Welcoming and attentive staff We are glad to see the return of the early bird menu

Food was as good as always. Could not be faulted. Service was great. Only criticism we had a table near the bar where there was a small group of people drinking. It got rather noisy.

Food was lovely, service was great and really good value for money. We will definitely visit again.

We could not fault our food. We both had the Sunday roast and it was excellent. We have been a few times on Sunday because it is so good but it has never been booked in my name. When we arrived it was very busy and noisy downstairs but our table was upstairs and it was fine. The waitresses were very friendly and efficient and the sticky toffee pudding fabulous. Also your house wine is not over top like some places.

I've visited Blacksticks 3 times over the last 3 months. Always made to feel welcome, enjoy the food, drinks and general ambience of the place.

Great food, great price, fantastic setting and top quality service. I would highly recommend this place and their is plenty to choose from.

Unfortunately most of the dishes has aiolli on them which spolit it for me along with a really rowdy table, although I understand that's not the restaurants fault .

just wish they served cava by the glass! but great

Party of 4 on a Saturday night. Unexpected 20% off the food in January, which was most welcome. The portions were average but the quality was very good. I would definitely go again

We waited a while for the pre booked table so was late sitting down. The waitress took the order & asked my son if all the food he was ordering was for him (rather rude) but we let it go, not to make a scene. While ordering we wasn't advised the steak on the menu was a full size plate, out of the 3 of us 2 ordered the steak, which was too much. I did tell the waitress on collecting the plates it was too much, and the response was, "well at least you know for next time". I will return as I did like the food & atmosphere.

Very well cooked and tasty breakfast. Staff as always very welcoming and efficient. Enjoyed visit and will be back!

Early bird special is a bargain for two or three courses. Limited menu but everything we've had so far has been very tasty. Mussels starter particularly good, as is blade of beef main, and chicken breast main. Cauliflower starter could have come hotter, hence not 5* star review but very solid 4*. Very happy to visit again.

A bit disappointed. Sticky table. Food choice was Sunday Roast or Tapas no other menu choice. Had the roast, it was OK at best. Shame as this place used to be much better!

The food was tasty and well served, quite cold sitting near the door as everyone coming in and out on quite a busy evening. Waitress could have been a bit warmer and maybe smile 😃

Great choice of menus for a Tyesday evening. Service and food were good. Only slight downside was our table was very close to the bar area which wouldn't have been so bad were it not for one person standing at the bar drinking right next to our table. Overall still an enjoyable meal

We were having the early bird menu, unfortunately I didn’t like any of the starters or desert choices, not the restaurants fault 😂but what happened to the fat chips 😂

We dined for 2 around 7pm decided to order from the 3 tapas for x amount deal or upgraded to £20 and including a pint of lager, we decided on 2 x potato bravas 1 x meatballs 1x chorizo in cider 1 x mussels. Overall all dishes were fantastic and super flavourful, this was our first time visiting and we are already looking at booking to come again with other family! Service was great, atmosphere spot on and toilets were immaculate. :)
