Excellent food and service that's WHY I KEEPGOING BACK

Service was extremly slow and despite sending through a pre order our food came out wrong and two meals came out when everyone had finished.

Seated at the table early, seating staff obviously very busy but helpful and friendly. Had to grab a waiter to order drinks after 10 minutes. We asked how long until our starters would be as we had pre ordered only to be told they had not received this so we would have a bit of a wait. They then found the order??? but continued to say it was not received even though everything we ordered eventually arrived without us ordering again??? Food was to a good standard. Starters universally great, mains ok. Dessert was a disappointment for one of our group as they only had 4 potions left but we compromised and shared. One of our groups dessert was not bought to the table and when we questioned they again said we had not placed an order on line. Two minutes later our waiter was back with the print out of our full order (so proving that we had preordered and yes the dessert was on it.) Waiter was young and not confident or friendly.

Very good, tasty food and drinks at sensible prices. Staff were attentive, but there were rather too many menu options in my view.

Always enjoy Cotes, My chicken was slightly undercooked but they changed it and apologised also gave us Dessert as a gesture of goodwill

This restaurant never fails in great food cooked really well with such lovely cheerful staff. It is so affordable but quality on every aspect.

Excellent apart from 1 starter being cold although we did not mention this

Staff were excellent and attentive. The food was poor. My friend could not eat his starter of beetroot salad and butternut squash pasta because it was overly salted and full of raw garlic. My starter of duck mousse pate was excellent but my main - pork was dry and bland

A lunchtime catchup with a dear friend at this time of year which has become tradition. Booked a table for 12 :00. Both ordered a dish with some sides, asked for all to come out together. My dish came and then nothing.... mine finished then my friends dish and the sides although not sides anymore. As we were having a lovely time chatting not so much of a problem but not a great service. My dish was refunded which was not expected but appreciated. Thank you Cote for good food as always just polish up the communication from table to kitchen. Happy Christmas to all.

I am a frequent visitor to Cote Islington as I know I will get an enjoyable and reliable French Brasserie experience. However this was not so on the evening of Tues 10th Dec. My favourite dish is the steak frites rapide. Which is served pink and always tasty. On this occasion the steak had the consistency of a piece of leather. I could not eat most of it for fear of choking. So most of it got taken home for the dog. I explained this to the waiter but nothing was deducted from the bill. This would have been a reasonable gesture. I shall not be visiting again!

Some of the food was under cooked wine arrived late

Have eaten at Cote numerous times and enjoyed it. Today was very poor : orders taken but not available, waiting time of 1 hour 15 mins for main course. Bit embarrassing as I was entertaining client. However wine was taken off bill which was a good gesture. Still....

A very enjoyable early evening meal prior to going to the ballet. Excellent food, very good service in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Thank you Kind regards Bob

Another lovely experience at this reliably good branch of Cote. All three of us made tasty choices. Breton chicken, salad Nicoise and the burger were all enjoyed. Staff were friendly and efficient despite the restaurant being full. Kir Royale at £4.95 is always a bonus!

As always the food is reliably excellent and very good value for money. What makes this a top experience are the staff. No job too small, very friendly and incredibly helpful. Only too keen to sort out any problems speedily. I can't fault our meal this evening.

It was in a lovely position and appeared to be not too busy when we arrived. We were left waiting but eventually were shown to our seats. It took some time for someone to take our drinks order. The food arrived promptly except for one persons starter. The food was very good, especially haddock parmentier the steaks were a little chewy. Lots of salad in the salad bowl The creme caramel was amazing.

Disappointing experience today. We frequent this restaurant at least once a month - and have done for a couple of years. Tonight there was no engagement with us and we had no sense of being valued. Mix up with our booking - the waitress looked at the wrong week. No free cocktail for a la Carter diners - the waitress very smugly told us it wasn’t available in December. Regards Andrew Burr

Lovely food and atmosphere, service was good and the whole experience was very enjoyable

Very friendly warm and jolly atmosphere.The only criticsm was the chocolate roulade dessert on the Christmas menu.It was a very small portion and could not taste the alleged licquer in it which was supposed to be in.

Excellent as usual - great staff and great food will be back again

As a regular customer at Cote I find the food great value for money and always delicious. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and very careful with food intolerance.

As per usual, dinner at Cote Islington was an enjoyable experience. My French onion soup was tasty and presented well. The duck (my main course) was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The wine list is good. The champagne is delightful. The staff were friendly and attentive. All in all dinner at Cote was great!😊

côte is always excellent and in 11 or more years i’ve been impressed at every branch i’ve visited...this is the first time i’ve ever been disappointed with a meal however the service and attitude did not fail to please and make up for it! well done côte i’ll be back!

Great food; clean, stylish surroundings; fast and friendly service; excellent value.

A bit too expensive... Good experience overall but out of all the dishes for 3 people: - the frozen fruit and white chocolate dessert was really deceiving - the steak tartare was tasteless Also the service was really not impressive and we waited about 25 minutes between the starter and the main.

Food was delicious but service was not the best today.

Food was lovely and couldn’t fault the service once inside the restaurant, however made to feel very uncomfortable by queuing customers who we had to negotiate As we had a pre booked table. Nobody seemed to be managing the people who had gathered and were blocking the entrance. Not a great start to our lunch.

Good food, love the starters particularly. Was slightly disappointed as the bill was incorrect (£1 off) and waitress was not able to correct it, which was odd. Not a big deal per se but surprised this could happen.

Always enjoy Cote nice food, friendly and efficient service and, best of all, no music!
