We shared the chateaubriand, and a glass of Malbec. Meat was very high quality, properly cooked, well seasoned, and a good price. Service was prompt and friendly but gave us space on our date. I will definitely go back and would recommend.

The staff were very friendly and the service was quick, more importantly the food was extremely tasty with good portion sizes (particularly the ribs) and was good value for money.

The food was really lovely and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I had the seafood boil which was delicious. Would definitely recommend trying.

Great food but could do with more veggies or garnish with steak dish. Building was a little draughty & hubby thought he could smell damp. Service was a tad slow but other than that it was good.

Cold and lonely atmosphere in a modern bare brick look restaurant with decent enough food but a limited menu and small portions. Reasonable wine and very attentive waiter who should really find a better restaurant. £50 for two burger and chips and a bottle of wine seems a little steep. I remember the place from the late 90s when it was a fabulous Spanish family run establishment, superb Tapas and then waiters appearing with guitars to add that little bit extra. Heaven only knows how many incarnations of the premises there have been since then but sadly, I cannot recommend this one.

The Didsbury Bourbon & Black has a relaxed atmosphere. The food was excellent, ingredients were fresh and delivered to our table promptly. The staff are friendly and are willing to talk through the menu with you. The cocktails were two for £10 and very nice they were too!

Came here looking for Steak on a night when the nearby 'Cau' was booked up. Best decision ever! Great service from knowledgeable staff and an ample menu with some nice touches to make it stand out from the countless other 'burger and grill' joints in Manchester: The house sauce is delicious, although the steak is so good it doesn't need it, and the 'grilled salad' redefines eating your greens! Finished off with Cocktails from their truly creative menu. Again, really impressed (Popcorn Old-Fashioned! Who'd think of that?!). I'm not sure Cau will be getting a look-in now, wouldn't be able to do much better and looks like they pack the tables in a bit.

Great meal and wonderful service, Emily served us and was absolutely on point all night. I actually felt terrible because I had no cash with me and paid by card and the machine didn't offer me the chance to give her a tip. Sorry Emily but your servce was amazing and the food, as always was fantastic!

Didn't even get food was told kitchen was shut even after booking through this. Not good at all! Also didn't receive any form of apology just brushed away with no asking if we wanted to rebook or have drinks. Awful

The food was decent food, though a few things on the menu were not available. Long waiting times for food even though the restaurant was only half full. The room was also pretty cold, with cold air blowing through a large crack in the ceiling. Wouldn't go again because plenty of other places do food just as good with better service and lower prices.

Cocktails average, starters average, mains awful. Pulled Pork covered in coleslaw that was so laced with chillies it was inedible. To be fair it said this on the menu that it was hot, and I like chillis, but the heat was ludicrous. The food beneath the "slaw" was cold. My partner had a terribly cooked steak. A side of Brocolli was completely raw inside but seared black on the outside and was sent back. We were then short changed by £2 which I didn't even bother discussing. I always tip (I should not have tipped at all in this case) so just left £2 less than the usual 10%. I walked past the "Chef Station" during the evening, of 3 guys 2 of them were doing something on their phones and ignoring the food cooking around them.

Poor! Slow cooked ribs where pink. Sea bass was burnt. Pulled pork was burnt bits. I know it's called burbon and black but you under cook your 'slow cooked' ribs

I went here for a birthday meal with family. The atmosphere was excellent and the staff were friendly and attentive. When there was a minor problem with the starter the waitress sorted the problem straight away. The mains were excellent and I was absolutely stuffed by the end! Very good, would recommend.

Great food, great service, and great ambience. I love the rustic and jazzy feel of the place, but last night it was let down by the music which was completely out of sync with the restaurant style (it was rock music such as Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, ACDC - awful!). Would recommend otherwise.

We were seated within 1-2 minutes of entering as there were people waiting in front of us. The waitress was very helpful and enthusiastic and our food came out relatively quickly. The Merlot wine was lovely and the atmosphere upstairs was very chilled. If we had time we would have liked to have stayed downstairs and check out the bar area and try some of the whiskies. For the money wasn't sure the food was worth the same prices but I would like to give it another try and see. The food was good but I didn't feel like it wowed me hence the 4/6 mark. We went on a Saturday evening around 8pm and made a reservation, the restaurant looked busy.

If you book in January it's 50% off but I would still pay the full price for the excellent Chateaubriand that they serve. The bartender made us up some great non-alcoholic cocktails to go with it.
