Excellent night very good food, attentive staff would definitely recommend

I had high hopes of dinner there. The starters were okay, calamary a bit oily. The steak, i ordered medium rare (my bad) and then asked to cook it a bit more, so that made it very bitter. Then our bill was wrong, it was for another table which wasnt even finished eating. But we were still charged the service. The person serving us didn't know the menu properly.. we won't go there anytime soon unfortunatelly

We eat at Côté Islington 3-4 times a year when we visit Sadler’s Wells. It has a cosy non-metropolis atmosphere. Efficient, but not frantic. A delight. The staff has been consistent too over the years. Marta is a joy! She is friendly, welcoming and, amazingly, remembers us! Thank you for a lovely evening xx

It’s ok but no better. Staff are very pleasant and service is pretty good but the food is average and much better is available locally. To be fair, the duck was excellent but the burger was very dry and the portion size of the Steak Frites was disappointing. Two other ‘irritants’ - no draft beer and asking £4 for a 25cl bottle is excessive. The usual London practice of automatically adding a12.5% service charge is used here also. I’d use Cote again but really only if there was no other viable option.

Friendly staff, good food, very good value. Not rushed. Teenagers very happy.

A spontaneous visit and greeted with a smile and received table immediately. Food choices abundant and arrived swiftly. Enjoyable experience.

I’m a regular visitor to Cote Islington and it’s always a great place to eat. The staff are friendly and helpful. The duty manager last night I think she is called Marta is very professional, chatty and an asset to Cote. The food is delicious. Keep up the great work.

I enjoying eating at Côte and usually have a positive experience, however I unfortunately will not be returning. Sadly, a very disappointing evening and shocking service!

Short of staff but waiter was awesome. Good not quite as good as usual.

As usual the Manager in Islington whom I know was very helpful and friendly and always takes care of myself and my parents. Excellent customer service he gives to all his customer.

Disappointing. We booked a long table for our post-wedding brunch and despite there not being too many of us, we were asked to pre-order. Fair enough, we thought. We turned up at the agreed time, sat down, and waited... and waited... It was an hour before even the pre-ordered drinks turned up(!), and then food only started limping out once we complained as some of our guests were needing to leave. Although the waiters were apologetic nothing appeared to be happening behind the scenes and when dishes did start appearing there was plenty that were incorrect. What made it all worse was the restaurant was at best - half full and also we could see that people on some other tables had walked in off the street, ordered and were eating - and we still hadn't even been served drinks!

We had to ask on several occasions for more drinking water, we were given prompt attention, but this dwindled over time, we had lunch and dessert, but stayed drinking wine till gone 10.30, our evening waiter was very hospitable. Thank you, we will come again, the food was delicious.

Excellent evening enjoyed once again in Cote, Islington. The Manager, Gustavo, & his staff deliver a very positive customer experience & go that extra mile to make sure you have a great evening

The manager Gabriel and the waiter called Salvatore were amazing and attentive looking after us.

It was a busy Sunday lunch time with a match on. Staff were courteous, helpful, friendly polite. Food was excellent. Good atmosphere.

Very efficient and good quality food service not brilliant but ok.

Not the best Cote that I have visited. A very noisy group of men at a nearby table meant we could hardly hear each other. There were plenty of other tables that we could have been offered. As always the food as very good but the chocolate sauce to accompany my ice cream was not brought to me. After I asked for it there was still a delay.

The perfect local venue for a late post theatre lunch . The food was great , atmosphere was friendly and the service was efficient and professional. Although Cote is a ‘chain’ the one in Islington is better than some of the others!!!!

Great service and lovely food. Very much enjoyed the Kir Royale treat as it’s my birthday month. Waiter from Tunbridge Wells (sorry forgotten his name) was very attentive and helpful.

If you’re in a hurry and not wanting a romantic lingering evening Côte does the job! Quite often worries me just how quick the food comes out but as I said that’s what you come here for

Full six star experience - couldn't have been better. The staff, as ever, were helpful and amiable but unintrusive and the food - as ever - was excellent. As we opted for the complimentary bottle of wine with the a la carte menu it was an extra treat but I have never yet had a disappointing experience at Cote. Congratulations all round.

We’ve been going to Cote regularly since it opened and I use it a lot to take business clients so last night was a shocker . Firstly it’s not the staff they are always wonderful especially the French manager at Islington branch . What’s changed is the food . Your obviously buying in cheaper products as the meal was terrible. The calamari from the main menu was thin and tasteless. The steak meat was cheap and you had to chew endlessly, the pepper sauce was hot water and peppercorns ! They hadn’t even bothered to put cream in it. My chicken was pre cooked and then heated again in a pan . I know this because I used to be a chef . Either the business is struggling and you have had to buy cheaper products and your using kitchen staff who just have to heat things, not cook them . Please go back to your old suppliers , the meal was dreadful .
