Fantastic evening as a birthday dinner. The staff made it very special and were generous and thoughtful in many ways. Delicious food, especially the fish and bread. We do not live locally and have been to several Cotes in other places, and the Lewes branch was definitely one of the best. Thank you for giving us such a lovely time.

Lovely meal and excellent service. We were a large group but were looked after efficiently and with no fuss. Our server was cheerful and very attentive to our needs without interrupting the flow of conversations. Very impressed and we will certainly be back.

As always the food was excellent. My son had the rib eye steak, my husband the chicken and frites and I had risotto. All good. Similarly for dessert, the chocolate mousse, ice cream and chocolate fondant all went down well. Our waitress was very pleasant and the kir royales, which were free as it was my birthday, were well received by all.

Very pleasant evening out with family made all the more special by the food, environment and staff at Côte. Not the cheapest night out but well worth the money!

My wife's birthday, they looked after her from start to finish in a really nuanced and gentle way. We, and especially she, had a lovely time.

Amazing food and staff were very helpful with my wife’s GF allergy requirements! Lovely atmosphere and would definitely recommend - we usually go to our local Horsham cote but if we return to lewes we will return to cote !

Although service was very good. Food was just ok..would of expected better for the price.. also We found restaurant to be quite noisy but it was Saturday night and all tables where full.

I had booked for myself and seven friends to have lunch for my birthday! We were sat in a room away from the main restaurant which was perfect. Even though we were tucked away the service was excellent and the food was delicious! We would definitely recommend the crepes! Everyone had a great time and we weren’t hassled to leave. In fact we ended up staying four hours! Would definitely go back again.

Served by very professional friendly staff, as always by Cote’s. Great atmosphere and a superb, freshly cooked meal. The chocolate mousse and chocolate fondant are strongly recommended.

Four of us went for brunch. Very good food and very good service. Its difficult to fault this place. It was a bit quiet when we arrived (about 10:30) but was filling up by the time we left. Would certainly go there again.

We had a lovely lunch yesterday at Cote in Lewes to celebrate both the Birthday of my wife and her older sister. As always, the food, wine and service was 'second to none' and we had a great time. We also enjoyed the complimentary 'gin & tonics' Thank you to all the staff who made our lunch so enjoyable

'Proper' restaurant refreshingly free of muzak and other nonsenses. Comfortable, clean, friendly. Food was fine - except the potato extra accompanying the fish dish which was soggy and luke warm and obviously from freezer to micro. Only reliable restaurant in Lewes for people who want a nice meal. The free bottle of (very good) wine was much enjoyed.

Really enjoyable lunch at Cote in Lewes. Didn't know what to expect but from the moment of arrival we had friendly, helpful service. Good choice of menu including fixed price options. Food quality was very good. My only moan on the charcuterie starter was cold bread. Otherwise the Breton Fish stew was superb with a very tasty bottle of French Rose and a gorgeous Creme Carmel for dessert. The bill could have much higher in some other (un-mentioned) eating spots in Lewes. Well done Cote. We will be returning.

We visited Cote Lewes for a birthday meal. Food was great, the table could have been better though, its very cold by the windows at the front!

Beautiful warm cosy decor and soft lighting. Friendly welcome and very good waitress service. Varied menu. I had french onion soup which was piping hot and very tasty followed by lamb with vegetables, creamy mash and a gorgeous rich sauce. A very enjoyable evening and now my new favourite lewes restaurant. Will definitely be back.

Sadly I ordered Haddock for main course which was very dry and the skin couldn't be taken off. It was disappointing as I have had much better fish from you before.

We were a party of 6. Lovely staff, welcoming, helpful and attentive. Delicious Food beautifully presented. The restaurant has a very lively, convivial atmosphere... we had a brilliant experience. This is my favourite place to eat in Lewes.

We enjoyed our meal and the venue (Lewes). The service was very good. We started with the enormous chicken liver pate which was very good and some olives. We liked the green olives but didn't like the black ones. The main meals were great, nicely presented and tasty but my husband was a bit disappointed that the crackling on his belly pork was not crackling but rather soggy. We like going to this branch of Cote very much and will definitely be going again. Thanks.

Service good. Although we did eat lunch early at 12:00 Sadly I found that the salad had not been washed and I found a baby slug on my rocket and black gritty bits on my little gem lettuce. The comment I got was that the chef didn’t know what it was and that all salads are washed. If it had been washed I would not have found any foreign bodies on it!! I find this rather concerning and most disappointing Fiona Kay

Always excellent, fantastic friendly and professional service, consistently outstanding food . Lewes is a bustling, busy restaurant, always packed but with a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Lovely evening with friendly helpful staff. Delicious red wine and good food. Muscles and French onion soup for starters. Cod goujons and chicken with a creamy mushroom sauce. Restaurant just minutes from our hotel. Although it was busy (Valentines weekend) we didn't feel rushed.

We had a very good time. The service was great and the food was lovely. We could hear each other talk with discreet background music providing a good ambience.

Excellent food and service, only small complaint was the fatty ribeye steak that my daughter had. A very fine birthday experience overall nevertheless, thank you very much!

Booked a table for lunch for 2. Warmly welcomed on arrival and quickly presented with menus. My wife went for the Salmon with ratatouille which she said was delicious, I had the Rib Eye steak with fries, cooked to perfection, really tasty and tender. We both had the must have pudding of Creme Caramel, again really delicious, silky smooth with good vanilla and burnt sugar flavour. All washed down with a bottle of Viognier. Ended with 2 flat white coffees. The whole experience was first class. Great food, great service and a relaxing ambience.

Nice relaxed dining with polite attentive staff and good food. A nice range of Gluten Free Options on the menu as well. Overall an excellent experience will certainly return and recommend.

We had the light lunch warm goats cheese with roast veg and tapenade crostini and my friend had crepes with mushrooms and spinach, both delightful and filling. Service was exceptional not intrusive but attentive.

We have eaten at various locations in this chain of restaurants around East Sussex, Kent and further afield. It is always consistently good. This was a relatively new restaurant, the ambience was perfect, service very good and always with a smile. To start we just had olives, bread ( very good) and the anchovies on crispy pastry.(excellent) My steak was cooked to perfection,ultra thin,but still pink and very tender. Just how I like it. The rest of our family group all enjoyed their meal. Well done Cote, we will be coming back!
