The quality of the draught ales was good, the food very good and the friendly and attentive service from the young waiting team made this an enjoyable meal. My overseas guest really liked the "pub".

Very nice Sunday lunch. Good quality meat and vegetables plus extra gravy provided was nice. Only negatives were that vegetables did not include peas (one of our party will not eat any other veg) and trio of meat option did not include turkey. Also space was very tight around our table.

Excellent food , service and setting in a great local pub . Easy to book via the app quando . Free On site parking . There’s nothing not to like about the Blackbird.

Awesome Sunday dinner, great service. Upstairs was a tiny bit cold - could have had the fire on but that’s the only fault I could pick.

I’m a bit of a self confessed foodie and have been eating here for a while. Food is of a consistently exceptional standard and amazing value for money.

We were celebrating my husbands birthday and as always we had a great night the staff were attentive and friendly and the food was great as always.

My husband and I really enjoyed our visit to yesterday evening. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary so were hoping for something a bit special, and we weren't diapppointed! We both had 2 courses and every element of the food was fantastic, with great service too. We'll definitely be back.

Good service. As a regular customer I would like the menu to change more frequently. Perhaps include more non traditional choices, for example Spanish influences

The bar area was very busy, but we dined in the restaurant which was quieter. The staff were very friendly and the menu was a little unusual, although we all enjoyed our various meals. The venison and dumplings was very well presented on a flat wooden platter and very tasty, but I had to ask for a plate to transfer the food on, to be able to pour the gravy onto the meal without it ending all over the table. Apparently we weren't the first people to comment on this. We thought that the desserts were on the expensive side, well presented, but quite small portions.

Sunday lunch as good as ever. Always a great atmosphere as it is the hub of Ponteland. Food is superb and very fresh. We always get the table we ask for.

We sat in the gallery upstairs - it was busy but there was a lovely atmosphere. Waiters and waitresses very attentive and all of the food ordered was hot and delicious. A lovely evening enjoyed by our family. Would definitely return and recommend to family and friends.

An excellent Sunday Lunch which was good value for money. They were very knowledgeable about Gluten Free food. The staff were most efficient and friendly.

Beautiful pub. Brilliant and friendly staff. The food was amazing. I had a burger and a pint of Peroni. Took my man out as a day out and it only cost £30 for two meals and two drinks. It’s a little more expensive than some other places but it’s lively

A lovely old pub/restaurant, in the heart of Ponteland. Lots of car parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food. Service a bit slow. Good atmosphere.

It was lovely: the staff were very friendly and helpful, we parked alright in the disabled bay and our reg. was taken and explanation given and we had just the table area I had requested because of my brother-in-law's poor sight. The Sunday dinner was beautiful, large portions, perfect beef with all the trimmings and separate vegetables to help ourselves to, and a lovely choice of indulgent desserts; we had good advice with the wine choice and even had some left which we were able to take home. In all a very pleasurable experience which we are sure to repeat.

Great Sunday lunch, lovely waitress but very busy and noisy. Good value for money, don’t always enjoy Sunday lunch out but thoroughly enjoyed my lamb and others had beef dinner, all very tasty. Delicious puddings too!

Fabulous meal , staff great. Sunday lunch was just perfect. I had beef , husband had lamb. We shared an Asian beef crispy noodle starter that was delicious. May have it as a main next time.,although the Sunday roast are too good to give up.

Went upstairs for the first time - very pleasant surroundings. Had Sunday lunch, excellent food, very pleasant staff but service a bit slow but it was very busy at the time. Still very enjoyable.

Went for Sunday lunch , the veg was very nice, gravy had no taste, lamb very tough & fatty, we were very disappointed as it is expensive.

Food served hot. We had roast dinner and the meat(lamb) was lovely. All veg was hot and tasty, and we got a jug of extra gravy. Good table service.

Tunnel room is an interesting venue but upstairs restaurant very nice too. Food very enjoyable and staff friendly and hardworking at a very busy time
