Côte Islington

Consistently good experience. Our favourite local restaurant. Menu changes regularly but the regular dishes are first class. Staff are all well informed and work with pride.

A group of friends and I regularly meet at the Cote Islington and especially enjoy the early evening/pre theatre menu which is good value. The staff are great and the atmosphere is good.

Not up to the usual high standard,had to send the first garlic/parsley bread back.Tasted like it had been defrosted and not thawed out in the centre and very dry tasting.Also the main course came up immediately after starting eating this and had to go back.Also noticed the usual candles were not put out so maybe this is not happening now.

Food was excellent and the staff were their usual friendly and welcoming selves. As it was Shrove Tuesday we rounded the meal off with the excellent Crepe Grand Mariner. Brilliant

As always an excellent meal - my favourites being The French Onion Soup, Half a Breton Chicken and frozen berries. All well prepared and service as usual excellent

Yesterday, as usual, we had a lovely meal. You were so kind to use the birthday cake I had brought in, added some little candles, and on top of that some sparkling rosé and sang to our birthday friend. It felt like one big family and we enjoyed it very much. And today I have lunch again in another Cote with other friends, can't wait! Elisabeth

Very good service and friendly.The mussels were rather small and some were not open,they could have been better.The rest of the meal and ambience good.

The food was good was usual. The staff weren't very smiley though except for the new trainee which was a delight. So I would go back again.

I’m a regular so slightly biased! However, food and service is very good and Monday seems to be a good night for eating out as not too busy. Boudin noir starter was excellent.

Never disappoints this restaurant as it’s affordable, good food, plus we all had a fun lunch with good service. The Sunday lunch special was great value.

Stylish environment with nice lighting, ambience and attention to detail. Nice service, though my only criticism would be an urgency to take our order (it was lunchtime) before we had read the menus. It was not a working lunch, so we had the time to linger. I realise this isn't the case for all customers

Restaurant unusually quiet for 8.30 on a Thursday evening, however that just improved the service, usually good anyway. We dined from the Prestige menu, which was good value and made a change from the a la carte

Côte is a regular place I visit, the food along with the customer service is second to none! I would highly recommend Côte to anyone who enjoys good food and great wine, a place to relax and enjoy company with good friends, partner or date nights.

Great atmosphere and service. The restaurant was really buzzing. We had a lovely bottle of wine, the food was good but lacked detail in parts eg toast a bit burnt and crepe a bit over cooked and dry, but the rest was it’s usual high standard.

Another very good Cote restaurant. Quality and value always consistent. Pre-theatre works very well as service is always good. Steak frites is always a good option.

Lovely atmosphere of friendly calm; excellent service, food and value.

Complimentary cocktail was lovely. Staff friendly as always. Our favourite place to eat as a weekly post work treat. Food always tasty and great value for money.

Four of us had an excellent lunch. The rhubarb cocktail is absolutely delicious, the asparagus dishes we had for starters plus the salmon special and the sea bass were perfect. Our puddings were also up to your usual high standard though one of our party's personal taste was for a softer taste de pommes than she got. Wine and teas excellent too.

The staff were friendly and professional. They were attentive and observant, noticed immediately when something was missing. The food was not exciting or unusual, but was prepared very well and was very good all in all. We will come back here.

Four of us had an enjoyable meal though the restaurant was very busy and we had to wait for wine until after we were halfway through our starters, which were delicious. The main courses were very good but my gluten free meal was almost cold which is not the first time to happen in this restaurant. The manager was absolutely charming, he seemed to be doing most of the work and made amends for the waiting time. We enjoyed our lunch as usual.

Cote Islington is never less than good, but yesterday it hit excellent. The service, as always, was friendly and efficient, but last night the food excelled.

For once a great London restaurant that is not screamingly noisy. Food was delicous. Service was great. This is a gem in Islington which I will certainly revisit.

Lovely food and wine pairing menu. Service was good as always. This is our place of choice in angel. Never disappointed with either food or service.

Lunch with friends Ordered from the March Menu Highly recomend Tiger prawns and the Veal Mr guests enjoyed the Gin ! Very enjoyable afternoon great service as always.

Food and service at Cote Islington was up to its usual high standard. Only the noise level, which made conversation difficult, detracted. However, the manager reduced the background music level when asked, which helped. Perhaps Cote will consider some sound-absorbing furnishing.

POSSIBLY THE BEST COTE I`VE BEEN TO, EXCELLENT SERVICE, AWESOME FOOD, FRIENDLY STAFF COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE PROFESSIONAL. THIS BRANCH EPITOMIZES EVERYTHING THAT COTE STANDS FOR.

Excellent food, good service, nice surroundings and good wine. The lamb rump with fennel was cooked to perfection, as was the calamari. Always good value for money.
