Great place for a tasty grill. Food is cooked and served efficiently. Service is average some of the staff are a little moody, but it the food makes up for it.

Great fries (which were actually proper chips cooked decently with a sprinkling of rock salt). Burger was a little overdone but still very tasty nonethless.

Great food, great service, and great ambience. I love the rustic and jazzy feel of the place, but last night it was let down by the music which was completely out of sync with the restaurant style (it was rock music such as Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, ACDC - awful!). Would recommend otherwise.

Half the items on the menu they had run out of and the peppercorn sauce was so strong it ruined the meal. The bones of the ribs were also crumbling apart so I was constantly picking bone out my mouth whilst eating

Poor service, running out of food after we'd ordered and a hugely long wait between starters and mains. Steak was cooked more than we asked for. Overall a disappointing night

The food was overall very nice. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere at Bourbon & Black in Didsbury was very welcoming and I would recommend going there. I cannot wait to go back there again to try other dishes on their menu!

I went here for a birthday meal with family. The atmosphere was excellent and the staff were friendly and attentive. When there was a minor problem with the starter the waitress sorted the problem straight away. The mains were excellent and I was absolutely stuffed by the end! Very good, would recommend.

Lovely evening, served by a young blonde girl who was lovely, friendly and knew a lot about the menu. Already recommended to lots of friends and we are planning a meal for ten of us.

Not bad - but be careful when ordering chilli hot - i can take hot better than most but, hot and painful is not enjoyable.

We were seated within 1-2 minutes of entering as there were people waiting in front of us. The waitress was very helpful and enthusiastic and our food came out relatively quickly. The Merlot wine was lovely and the atmosphere upstairs was very chilled. If we had time we would have liked to have stayed downstairs and check out the bar area and try some of the whiskies. For the money wasn't sure the food was worth the same prices but I would like to give it another try and see. The food was good but I didn't feel like it wowed me hence the 4/6 mark. We went on a Saturday evening around 8pm and made a reservation, the restaurant looked busy.

The food was delicious. We had the tomahawk which was cooked perfectly and I would come back just for the pigs in blankets. Service was great. I look forward to going back again.

Lovely starters and main , steak was delicious. The broccoli side was pretty much raw unfortunately and there was a couple of deserts that were sold out

If you book in January it's 50% off but I would still pay the full price for the excellent Chateaubriand that they serve. The bartender made us up some great non-alcoholic cocktails to go with it.

Ordered the Tomahawk. A £55 piece of meat for two. Was well worth it! We went there to treat ourselves and we were not disappointed. Highly recommended!

FooD portions very small and very over priced ( even with 50% discount) .Staff were lovely though and the quality of food was high. Nice venue and great cocktails.

Good food, especially as we got 50% off due to a January deal. Service was a little slow but we were given an extra 5% off to compensate for this.

A very nice setting and good atmosphere, with very tasty food. The service needs a little improvement however. Our drinks order was taken quickly, but took over half an hour to come. A lot of what we wanted was not available from the menu, which we weren't made aware of initially, and even when half of the food had come, one of my friends was told his food wouldn't be available. We had to remind the staff to bring several items. The food itself was very tasty, a very good steak and we ordered some sauce with it, which was also very good. The cocktail I had was delicious. The staff realised it had not been ideal and knocked a considerable amount off the bill, which was good of them. The food was lovely, but it was just a bit of work to get it!

The food and drinks were great, we'll defiantly be going back! However, we thought going out for a bite to eat on a Monday would be a smooth affair! we waited 15 minutes to order drinks which took a further 10 minutes to arrive (were worth the wait, the Apple Moonshine was just a delight) Food took nearly an hour to hit the table we only ordered mains, a Burger and the Ribs. The fresh cut chips were stone cold, but were quickly changed. Quality of the food was great, Ribs were tasty Burger was fantastic, we both had food envy of the tables around us which is drawing us back to try more of the menu! We were told when we came to pay the bill which had a surprise 50% discount offer on the food that they were extremely short staffed and the place did seem to have all the covers arrive around the same time. just seemed poor planning on their part not to spread the covers out to allow for the staff crisis. We'll be going back soon in the hopes we'll have a faster service, the atmosphere and lubrication from the cocktails made for a lovely chilled out evening which was really nice actually, just a pity we were both really hungry otherwise it'd have been a 6!!

I have eaten at the restaurant a few times since it opened and below is list of my experiences: Food: Simple but well cooked, steaks are good. Whole Seabass is really good although on the last visit they had very little fish on the menu except a cod fillet which I was told was delicious by someone in our party of 4. Ribs starters were a decent portion and very tender. Setting: Comfortable booths upstairs although a little chilly. Downstairs, relaxed with both high and low tables. The decor of exposed brick and rustic feel is comfortable but definitely could do with a little more heating in winter. Chilled music generally plays at a good volume. Service: Staff are welcoming but waiting to order or getting the bill at the end of the meal can be a little lengthy at times. They had missed a few bits off the order and informed us. The wait was short for them to arrive. Dessert were very limited so we decided against ordering.

Food was very average and the service was terribly slow. Some of the staff didn't know there was a 50% offer on and others just didn't expect it to be so busy. Won't be returning.

Lovely friendly staff and the fillet steak was gorgeous. Live music playing downstairs. Would definitely recommend this place but if you want to order the chateaubriand be aware that it takes over 40mins to cook so book early!

The restaurant smelt of toilets. There seemed to be a lot of staff on hand but they were inattentive. Unfortunately the food wasn't great either. This was my second visit and I won't be returning.

I have been here once before and really enjoyed the food. This time however unless you ordered the steak the other mains were a bit of a disappointment. The ambiance was good. Overall a satisfactory experience.

Cocktails were good, starters were good , but the ribs were burnt, and as foodies we know the difference between chargrilled and burnt. Would give it one more try though, as the meals other diners looked good

Service was very good with friendly staff. The setting of this restaurant was very nice - far nicer than restaurants of this nature usually are. Very professional set up. Wine was very good (I had a Malbec) though didn't get a chance to try to the cocktails which was a shame. Food was decent - the rib portion was huge so would recommend ladies go for the starter sizes as I got nowhere near finishing mine.
