Cossachok

Dropped marks because at the time of our visit they had no drinks licence, although we were pre-warned 24 hours before so we BOB but it's not quite the same. We both started with the Borscht, not enough flavour for my pallet, my Stroganoff was first class but a distinct lack of sour cream- perhaps I haven't had authentic Cossack stroganoff before, OH had the salmon & again very tasty. If I had one nit-pick it would be that the veg portions aren't huge, so left feeling that I needed to stop at a chippy on the way home .

My friends and I spent an enjoyable afternoon with Cafe Cossachok yesterday. The food was delicious, the service was perfect and the cost was very reasonable. We had been warned before hand that there had been an issue with their liquor license and I appreciated the warning. We were then able to bring our own wine. There are 3 of us, living in different parts of Scotland who meet occasionally and spend lots of time talking. Many times we begin to feel that we have overstayed our welcome in a restaurant, but that was certainly not the case with Cafe Cossack. All of us are looking forward to returning and also bringing our partners and other friends. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

As ever a great meal and excellent service. This place is a hidden gem! I had the pork steak cooked in beer and mustard...was divine! This with 2 tap waters, a coffee, my friend had the same meal and 2 colas and it was £31. Excellent,. thank you!

Excellent food. Fine atmosphere. Professional and well mannered staff. I think since the theme is nostalgic Soviet times food it would be appropriate to have some pictures of Lenin and Brezhnev on the walls for authenticity.

The restaurant is very beautifully designed with a packed menu. The food was really nicely presented and tasted delicious and all the staff couldn't have been more friendly or attentive.

The service and food was brilliant, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very nice. Will definitely be back! It's always great trying different foods!

My husband and I had a pleasant meal that we had not tried before , I loved the borche soup and stole bread my husband had chicken mince pancakes full of flavour , will be back

Very good Russian restaurant. Food was delicious and the decor very attractive. Staff were friendly, though a little inattentive. Not too much of a problem though, as we were in no rush.

Food was lovely, staff were friendly and it’s a nice big cosy place . We had the set 2 course menu and it is excellent value! 👍🏻

Great food, atmosphere and really friendly helpful staff - Next time we are in Glasgow we will be back to sample more of the in-house vodkas

Definitely worth visiting this place. Staff are very friendly but more importantly, very efficient. Wonderful variety of dishes available that cater to all tastes. Excellent value for money too. Decor is uniquely vibrant and colourful. Will visit again.

An attractive restaurant with friendly staff and delicious, hearty dishes, presented well. Good for lone diners, couples or groups. Some imteresting films being screened, too.

Lovely place, and lovely service. Our starters were really good, especially the Borscht. One of my friends had the chicken Kiev which was delicious! My pork was over cooked as it was quite tough. My other friend ordered the monkfish. It was very dissapointing. It was tiny and cold. They did however, take it away and bring back a hotter dish. But the fish was still tiny, tough and tasteless.

Taaaaasty! I will be back - and back! Lovely staff - didn't mean to have a glass of wine but I did! Super quality meat and sauces.

Really enjoyed our lunch here. Staff were friendly and very attentive. Meal was lovely except crispy ravioli which was really one dimensional. No veg or sides with the ravioli. Would go back again for more borscht.

I really don't understand why there are such good reviews for this place. The food was nothing better than I could cook at home, and some of the dishes in my party were dry or tasteless. We also waited ages to be served and ages to actually receive our food. Two of my party didn't eat very much off their plates and complained, however no replacement offered and nothing off the bill.

Our first visit to Cafe Cossachok and we were not disappointed. Welcoming and friendly staff and reasonably priced. Excellent selection of dishes with plenty of vegetarian options. The borscht was delicious and our choice of main courses and desserts were full of flavour and well presented. We finished off with a shot of flavoured vodka and a Russian coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal & will definitely be back.

Tasty food - fabulous sweets! Wpuld recommend to anyone looking for a meal that is a wee bit different. Hope to visit again sometime soon.

Friendly welcome, good service from all staff and excellent food and drink all at a very reasonable price for a Glasgow city centre resaurant, all in all a very enjoyable dining experience.

Varied menu with loads of things I would like to try.Finally settled on 2 safe options .Portobello Mushrooms with Goats Cheese And Chicken Stroganoff .Both very tasty and good portions. Will be back again.

Welcoming friendly staff, efficient service and great food at very reasonable prices for a Glasgow city centre restaurant. Especially recommend the lamb sashimi and the borscht

I visited the cafe Cossachok with a friend on Monday 14th August. We had spent a couple of hours searching out the Billy Connolly murals in the Rain! The Cafe Cossachok was a wonderful discovery, and we spent the rest of the evening sampling a range of delicious food, cocktails and wine at the most reasonable of prices! The portions are enormous, and we struggled to plough our way through smoked salmon blinis and spiced rack of lamb which was cooked to pink perfection. The waitress was charming and knowledgeable, and I'll certainly be back - Glasgow is my favourite city anyway.

Excellent food and excellent service. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. I would definitely recommend the food there. The restaurant is worth a visit.

The food was excellent. The honey cake was definitely the highlight. The cocktails were good and cheap. The homemade hazelnut vodka was also great. Will return again.

A great experience -- authentic and tasty Russian cuisine with warm service, in an inviting space. Reasonably priced; a good value. My entire family enjoyed the restaurant thoroughly!

The place is really nice. It is a completely different dining experience. Amazing food. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I go to that place quite often either for dinner or for lunch. Moscow Blintses are the best!

This restaurant has a nice atmosphere - it was very relaxed! We had the lunch menu which was excellent value, and the food was very tasty.

A very cosy and friendly place! Authentic Eastern European food. Very tasty! I would recommend trying borshch, shashlyk (all three of them) and cakes which are delicious!

The staff were very helpful and extremely pleasant. We shared a starter of mixed meats some of which were tasty but some were tough and fatty. Main courses were chicken kebabs and lamb kebabs . The chicken was good but all three portions of the lamb were very tough.

We visited on a Saturday evening and both food and service were excellent. I had the pancakes with chicken mince and it was lovely. Prices are very reasonable too. £40.00 for 2 main courses, 2 desserts plus 2 drinjs each, we will return

Excellent lunchtime menu, great variety of Russian and Lithuanian beers, and the staff were also very good. Highly recommend the Georgian chicken, but there were plenty of vegetarian options. Just off Trongate.

My colleague and I had lunch at Cafe Cossachok on a Tuesday. The restaurant is colorfully decorated with iconic Russian fabric and artifacts. We were seated promptly and ordered the potato pancakes and the lamb goulash from the lunch menu. Service was fast and pleasant. The food was delicious, the potato pancakes were delicately fried and crispy, served with sour cream. The lamb goulash was tender and flavorful, served with potatoes. All in all, a very pleasant experience with delicious food, good service, and a lovely atmosphere.

Lovely ambience and staff were nicely attentive Food was lovely and prices, including wine , were very reasonable. Would recommend. Toilets decorated with sheet music an amusing touch

Lovely place, helpful staff and wholesome tasty food. Enjoyed eating dishes from the lunch menu, there's a fine selection of drinks, many of which you won't find in other restaurants. Will be returning.

We had an EXCELLENT meal, and the staff were very friendly. Restaurant decor is beautiful and the service was super quick. Can't wait to go bacK!

This restaurant has great service and a good atmosphere. The food was really tasty and is suitable for people that like non oily and heavy foods. I would recommend this place for people that like to try new foods.

Excellent all round first visit here wee bit trepidation but thoroughly enjoyed it. Great food lovely staff excellent value. Will recommend and certainly be back.
