Côte Dorking

We are regular diners and are always impressed with the service, food and wine. We therefore entertained some old friends at Cote in Dorking on Friday evening. Everything was as anticipated and our friends were so impressed that they told us that they will definitely return.

Food excellent. Service slow. Staff chatting amongst themselves. Not at all attentive.

Great team who always welcome customers.very professional in all aspects.great value for money and lovely atmosphere.

A most enjoyable dining experience! Food was delicious and service was amazing as usual.

We were entertaining old friends and received a warm welcome and a choice of tables. Our meals were outstanding, tasty and well cooked. The wine was also excellent. The service was, as always, of the highest standard and Cote should be congratulated on their training.

Visited for a later breakfast and as ever the food and service were great for a good price.

Had steak. Very tasty. Waiter failed to bring salad Had to be reminded. Staff a bit inexperienced. But generally a good experience. Rod

We booked online, but there was no mention that the restaurant was in a shopping mall, some distance from the car park. We received a warm welcome and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We were surprised that the special offers on the board outside were not available although we were offered a premium special menu. The food was of very high quality and was beautifully presented. The potatoes were underdone to the point that they could not be picked up on a fork. I wish that the predilection for nouvelle cuisine had been made known before we booked.

We were warmly welcomed by David and his staff as usual. The restaurant was very busy but that did not affect the quality of the food or the service both of which were excellent.

Unfortunately we didn't have a very good start . We eventually managed to order our drinks and instead of Gin and Tonic i was given Soda water. I didn't realise this until i took a sip and asked for it to be changed . The waitress apologised and brought me a replacement . On ordering we asked that the olives came with the drinks and then to have the starters but the olives never arrived and we ended up with our starters . We mentioned this to the Manager and he appologised . The rest of the meal was very nice. When we asked for our bill we saw that the Olives were on there and asked that they be removed . My friend had made enquires for gift vouchers and was told Yes and to speak to the Manager who said they didn't have any so somewhat dissapointing .

We use Cote a lot, especially when travelling, because the food is consistent, always great quality and the service is always excellent. We especially enjoy your formule breakfast - a real treat. Last night's pre cinema meal was of the usual high standard. Thank you PS Sorry I never give anything 6 stars!!

Lovely meal as usual Staff very attentive and welcoming In fact as there were very few staff on Who were working very hard it was evident Exactly how good they were. Full marks to the girls who were on. Look forward to next time. Which will be midweek as I have a friends birthday and intend to bring her and husband along. We went for a pre-theatre dinner at 6.30 and everything worked very well indeed. The food and service were excellent. The set menu is very good value and we had a relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable meal. I am gluten free and recently Cote has been a bit over the top about it - including only letting a manager take a GF order - making me feel uncomfortable. I am glad to say this time was much more ‘normal’; I got the GF menu, the normal waitress took the order and when it arrived it had a GF flag on it. Well done for getting this right!

Visited during lunch for my sisters birthday. Greeted with a smile and made to feel special. Food was amazing and overall had a fab time.

They dealt with our big party with precision and care without making a fuss. Very sensitive communication and all staff beautiful trained. Brilliantly organised pre-ordering took the stressful bit out of the evening. We always feel we are in good hands at cote in Dorking.

Enjoyed a complimentary French Martini. Food was very good and we had a lovely time.

Always have a nice meal here with friends. However this time we had a female waitress who was being supervised by a male waiter. I personally thought that it should have been her supervisor who should receive training, when serving his manner was abrupt bordering on rudeness. Serving dishes across his diners does not set a good example and muttering what dishes he was serving isn’t polite.

Handled a booking for 18 people really well. Communication prior to the event and the service received during was 1st class, as it is every time I have been to a Cote. 18 very happy people.

We are regulars at Cote Dorking and are always welcomed, whether it's 2 or 10 of us. The food is amazing and the staff can't do enough.

One of the best meals out ever. Everything was perfect, the staff were excellent with great service, the food was extremely good and the complimentary drinks for our two birthday diners was a lovely and unexpected touch to round off a truly lovely dining experience. Thank you and well done.

We are great fans of Cote and visit the Dorking restaurant at least once a week. The noise level yesterday evening was oppressive and made conversation with our friends almost impossible across a small round table for four. Perhaps some soft furnishings or draped fabrics would improve the experience? Food was good as always. Regards Derek Dighton

Very good food and service. Enjoyable experience for my guest

Unfortunately, despite having been to the Dorking restaurant many times in the past 18 months this was the most disappointing visit. The waiter appeared to be making as much noise as possible, banging glasses and cutlery as he laid tables, including breaking a glass, slamming doors, even accidentally kicking the chair I was sat on. He seemed oblivious of his noise impact on the diners and their experience. I mentioned this impact as I left the restaurant.

Lovely meal very good service friendly welcoming staff. Food well presented and waiting time between courses very good. Will be back for breakfast at the weeken Looking forward to it already.
