Waitress was attentive and instructive. However an issue with kitchen over the meal. Not as we have had before and made things difficult for my gluten free sister.

Very enjoyable, with less people in the restaurant. Not having to listen to other people’s problems. A silver lining to Covid, unfortunately not for the proprietor. Food and service great.

Slow service, none of our choice of starters available......our second visit post lock down and management have reduced the bill to compensate for poor experience.

Went for lunch and got 50%/£10 pp discount. Food was tasty and service was good. Not too busy but obviously people were taking advantage of the EO2HO scheme.

Food was good, price good, service itself was good, just slow given how few customers there appeared to be and how many staff there were.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the food and service was great. Given the difficult circumstances in which they have to work, they did everything possible to make dining out the pleasant experience it should be. Very impressed with everything the Bird in Hand have put in place and the staff are a credit to them.

We enjoyed our visit, staff were very accommodating to all our needs. The food was fantastic other than the ploughmans platter which was not up to a high standard Again our bill was adjusted and the staff dealt with this issue with a professional manner. I will definitely be going back in the near future.

We took advantage of the Eat out to Help out so the restaurant was fully booked and we didn't like the choice of seat inside the restaurant so sat outside. The garden was packed, and I appreciate it was difficult for the staff to deal with the extra numbers but service was very long and protracted waiting for drinks and food to come once ordered. When the starter did come, side plates were offered but they never materialised. When the main courses arrived, we needed salt, pepper and vinegar but it wasn't on the table, so we needed to ask for them. A side order of chips with my main had to be reminded again for. £4 for a side order is too much in my view, especially as my meal was half eaten by the time it arrived.
